QUOTE(stanleyseah999 @ Apr 20 2010, 07:26 PM)
its pretty much quite screwed up on dell's side.

i was put on hold for about half an hour while they checked if i was to follow the delivery date on their system (which was supposed to be today) or as per the logistic company's sms (which is tomorrow).

and then one bro here said not confirm? lol.

hmmm i even asked for an estimated delivery time and they say sorry cannot provide. i went like wtf over the line, did they expect me to wake up early in the morning and do nothing the whole day except wait at home for them to come?

and what if they decide not to show up and come the next day? 2 days sitting around doing nothing? *sigh*

oh and i think the after-sales support wouldn't be so pro on my side as well, afterall, the location's in jb & not kl.
*
QUOTE(emino @ Apr 20 2010, 08:03 PM)
Err... Their HQ is in Penang. They have their staffs placed all over the country la. So I think their after-sales-service can still reach you. sweat.gif
*
I was even in the Middle of Johor in a town called KLuang when I asked them to come over which was the next business day from the day I called. After 6pm they will come the day after the next day making its 2 days. Their technicians are indeed placed all around the Peninsula. If they're overwhelmed with work and give me a valid explanation I will accept as well. Afterall, my engineer came over even after he had an accident, went police station report, then came my place...... thumbup.gif

QUOTE(zad78 @ Apr 20 2010, 09:36 PM)
As for me last time when claim my warranty, the call center straight said wanna take back my lappy to change the mobo. However I still insist on an onsite warranty. When the engineer came to my office, he came prepared with all the stuff e.g mobo, gpu, cpu and even the power brick just in case... The whole process takes about 2 hours and they did it in my office...so please insist on an onsite warranty coz u paid for it...
*
Yes. The same for me. I think they ask first but they don't mind giving on-site. Maybe they're pushing their luck to find customers that allow for them to take back in order to ease the load on their mobile technicians. So the few whom I've met in KL are very helpfull and even worked at my place for more than 2 hours reaching midnight...... thumbup.gif

Seeing matsuo19amon has received his M15x, the number of users for the M15x stands at 26 people, M11x 20 people and M17x 8 people... smile.gif We are expanding and infecting...

hmm guys do you all use cooling pads for your AW laptops?

if so what brand would you recommend? am actually looking at cooler master but not sure if they're overrated.

anyway in that case, which size should i get for m15x? will the 15" suffice or go all the way to 17"?

also does it have to fit nicely or bigger is better?

Yea. Get those which fit up to 15.6" and 17" like the Zalman 2000 or Cooler Master Infinite ... the 2 that comes to my mind. Im using Infinite for my M15x.

What spec'ed M15x did you get bro? icon_rolleyes.gif

alright thanks bro. would hunt for 2 units later lol.

one for my mbp and another for the aw.

erm i took the m15x at 6599, then upgraded the processor to highest spec and ram also.

cos initially wanted the m17x for its specs, but then was put off by the weight and size. 10kg is like lugging a sack of rice wherever you go man haha.

oops. then i think kena conned. lol.

i remember seeing that figure on either a youtube video or review of such.

also another point was that i did prefer the look on the m15x.

but then importantly i think also that the m15x even after a little upgrade wouldn't burn such a big hole in my pocket in comparison to the m17x with a little more upgrades.

humans are greedy by nature i guess, probably no one's ever contented with the lowest specifications. lol.

eagerly awaiting for my unit to be delivered, finally. TODAY!

Good one  rclxms.gif
Lol...thats a funny one. Making up for lost time I'd say. Once you get the lappy, you forget everything else.... sometimes your girlfriend too...  laugh.gif
Lol.... good to know. Welcome to the club....smile.gif All the best trying to contain your emotions and eagerness to handle your new baby.... rclxm9.gif
So far it was within 10days. 10days on the dot actually but it wasn't during a time of part shortage. I paid cash but didn't think that would matter. If you pay by card they would wait for the whole process to go thru before starting on your unit.....
Normally if logistic company SMS you, it means it coming on that day or the next. Pretty accurate.....
Welcome back bro. Where u went?
I occasionally feel heat. But not that it bothers me though....
I get the same thing. My HD prolly has about 160GB left with few applications but games and it takes much longer now to boot up and even start the Biometric Face detection Cam....  doh.gif
Thanks for reminding me. Gonna clean my Fan vents..... smile.gif

Exam and final year project...so nv visit lowyat forum...bt the heat like needle pricking...not so nice...

No chance to snap, that technician fix it like drinking mineral water..so fast. biggrin.gif

Now the screen no more gap and so nice to hear no cracking sound when open the lid,
previously i thought is will be like that but realize the new lid doesn't have crack sound at all.

Overall very nice on-site service. Will see weather got dead pixel or not for this few day. tongue.gif

Previously there is a small gap on left bottom side.

Oh nice. I read ur blog and I see you spent 5figures for it. Im guessing you got the 920XM proc forthe M15x? WOW...Thats nice. If you told earlier, I would dispel the myth that the M17x was 10kg and would have suggested you getting that with your budget, but then again you prefer the look of the M15x and it was slightly lighter. Much heavier in comparison to MBP. But much more powerfull too thumbup.gif

QUOTE(GreatOni @ Apr 21 2010, 10:52 AM)

*
Yes, its using a single fan, the flow at 2000rpm can be felt, but being only 1 central fan, its contribution might not be as significant as a Zalman but I still use it and the 3 extra USB2 Slots built into it.
