What time did you call? Its only availble until 6pm after that is off working hours... You can try calling tomorrow or you can send your MBP straight to apple service centers Sapura or VR Tech but not apple resellers... Apple resellers will be slow in processing...

But the best is still call apple support and tell them the issue and ask them to collect it for a replacement or servicing...

@hapa Yes there is that policy of 14 days return... A few forumers have send their MBP back due to some component failure/faulty.. Same goes to cyberixus...

@cyberixus Yeap customized units going to take longer than usual.. Nvm at least you going to get a new one... Just have to play the waiting game 2nd time =)

@nairud Haha welcome to the club! Which mac did you buy? Customized or standard? If customized then it takes longer as it comes from the factory in China =)

I think he just called up apple center and tell them his problem/issue and when they agree to do a change then they will send the courier service provider to pick up his laptop at his home and send it back for repair... and will send back to him once its repaired or a new one...

Added on May 25, 2010, 10:27 amDont think need to post or email I think.. Maybe a picture of evidence of your issue/problem...

@azrinarizz You change the time zone including the location and it still switches back to Taipei? malaysia and taipei having the same time zone as you said.. So as long as the country is correct the time should be the same right?

@azrinarizz Hmm then its kinda weird.. Maybe its because of the same time zone thats why it doesnt change the map... But doesnt it show the world map instead of taipei's map? Not with my macbook now couldnt verify =)

@G_Ken It really depends on you whether you like it or not.. But most people do reccommend the hi resolution if you have the budget.. You can go through the following thread..

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1394265

The time of arrival depends on whether it is a CTO (Customized to order) unit or standard unit... If its a standard unit like mine it took around 3-4 working days tops to arrive... But it depends if there are available stock and the demand... For CTO it might take 1 week plus minus..

They will give you an estimated date of arrival when you purchase.. Normally they are on time according to the date given.

Added on May 25, 2010, 3:39 pmThere are no a must buy gadget but if you have an external monitor get the minidisplay port to HDMI cable to connect to it... If you want protection for your MBP from scratches etc... Get a Hard case casing (Speck, incipio etc) or a screen protector type of protection for the whole body (invisible shield or bodyguardz).. Backpack and sleeves its up to you...

Owh you posted a picture... Sorry cant see due to my sucky outdated office IE browser... =( Not sure how does the computer automatically detect your location...

Added on May 25, 2010, 4:11 pmOK read it up about how the computer detects the timezone.. Its through wifi.. haha... So if the wifi doesnt have a location/area set then I think your mac couldnt detect it... Maybe you could try on thos streamyx hotspots...

Since there is no harm on using the battery.... Just use it together with a power cable unless you really need the portability... If in that case then you have no choice to get a new battery... Maybe you can just try to prolong the life of the battery by doing some calibration now monthly...

But of course if you have the money ready... Go ahead and get a new one for worrying less about bringing your mac around without the power cable..

You should always type in apple malaysia and not apple only when you search for apple.. Unless you are in the states... That would be much easier for you to know for sure its coming from Malaysia and not other countries as there are many countries supported in apple's website

@qooboo2003/terence8/jonrwg
It is not available in malaysia apple store... It is only available if you are in the US (maybe a few other countries)and of course a college student in a uni/college that is listed in the list at the apple website... You can ask your relatives to purchase one if he is attending college/uni and is listed in apple store US...

@izact Hmm... Shouldnt have that type of problem.. Did you set your time/date zone correctly? Or did you set it autodetect based on your wifi? Try do some software updates and check again the settings..

@terence8 Everyone will definitely buy them as iPod is already worth at least couple of hundreds and plus the education discount its definitely a catch...

@mememe12 All went smooth? Some people have problems doing installing their windows in bootcamp.... Maybe you could share the guide that you use... Good reference for people who are new to installing bootcamp =)

Btw why did you bring your MBP to machines for service? I think if you bring it straight to apple service center like Sapura or VR it will be much faster.. Correct me if im wrong...

@nairud Maybe saturday within that half day you could get it if they work fast enough =) Btw whats the promised date that apple gave you.. Should be quite accurate...

Rofl its the fact of life "You get for what you pay" =) So higher priced products should have better service/products.. Cant compare Dell and Apple... Its comparing between Proton and maybe a Honda(give face abit)... haha

Yea it shouldnt lag with itunes... Should try updating all your softwares etc and maybe see how it turns out to be... As some might be causing the Mac OSX to lag....

@cheefai7 Yes definitely faster compared to Machines...

@nairud So you will get by 3rd then.. No worries Haha... Not all MBPs are defect units.... Unless you are unlucky then have no choice also.. Just send them back and get a replacement unit... Just have to play the waiting game again which sucks =(

@mememe12 Nice... At least if someone does encounter the same problem can read your solution =)
