petronas has 2 interviews.. one using forcast/trial results, the other one using SPM results. If you've gone to the first interview(trial result) and you didn't manage to get a scholarship, and then you apply a second time, you don't have to go for a second interview. They'll just tell you if you got a spot or not. that's what happened to me smile.gif

[FONT=Times]This magazine is published annually and will soon be releasing its 2006 issue this coming November. The informations even consists of scholarship criteria, qualification, application process, contact and even the closing deadlines throughout the year. You'll notice that some scholarship deadline states its month only (eg. Deadline: month April) shocking.gif That is because these scholarships are consistenly offered every year, therefore their closing deadlines closes around April of the year, unless they stop offering the scholarship or had made major changes on it. This scholarship magazine has about 200 types of scholarship/loan drool.gif for undergraduate & postgraduate. And it is a very useful & convenient guide that student should have. thumbup.gif

dunno whether is this the place to ask....asking on behalf of my sis....

i read the star's scholarship awards, must my sis enrol first to the stated colleges/uni before apply for the scholarship? or can apply the scholarship then only apply for the college/uni?

the dateline for application of the award is august 2nd which is very very near liao....and my sis just got the result of her appeal to local uni (she's STPM) and she failed to get into any of them sad.gif and now she's oversea only coming back in 2 more days.....anyone can help?  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

some scholarships require u to be accepted in a college/university first before u can apply them. however it does not guarantee that u'll receive the scholarship. the 2 scholarships that i applied (scholarships of this kind) are samling scholarship and jpa(yes, jpa has one like this too for public uni). i got both but chose samling as the offer was better. fyi, i am doing mechanical engineering first year in universiti teknologi malaysia right after spm (and just in case u might have some thoughts about my race, i am a chinese)

For ASEAN Pre-U scholarship.

Just a tip that if you have alot of certificates, is good in English and have over 6 As for trials, you'll have a high chance of getting a callback for the testing. The test is super hard so make sure you study for it. It's about 5 times harder than the form 5 stuff. English is very important too and get IQ test questions that are pattern-related.

But you'll have to think thoroughly about going to Singapore. If you are not at least average or above average in your class when in Junior College, you will be sent home and you are required to pay back all they've paid for you plus 10% of that amount.

I stongly recommend this website
http://www.recom.org
It provide useful info about scholarship (JPA, Petronas, ASEAN etc). Most of the members are scholarship seekers with very impressive results.
They discuss the scholarship etc during the scholarship season, mostly 1 mth B4 the release of SPM/STPM.

hi people!

==Yayasan Proton/Proton Scholarship==

info

yes, i know that quite a number of us have something against proton, but it's a scholarship for those who are interested. my friend is a proton scholar and from what i heard from him, this scholarship gives out quite a lot of $$$ per anum biggrin.gif. the bond is 1 to 1, meaning if sponsored by proton for 1 year, you get bonded for 1 year, for now that is, as told by my friend. one thing though, when you start to work for proton after you graduate, they kind of pay you with peanuts tongue.gif. but the experience you gain from working in proton, it's worthwhile for a fresh graduate.
