there is always Amazon.com . just make sure that it is sold by Amazon.com , not buy other retailer.

any nice rom uguys using??with sense but froyo?

For htc Sense UI : I have tried the following : Paul's R23, KingXKx ver 1.0, evil 0.98 - I find the original R23 by Paul is most stable while performance is evil 0.98. However in all these after install the system memory left is less than 15 MB. If you are a ADfree subscriber in Modaco, I'd suggest you bake your own rom online. In all these Bluetooth is not working but you can use BT for file transfers with added apps Blue Tooth File Transfer

For original Nexus UI : my favorites are Rodgrigues 3.5Fix , Kang Rama 0.9 SP3 and Enom latest 2.1.1.1 . I am using Enom now - I find it very stable, fast and don't seem to have any bugs. I faced many force closures in Cyan RC2 and LeoFroyo despite so many vouch for it

Unlike Windows mobile, changing rom for android is easy. I always do clean wipe all : data, cache, dalvik cache, SD ext before installing new roms. Together with Titanium backup , I can have a new rom up with all my old installs/data within 20 minutes

By the way , I just ported over Froyo ver 2.2 ( htc Sense ) to my Windows Mobile 6.5 HTC HD2. If you are interested to read my impressions and view photos, it is at my blog :

Does it come pre-installed with FroYo?
*
Finally got my hands on my N1 from SG , last shipment does not come pre-installed with FroYo , but i got it OTA a couple of minutes after switching it on and setting my APN settings of Maxis 3G. Extremely fast , 44.5mb of Android 2.2 took me only less than 5 minutes to dl and install over the air.

Btw i have a question, im still new to this Android thingy.. ive just learnt how to root and have sucessfully rooted my N1, now i have not done the "recovery flashing" part which all of you spoke of... is it really important to have my N1 flashed ? If so, whats the latest flash image, and how do i flash my N1?

I have just faced what I would call a problem with the android system's apps 2 sd. Apparently if you install too many apps, at one point, your android would stuck at "installing..." and you can't even uninstall any apps, it'll just get stuck at "uninstalling...". Rebooting the phone results in apps in SD not being able to load, no matter what.

I found out that to solve this easily is to boot the phone in safe mode by shutting down your phone first, then power it up while holding the tracking. Keep holding till the phone boots and you see a "safe mode" message at the bottom left of the phone. Then uninstall some apps in SD and you're good to go. Once you reboot your phone, everything should be back to normal.

It looks like there's a bug in apps2sd from stock froyo. hopefully this helps those who encounter this problem in future. I've faced this no less than 3 times before this, but took me the hard way of trying to connect the phone to USB a few times before i was able to uninstall any app. Now you just need to go to safe mode and uninstall it smile.gif
