Rofl I doubt that MBPs will have sli.... For them to upgrade the processor and the graphic cards also take so long... Not sure how long you going to wait for the SLI to come.. Haha.. And why would laptops have 2nd HDD... Dont think its feasible =)

I just want the price to be lower and their specs are competitive enough with those other brand laptops... If its possible of course.. Upgradable GC would be good too...

Is there any CD/DVD in your drive? If no then what noise are you hearing? If its clicking sound? If its some sort of a clicking sound then there is a big possibility your HDD is going to die soon... But of course the best thing to do now is to backup all your documents/files/etc to another external HDD... This shouldnt happen and not normal... Unless there is a software running behind in your OS.. You could call up apple care center and confirm with them..

Any problem that you face with your mac, it is best to just call the apple care up and describe the problems you face to them... They will be more than helpful to help you diagnose and also guide you on some basic troubleshooting before they actually ask you to send it back for repair...

They are trained to handle technical questions and of course they should know about macs even more than those at the apple resellers people...

@destfull How much RAM currently you have in your iMac? Im guessing 4GB? You can try to upgrade to 8GB RAM but maybe before that try cleaning up your OS or defrag it. Maybe it helps before you upgrade your RAM. and sometimes it doesnt mean your RAM is not enough and it might be your processor that couldnt handle too many tasks at one time. You can refer to the link below for the RAM type or google them

@burgerkill Welcome to the family!

Maybe you could try to ask in detail in the audophile section? Im sure there are tons of experts in audio there..

For me, the stock speakers are good enough =)... Next time will get a home theater system for my TV better =)

My gf has a MBW late 09 model... So far the only thing that she complains is sometimes it does hangs a bit.. Im not sure whether during streaming/playing on youtube.. I dont think stuttering has something to do with the RAM...

Oh the MBW already been upgraded?

@Suk I think its possible as one of the forumer did purchase MBP 13" one day before the new launch of MBPs... But his case is that Apple called him and tell him that it will be changed to the latest one.. Im not sure about your friends but definitely give a call to apple store.. Im sure they should give it to you..

Added on May 18, 2010, 6:35 pm@ujoewong Ah... Saw it already... So its back to normal again.. haha.. MBW and MBP only difference is alluminium and polycarbonate body..

Added on May 18, 2010, 6:39 pmOh and RAM and SD slot which is better on the MBP 13" other than that its the same..

I think if its already sent by apple, high chances that it cannot be returned.. I mean all the shipping has been paid etc.... BUt of course the best is still try calling... With their reputation Im sure they will satisfy customers demands.

I agree on that too.... Thats why people should not rush and do some research before actually buying the item. Ive been researching on Macbook for almost 2 months before actually purchasing it...

@static Eh you going to get another MBW or you just wanna compare the price between the new and old...

Yeap 8-9 months period for a refresh is quite a reasonable time as technology definitely advance faster nowadays compared to last time... More and more competition coming up and thus the need to refresh their line of products more often... But MBW doesnt really changed much other than its battery life and also the graphic card... The rest are still pretty much the same...

I think its still ok for the RM500 difference... Im sure apple has those marketing experts and price experts that they think even by this price its still going to attract people to get the MBW for Rm500 cheaper... Not eveyrone does an extensive research so some people will think oh Rm500 cheaper why not...

Guess they didnt wanna make it include ACPP price difference... I think for most people they still can think that after getting the MBP, they can buy the ACPP at a later date and thus giving time to save for ACPP... For MBP, I would also do the same thing, I would still get the ACPP at a later that and spend on accessories.. RM500 is a lot of accessories =)... Backpack/casing/sleeves or even a mstand/magic mouse/external keyboard... Would definitely buy the ACPP at the later date

He said maybe due to openGL... And VMWare and parrelel doesnt utilise your graphic card as its just a virtual desktop...

Added on May 19, 2010, 6:54 pmSo bootcamp for games =) or you can opt for steam as they are compatible with Mac now =) but you have to buy games through them which the game library is growing

Yea everyone do feel sad when they just bought something and a few months down the road a new upgraded version comes out and worse still cheaper... Same goes to the car industry where car manufacturers update their model like so often...

Added on May 19, 2010, 7:08 pmThats the nature of technology advancement...

He is comparing with the education price MBW with edu price 3099 and MBP with edu price is 3599.. So RM500 difference..

Of course there are differences for that RM500 and this is a quote from nimrod

RM500 increase and what it entails:
this is what get for MBP
- external battery indicator
- infrared sensor for apple remote
- SD card slot
- FW800
- Aluminium case wont get scratches easily compared with glossy plastic case
- backlit keyboard
- More rigid and strong compared to plastic
- higher grade panel
- no discolouring white to yellow
- Lighter MBP
- up to 8GB memory

So MBP clearly is a better choice for the RM500 difference...
