Guys, I don't think we need to wait for Digi to release Desire anymore. Think they will focus more on Iphone instead. But here is what interesting. Apparently Digi has lowered Iphone 3GS as well as the call plan for it. I'm seriously considering switching to the new package as you only need to pay RM90 for 3gb + 400 minutes of calls + 200 sms. Think will call them to ask whether can take plan only or must take phone to qualify for it.

So must take phone hor...
Still worth it... I already pay RM90+ for my smart plan while waiting for Digi to release 'something'..
16GB 3GS vs HTC Legend... Interesting.
The thing is, you dont feel much pain dropping a RM890 phone on the floor than dropping a 2k phone like 4g or Desire.

rm480 for the 2 years...i suppose you can consider that a subsidisation liao. btw, i hope digi will open it to everyone who signs up a new plan with an android and ties the contract. why differentiate? in fact digi saves by not having to subside a huge amount with the phone.

Went back from Digi center.

Digi got us kao kao.
Apparently, the price slashing on IDigi plan is not a discount, but merely because it was transfer to Digi as a measure to recoup the phone cost.

For example, if you sign up for Idigi 138, the price you paid is not RM90. Make that straight. YOU SIGN UP FOR IDigi 138 for RM138 per month. WHAT HAPPENED THERE???

Apparently someone at Digi trying to be smartass and wanna caught you napping. You signed up for Idigi 138 and paid RM138 for it but was it stated RM90???

Well, its easy. Digi think you would not be smart enough to notice that the savings that you thought you were getting were instead being transfer to Digi to recoup their phone cost. So RM138-RM90(published pricing)=RM48. 2years contract means 24 x RM48 = RM1,152. Instead of the published RM890 that you should paid, Digi reckon you should pay the savings you get from their Idigi plan for them to recoup the phone cost which explained why you had to pay RM2,042 (RM1,152 + RM890) for the phone and still pay RM90 each month within the contract.

Are you sure bor?

IMO, I dont think Digi will give you a Legend @ RM999 for 24 months contract of RM68 with additional RM20 off every month plus the possibility of 25% discount on Smart Plan once your total bill exceed Rm100.

Its most probably for phone purchase at retail price which Digi was reluctant to subsidise like Desire.

Bear in mind, this is not an official digi promo, but it's something initiated by the dealer themselves. So, I'll have limited knowledge of that other than some of the info I've heard.

The new iDiGi plans should be viewed as a totally new plan, actually, since it's on a different pricing and payment model. The gist of it is that you end up paying more upfront but save more over time.

Any way, questions about iDiGi should go to the proper thread instead of the Android forum. Cheers!

can anyone help me on this? i am trying to setup up the APNs on my samsung galaxys.

googled and found the following codes for Digi

CODE

DiGi APN setting
1) Home -> Menu -> Settings -> Wireless & networks -> Mobile networks -> Access Points Name
2) Menu -> New APN
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
DIGI Data - Internet
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
APN: diginet
MCC: 502
MNC: 16
APN Type: default

The rest of the field is blank.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

=========
DIGI MMS (WAP 2.0)
APN: digimms
username: mms
password: mms
Proxy: 203.092.128.160
Port: 80
MMSC: http://mms.digi.com.my/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: 203.092.128.160
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 502
MNC: 16
APN Type: mms

ok, so 3g/Internet works fine. But having problems with mms.

Can't send and can't receive. Sending will get stuck in a non-stop loop.

If someone sends me a MMS, can receive the text part of it, but when click to download the picture, get stuck also.

Any suggestions?

@feiraron
Port from maxis postpaid to digi prepaid first? why wanna do that?

You'll have to stick to digi prepaid for 3 months before you can change again due to policy.
