yehh, same to me too. running since 6PM, friday 13th and never freeze whatsoever. before that, update bios with version 8801.
please provide link saying that, rather than asking people to do searching, googling, bla bla (like most of people in here always did). it is because not all people around the globe have such "searching skills" like most of you and please, again, provide a link. IMHO, if the freezing occured is because they use what they get and as is, not updating a driver, not updating a bios. |

that is happening to a n00b who want to become 'enthusiast'
freeze, blablabla, whatsoever. a small issue but they raise it sooooo high make it to become big issue. even 'little-bending' board also will become an issue to this kind of user. please, if you're n00b, don't make me become n00b, too. right now, my z68 running 3 days, 20 hours, and several minutes, nothing happen. well, if you're so-called 'enthusiast' enough, why depending on tomshardware review to choose which system do you like? buy whatever you like. only n00bs are depending to others recommendations |

sandy bridge chip is quite hot, and vcore quite high in auto mode. so it is a normal behaviour. at least it is the best chips in mainstream line

p8z68-v pro is quite good, and it is enough for me. give full performance when i need, and give best low power consumption when idle. and using intel hd 3000 graphic also enough for me, no need to use my ati hd 4650 anymore since the performance can be measure. i still can play game that can be played by my hd 4650. quite impressive with intel hd 3000. and it help me to reduce power consumption since no need to use discrete graphic anymore.

QUOTE(clawhammer @ May 20 2011, 07:52 PM) Sandy Bridge is a lot cooler than it's predecessors i am comparing with i7 800 series, since it is mainstream line. lga1366 is extreme line, right? QUOTE(billytong @ May 21 2011, 11:36 AM) yup agree running 33c-35c @ idle with Hyper 212+ isnt hard, just depends on how good the thermal paste and the skill applies. is arctic mx-4 is not "good" enough? can you share the "skill", please? |

QUOTE(awangkuafiq @ Jun 1 2011, 10:24 AM) Hi..I want to ask about my problem here..Every time I turn off my pc for a while and turn it back on it wont boot..The red light are blinking next of the ram..When I press the memory ok button the system will restart until it can boot into the windows..I'm using g.skill ripjaws x 1600-4GBXL..Anyone can help me how to solve the problem? try using standard timing and voltage according to the ram's manual. if the manual says 1600MHz with 8-8-8-24 with 1.65v, then use that setting, go to ai tweak inside bios, and manually set the value for ram. |

QUOTE(awangkuafiq @ Jun 2 2011, 11:44 AM) i assume that the image after you press the mem-OK button, right?according to timing table, it is XMP-1600 profile. since you can boot using that settings, i suggest that you maintain that setting and don't change it or you may want to try doing your own experiment by slightly change all values and see if it can boot. my suggestion, try with command rate: 1T and other setting same like mem-OK setting. |

off-topic: whoaaaa... seems like this topic start to slowing down, perhaps everybody already own z68 and use it
QUOTE(awangkuafiq @ Jun 6 2011, 05:01 PM) Yup..After press the memory ok button i go into the bios and change the ram setting from auto to xmp profile.. you need to use exact timing and command rate according to specs. some ram with auto can use 1T command rate. some of overclocked ram cannot. play with that settings. |

QUOTE(Kizarh @ Oct 23 2011, 01:54 PM) it will not "hurt" the cpu actually, but peripheral device that connected to pci-e, pci will "hurt-a-little-bit", because they will get the same clock with BCLK, not 100 like previous 1366 & 1556. |

seems like people stop talking about mainstream line since this topic goes to page 4
it is just a waste of money buying 2700K since they just increase the stock clock up to 1 bin but increase they selling price more than 1 dollar! |

QUOTE(Lurker @ Nov 23 2011, 11:20 AM) Hmmm... So I need to find a z68 board w lucid Virtu support la? Should be a good upgrade for me coz now using a power hungry gtx280 any Z68 which has on board graphic port (you can see it bundled at the IO ports) will have virtu support with software installation. most of asus and msi z68 boards have it. i don't understand with some of gigabyte board put z68 but without on board graphic output. |

QUOTE(mizi28 @ Nov 30 2011, 02:38 AM) Hi guys. hd2000 will have max frequency at 2GHz while hd3000 inside 2600 for example, can achieve 3GHz. you may want to check inside the bios for a setting something like: iGPU max frequency, because mine was set as a default at 1650MHz. i adjust to 2800MHz and i can play need for speed undercover smoothly: all max settings @ 1280x1024 I have a question. The built in gpu in desktop sb hd3000/hd2000 is it the same as mobile sb gpu? because last time i used hd2000(i3 2100) to play heroes of newerth at 1440x900 the performance is quite decent. so i wonder if mobile sb hd3000/hd2000 can perform the same as the desktop version |

although msi "click bios" claimed to use just single bios chip, i still prefer asus since it can browse file from local hdd to flash the bios, rather than have to flash it by booting from usb like msi does
