I once emailed Taylor. They told me that I can only apply for PTPTN after Im accepted into the college but Im not pretty sure about the deffering payment. They did told me that, if I failed to get PTPTN loan, they have other available loans for their students as well.

But to confirm, just visit them, email or call them up.

I am in need of some info on applying for a scholarship from The Star, i have just started my degree in Jan and would like to use my Diploma's academic records to apply for a scholarship but the problem arises when i look upon The Star scholarship application form where it states that i must put in my grades for either SPM or STPM. I thought if i were to apply it for my degree all i need is to hand in my Diploma's result, and there has been no column on that form says that i can. I am a liitle lost right now? If anyone has applied it for using their Diploma results kindly tell me how to do it.

Isn't it restricted? Only course related to media and broadcast technology? What if one wants to mechanical engineering or chemical engineering or biomed or economics?

United World Colleges Scholarship

Read more about it in the Star Education article here and also a personal account from a current Msian student in UWC here.

For more information on the IB, there is also the Official IB site and article in Tinkosong.

I would be glad to answer any further questions.

Sometimes, although you have apply the ptptn, some college or uni won't allowed you to defer payment because of the loan haven't receive or arrived. You could pay first or try and discuss with the Finance Department Head. If this also fails, then I suggest you to forward your voice to the Student Representative Board. MMU once faces this problem, and we actually get our elected person to help us.

There are two schemes. One for Sabah and Sarawak, the other for Malaysians.

would like to know more about available scholarships for stpm graduates smile.gif coz most of the scholarships i know of (namely jpa, petronas) seem to be for spm graduates only.

and does anyone have any ideas on singapore scholarships? ok, the 'they're-ridiculously-hard-to-get' remarks aside, i would still like to know more about the options available. haha.

There are scholarships from NTU and NUS Singapore. Suggest you to get a copy of the Malaysia Scholarship Guide 2006 which have other scholarships information for STPM holders.
