Is this official? I haven't come across any advice from Apple asking us to do calibration the first time we got the MB/MBP. I've come across Apple advising us to do this every couple of months or so.
*
That's because the battery calibration was done by Apple before sending it to you. Macbooks can be taken out and used out of the box.

is there any tread that selling mini display port to hdmi cable at garage sales?
*
I'm not aware of the existence of such cables. Apple only has VGA and DVI adapters for their mini-display port.

I already placed my order, and have an email from Apple.
When I check my Oder Status, I get that message.
I called the bank, and they will allow the transaction already. However, Apple needs me to Re-Authorize the card.

However again, I can't re-authorize the card because I bought as a Guest !
damn, the apple order page is down too sad.gif
*
Got the same message. Since you've confirmed the transaction with your bank, all you need to do is call up Apple using the number provided in the email, give them the order number and they'll get it done.

5) Often the sales rep will open your unit prior hand over to you (for setup, registration or any reason). It's not "brand new" anymore, technically.
*
I agree with the other points except this. All your registration, preinstalls and ACPP require Apple staff to open the unit anyway.

Oh and to add: local stores still have to go through the online store for built-to-order units.

Apple Online Education Store or call 1800-80-6419

You can compare the edu store prices with the regular Apple Online store to figure out how much you'll be saving.

You need to backup all your data to an external harddisk yesterday - unless you added some significant data today, then you'll have to backup today too.

As stated above, contact Apple Care and arrange for a repair.

That sounds more like a typical day with Flash player on even the best setups. Sad but true.

if i wan to install 2 os inside is it efficient when using macbook white? after install window can play game??
*
You can install Windows on the Mac and run it via Parallel or VMware while running OSX. Otherwise, you can run Bootcamp and boot natively into Windows without starting OSX. You can play Windows games without too much trouble, just remember to updated the graphics drivers.

what do u mean high tech? warcraft? lol not really lah it needs the least amount of requirement even my old macbook can handle it with GMA950 and thats a 4year old model.
*
These are the recommended system setup for Warcraft 3:

600 MHz processor
256 MB of RAM
32 MB 3D video card

To answer the original question, it's possible to run most of the newer games via bootcamping into Windows 7, as demonstrated by various sources that have run Crysis on the Macbook Pro 2009 models (Youtube example). Since Steam is now natively on the Mac OSX, we'll be seeing an increase of current gen games, however thanks to Window's proprietary DirectX feature, it'll be some time before we a comparable performance on the OSX (or Linux).

Take note that it's RM324 on top of the MBW's price to bump it up to 4GB RAM. Unless you think can live on 2GB alone, the MBP is still the better deal.

My only experiences (3) with kernel panic is when OSX doesn't even get past the startup screen. You didn't mention what happened after you restarted.

no. likely because they haven't got a surefire way to determine who are eligible for the offer. if the offer is valid here, they will be lots n lots of people taking advantage of it, including those not eligible
*
Considering that this offer is for colleges - which is what Americans call universities - it's not that big a problem. I think. It's just a matter of registering local universities into a database and have some sort of identity verification.

In windows, we can terminate a 'hanged' application by accessing the task manager via ctrl+ALT+DEL or ALT+F4  .... how do you do that in MBP?

I installed Windows Live Messenger for Mac and it 'hanged' !!

CMD + Alt + Esc

If you've recently downloaded a free screensaver from 7art, take note of the following article.

After you're done removing the spyware, please sit in a secluded corner with the 'Dunce' hat and think of what you've done.

Well, I thought that you're not supposed to "overcharge" your Mac as the battery would rosak faster? Of course, but I'm damn lazy so I always keep my charger on. XD
So, I was just wondering how many battery cycles do you guys charge your Macs in a week?
*
Modern chargers, laptops or otherwise do not "overcharge" anymore.

uh oh.. any antivirus/antispyware for mac to recommend?

The best anti-spyware is still common sense. To educate and improve said sense, please read McAfee's article, "Most Dangerous Search Terms". ZDnet has a summary of the research.

Got something cute from Apple yesterday. XD
[attachmentid=1609328]

This was for my recently-purchased 13" MBP. And of course it came with the ugly SIRIM sticker. It'll be a cold day in hell when I care to bring that anywhere near my Precious.
