You probably can drop by Tea Impression in Subang. They have puerh and oolong tea. Friendly place also.

Thanks! May I know around how much to pay for a decent oolong tea?

People normally buy that for collection.

And for collection there are many other limited edition puerh out there with nice boxing. Buy unless that 'limited edition' puerh is meaningful to you cause you will come across many.

Generally this is what people would say..

Tea kettle for start just use normal stainless steel types will do, but these will only give like up to 90c temp which may not be hot enough for old tea.

Which is why ppl use ceramic / cast iron to boost the temp up beyond 90c.

Technically wise, I nvr measure what is the water temp of stainless steel kettle. It is good enough for me and less troublesome.

As for fire / electric... that wan is preference I guess.

I will also go for electric kettle. Just buy a branded one will do.

Ceramic or iron will only good if your water sucks as it can help in improving the taste. If you got good water filter at home, then electric kettle will do

i think Hojo in gardens have a good selection if u're into jap tea, coz they seem to specialize in it... their prices not cheap though (that's y they're in Gardens i guess)

Got a question for all the sifus here...

I currently use one of my purple clay pot as a "multi-purpose" oolong pot... So, if i'm brewing anything which is semi-fermented, it will be the pot i use...

So far have used it with Da Hong Pao, Zhi Zhu Lan TGY, Jing Xuan Dong Ding. and basically any other Oolong i can get my hands on.

Is it ok that i use it that way?

Btw, i have a 2nd tea pot which i solely use for Da Yu Ling (Taiwan High Mountain Tea) because i REALLY love that tea alot and dun wanna campur-campur.

My thinking is that i will consider getting a teapot dedicated to one very specific type of tea if i really love it like crazy and can afford the habit.. hehe

But ya, in the end my question is as the top... is it ok that i use one teapot for all kinds of oolong? or does it kinda screw things up?

My preference on dedicating the teapot

Shui Xian = 1 Pot (some ppl go even extreme as in high fired pot, mid fired pot and low fired pot for this category)
TGY / High Mountain = 1 Pot (can be seperated into 2 teapot if you want, but i rarely drink these so I mix in 1 pot)
Dan Cong = 1 pot
