QUOTE(damonlbs @ Sep 2 2010, 04:30 PM) Maha PowerEx Imedion 2400mAh AA I normally won't want to recommend unless I have played or test it myself, but since the 2100 ones I have is pretty good, the 2400 could be better? However, someone already did a test and had compared it with other known brands = http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=278063http://shashinki.com/shop/maha-powerex-ime...facturers_id=13 Eneloops still has more power capabilities, but the Imedions have more capacity. So Susuman, if you wanna buy new NimH, try these lor and can report back its performance after being time tested after a couple of months. |

QUOTE(susuman @ Sep 2 2010, 04:57 PM) I have a set of 4 AA NiMH batts which are not holding charge well (maybe because i seldom use it, not because it overused). They are Powerex 2100 (if i remember correctly). If you can revive / condition them and if you want them, you can have it for FREE. Only condition is you gotta come and pick it up from me cos i dont have the time to mail it. |

suffered a lengthy blackout last night so had an opportunity to test out some flashlights.
as soon as it hit my trusty fenix E01 was out in a flash to calm my screaming 6 year old niece down hehe & the maid scrambling to locate the emergency rechargeable lantern. once that was located, popped some eneloops into the eagletac p100a2 to locate & prep for the night. located my flashlight bag, arranged what i needed like spare batteries, loading up the nitecore D10R2 & the dereelight javelin. also located & loaded up my cheapo eveready headlamp just in case. turns out it was the most useful of the lot haha. a couple observations to summarise the experience: 1) headlamps rule. the ability to have both hands free to get tasks done is invaluable. everyone should have one, at least a cheapo one. 2) my e01 is tied together with my swiss army knife. as an impromptu headlamp hung on an ear, it was very useful when i needed just enough light to do simple tasks. really, you do not need super-bright light to get most tasks done. 10 lumens is all you need most of the time. 3) a tailstanding d10 in high mode gave decent lighting for a dining experience. enough ambient light to eat comfortably - not too dark, not too bright. 4) ditto for the tailstanding p100a2 on high - excellent all-round lighting, enough to light up the whole living room. the neighbours must have thought we had a genset available haha. btw, my sister's emergency lantern gave out less than 1/2 an hour into the blackout due lack of juice ie recharging. thank god there was a flashaholic in the house! the maid lighted up some tealights placed in bowls to illuminate key areas of the house. simple enough & a good idea provided there is enough ventilation. raymond |
