does anyone get a small circle on the top left corner of the screen in discrete mode? i could actually expand that circle into a window (with nothing but blackness in it). it only happens when i'm in discrete graphics mode. however, when i switch to integrated and back to discrete, it disappears.
any idea? |

what SpeedStep does is it scales the frequency and power consumed by the processor. basically, it'll underclock the cpu to various speed levels and voltage in order to prolong battery usage. mainly, it'll scale based on the power scheme u choose through the OS. i think workload on the CPU also affects it. it's not new tech. already being used since Intel Centrino days.
correct me if i'm wrong. |

i think i can answer that.
unless u have godlike soldering skillz, it's impossible as the chip is soldered onto the board. the only way to change the CPU is to swap the whole MB. This post has been edited by deathbringer: Apr 5 2010, 12:42 AM |

most probably not.
maybe can get more free gifts, or can get certain pre-configured models on the spot. |

QUOTE(Michaelbyz23 @ Apr 10 2010, 11:16 AM) guys should i update my nvidia driver using nvidia control panel? enter ur bios and select "discreet" as you gfx mode., then u can install official Nvidia drivers.it says this: Verde Notebook release 197, WHQL v.197.16, Release date 3/29/2010 12:00:00 AM. System update does not support the system drivers for your system Please check for an update from your manufacturer's website but u would not be able to switch ur gfx mode. u'll have to use ur GT335m all the time. (which is fine by me) |

sad to say that at least 50% of my games and software are pirated, but if the games are good and support multiplayer mode, i'll definitely go ori. even so, i do not go around preaching what i don't practice. nor do i go around advertising my jack sparrow collection.
lastly, please do not feed the trollz. |

the most common perception about the m11x is that just becoz it can play crysis at a decent framerate, it can also render images in photoshop at lightning speed. that's why the same question gets asked over and over again.

QUOTE(lksing78 @ Apr 14 2010, 01:58 AM) This strictly for M11x user only..and do at your risk nice tip. will try this right now and see if it works.Ok i manage to install nvidia latest driver 197.16 and I can switch between intel graphic i think ..i should call this lksing78 graphic driver ...hahahaha here's the trick download Nvidia driver from Dell web Here download Nvidia latest driver from Nvidia web Here 1.extract Dell driver to ur c:/ ...don install them just yet..just exit by click cancel remember this part c:/Dell/drivers/R253896/display 2.now extract the nvidia driver that u download from nvidia web so ur extraction will be on c:/NVIDIA/DisplayDriver/197.16/Winvista_Win7_64/international 3.Now copy all files inside c:/NVIDIA/DisplayDriver/197.16/Winvista_Win7_64/international and paste them inside c:/Dell/drivers/R253896/display replace them with the new one 4.uninstall nvidia graphic from the control panel (in nvidia Graphic mode) (I'm gonna skip this part cause i assume u guys know how to uninstall a software or a driver) restart ur alien lappy 5.after u successfully restart ur lappy go to c:/Dell/drivers/R253896 ,there u can see setup.exe click them to install ur new display driver QUOTE(goldfries @ Apr 14 2010, 08:30 AM) that's a plus point if you want to game while travelling or wish to improve battery life. i have Supreme Commander 2, runs at a decent framerate (>30fps) most of the time. reach hotel baru start gaming with the power cord connected. i think games like Supreme Commander would probably just crawl like halfway through the game. imho, if everyone wants to play more CPU intensive games, go get dome 18" desktop-replacement lappy and forget about portability. or better yet, get a uber desktop for 1/3 of the price. |
