I got my 55-200mmVR, I juz wonder does the Petal and Bayonet hood makes any difference? But I really like the Petal hood la, hahaa.... cost 48 bucks per piece =.=

Yea... The petal hood rotating is a bit weird la... lol, last time I oso tot wanna get 1 for my 18-55, there one screw on thread hood for 52mm actually, juz if u don mind it rotating all the way while it focus den ok, haha...

NO.... for kitlens, the only option for petal hood is the screw on hood to the lens thread, hence while focusing, the Front part of the lens will rotate(unlike other lens, such as the AF-S 55-200mm VR which doesnt rotate). This make the hood looks so stupid white u taking photos, it's rotating!! The designated bayonet hood for kit lens by Nikon on the other hand is circular shape, so even it rotates, U won notice it's rotating, get me??

Any pro out there can explain to me is there any obvious diff btw Bayonet hood and Petal Hood other den looks hmm.gif

I think that's not the only reason for bayonet hood, coz my 55-200 comes with bayonet hood, even the front end of the lens does not rotate while focusing.

Anybody went through the Nikon Centre's workshop? Photo 1 or Photo 2? Can share your experience pls.... Is it worth to attend? I know basics of using all mode in camera, juz wanna improve my skill in using flash and other knowledge icon_rolleyes.gif

Get the D90!!at 3.3k u get the 18-105, u slash out the need of extra 55-200 zoom to accompany the 18-55!! 55-200 cost 890! for that extra u pay for D90, u got built in AF motor n commander body flash, which is indeed very useful!

mayb he meant the image sensor as the most important similarity, both having 11 point of focus. n quite a few more.... difference would b less den similarity da articulating screen, top lcd, AF motor and command flash
