4th was a glimmering hope anyways....we'll just have to look forward to some good buys in summer
*
Yeap, i wonder how much bling-bling we have after compensating 16m to Rafa? 4 million?
* If we get back Sissoko at 10m without a penny of compensation to Rafa, then we will have 10m of transfer money + Sissoko *.

still doubt can get 60m spend in summer
*
Why not? Top European clubs have got 60m cash cheque ready for Torres. Ask and you shall be given.

We'll become Leeds anyway if the Yanks still don't f*** their way out of Anfield...

It's not easy to ship the Yanks out. Likewise, it's not possible to ship your boss out (the owner of the business).

sure is tempting to let go el nino for 60m....but his such a great player for us(apart from the injuries)
*
Yeap, 60 millions are good money.
What about 80millions? 100millions for Torres?
I'm not surprised to see clubs like RM, ManCity, Chelsea to splash 100m on player like Torres.
(RM spent 80m pound on Ronaldo. They have already set the precedent).

With 100m on the table, I bet the Yanks will drop their balls (I mean eye balls).

They want to sell the whole club at 300 millions plus. A single player already can sell 100 million, surely tempting.
*
Yes, why not? Real Madrid signed Ronaldo for 80m pound.
Clubs like RM love to break world's record in signing players.

How can Real Madrid afford Ronaldo?

don wan la getting 60m by selling best fav player.. i mean 60m transfer from those owner
*
Fat hope. The Americans are having problem to pay back bank interest.
What makes you think they will spend 60m on buying players?

Liverpool bought Torres for 20m.
It is irresistible if there are clubs offering 100m million for Torres.
It's 80m pure profit. The Yanks must thank Rafa for signing Torres. notworthy.gif

If Torres being sold, I bet most supporters don't wish to see him at Chelsea or Man City.

Too painful for Liv supportor to watch then.

We walk through the storm with our heads held high.
I think no problem.

Some don't like to see Rafa leave. Some do.
Some don't like to see Torres leave. Some do.
It's life. We gotta accept this.

With current financial state, will Gerard / Torres / Reina / Mascherano stay?
Gerrard and Torres have been urging to sign WORLD CLASS players.
Can we sign world class players?

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...england&cc=4716
He added: "There are things to sort out with the owners and the sale of the club. It is not in the hands of the players but, once we are done with all that, let's build a proper team with a proper squad that is competitive. Maybe then we can start to fight for bigger targets."

Reina knows Liverpool need to get rid of the owners FIRST before we can sign WORLD CLASS players.
Come, new owner, show us the bling-bling.

P/S What does he mean by "it is not in the hands of the players"? What does he try to imply?
What if there's no new owner? No money. Will he leave?

need me to remind you how we get into CL in 2006 after finishing 5th in the league in 2005?

of course that particular year we got to qualify along with Everton who finished 4th but IIANM the rules has changed after that, the winner get to qualify for the competition and the team that qualified for the competition with the lowest position will not be in that competition.

Need some clarification here

ONLY if Fulham win the Europa League title and if Liverpool end up in 7th place.

No way.
Whether ManU win 19th title or not - it's not our concern.

However, beating Chelsea could be the highest mountain to climb for this season.

The point here is, does Rafa have a reason to stay?
He has bleak future in front of him (under the current American boss). He has "F*CK RAFA" behind his back.
On the other hand, there is 80m transfer kit and a wide big open arms on the other side.

If you were Rafa, which one would you choose?
If you are normal human, which one would you choose?

P/S The only reason I can see Rafa stay in Liverpool is the "love" for people. His people.
The people he love, namely Torres, Gerrard, Reina, Mascherano, Kuyt, Lucas, Glenn etc.
It's the people.

Common sense tells us the players and Rafa himself are all exhausted physically and mentally.
So, is the report reliable? Yes, I think it is.

Why not sell it if its a good price? Maybe this is a risk LIV dare not to take... MU sells Ronaldo for one reason- Good price. Its arguable that LIV may not be able to get another striker as good as Torres. But that doesn't mean new buy-in players will not achieve this target... If Torres is sold, you just have to leave the job to your scouts, youth team and coach. I agree that no one will ever expect LIV's this season result looking back at last season's. The moment you know an ace in your team is leaving, you start looking at new players.  At LIV's unexpected season gave everyone a suprise....or maybe its not unexpected??? it started from last time and the problem merely growing bits by bits. Again, if its good price...why not sell it? Like Arsene Wenger said...We can sell one 30m star players and buy a few 5-6m star players. that's why MU sold Tevez and Ronaldo for good price. Arsenal sold Adebayor for good price.

But its just a season...some teams sure get a nightmare season once in a while.
*
MU can afford to lose Tevez& Ronaldo as they have Rooney, Barbatov, Michael Owen, Macheda etc.

P/S
Arsenal sold Adebayor for good price? I thought Adebayor himself wanted to leave?
Arsenal still have Arshavin, Eduardo, Walcott, Bendtner and Van Persie.

See, this is one typical example that you know more than Rafa. One typical example that people like you "cheating" on Rafa.

*Without prejudice & discrimination* I have to repeat this again.
If you know more than Rafa, what about you take his seat?
I will support you wholeheartedly then. Bring us titles, bring us world class players and show us your unbeatable formation.

Selling Torres at this stage is akin Newcastle selling Alan Shearer. Its selling our talisman away.
*
I think it depends on our financial state.
*IF* we don't have money to pay wages for our players, selling our Talisman for money could be the way.

P/S Don't forget, we need to sell players to raise fund.

& guess what, i'm in the think that Lfc has (or just after chelseas game) made inquires about Roy Hudson. (which he/they will tactfully & make lfc board sweat till only after europa final)

jose mourinho WILL not manage LFc as much as most LFc forumers fantasy. He would IF the board sanctions to buy 7-8 players he desires. (which the misers WON'T) not even 4 key reinforcements. sorry lads. too much fantasy. only dreamers are down south east of anfield where "asinus asinum fricat".

You mean Roy Hodgson of Fulham?
I doubt he has the kind of pedigree to lead team like Liverpool.
You know, it's like comparing Roy Hodgson to Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger, Fabio Capello etc.

With our current limited resource, in my opinion, the best candidate without "rocking the boat" is Kenny Dalglish.

Can he take up the job? Can he live with "5.5m transfer fee from the Yanks" in front & ready for "F*CK Kenny" at the back?
We'll see.

Don't blame the law maker. You spew shit from your mouth. The problem is you. It's irrelevant to law maker.

Gerrard's performance has been inconsistent this season. It could be the injuries. He has never recovered mentally since the last "bar brawl" incident.
Nevertheless, in my opinion, Gerrard is still the most influential player in Liverpool.
He knows he has the responsibility to lead the team whenever he wears the captain armband. He has the quality.

However, I think Carragher is virtually NO IMPACT at all.
Both Reina and Torres are good candidates to be vice-Captain of Liverpool.
Just my 2 cents.

I don't see there is drastic change on game plan. It's still the same Rafa and the same Rafa's formation.
In fact, Alonso had been playing crap for many seasons before Rafa had a plan to replace him with Gareth Barry.

You mean Gerrard is bigger than the club? I do not think so.

It's not entirely about winning. It's about get the job done.
Let's not talk about winning games or trophies, it seems Gerrard has not "done" his job lately.

It has to work.
With or without Rafa around next season, Steve G will still be the Talisman of Liverpool, especially there is no player that can replace Steve G.
I think he really needs to pull his socks up next season.
