i juz want to know which is better between speedlight sb600 and sb800 for nikon d3000 + 18-55mm lens..??

thanx!
*
even D3000 can use high end flash, dun worry that not suitable
i'll say that SB800 is the better choice, if u dun mind 2nd hand item

myb he too used to saying Tamron 17-50, so typed wrong 17-50 laugh.gif
the Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 OS was jz announced recently, out in market d meh?

to me CS complicated is the mountain of tools it have, lazy to rmbr all tongue.gif
use Picasa got Auto PP, then manual quite easy oso, jz a few settings bar
anyway, i hardly PP oso, jz sumtimes increase color contrast when too dull

reveur: cheapest good filter brand is Hoya d, other cheaper brands r jz China cap ayam 1
those cap ayam degrades your pics badly, so either spend more on good filters or dun use any at all

zeist:wide angle converter is a converter mount on any lens to make it capture wider images
example if u have 18-55, use converter, at 18mm it'll give image close to 16 or 17mm
not much difference n reduce image quality a lot, but thats the cheapest wide angle solution u have
but IMO, for casual everyday shooting n standard landscape shots, 18mm of kitlens is way good enuf d
do u really nid that wide?
n there's no common lens, it differs from ppl to ppl
but if wanna know, i'll say 18-55/18-105 r very common as it's kitlens, then 24-70 for FX users

Zeist:combining many images into 1 is called panaroma, u dun really nid ultra wide angle lens, 18mm is wide enuf
n there's no such thg kitlens shutter speed is faster sweat.gif
if use auto, the shutter speed depends on the lighting condition
if use manual, the shutter speed is determined by u

QUOTE(zeist @ Apr 15 2010, 06:16 PM)
- D3000 + kit-lens = RM1,7xx
- Extra battery = To keep as spare 3rd party brand is good enuf, rm50-60
- Lens hood = Need one to avoid flare do u reli nid hood? at 18-55 range, hardly have flare problm, thats y it is not supplied when u buy the kitlens
- Speedlight = Afraid the built on one not strong enough, go for it? Nissin Di622 is good n worth for wat u pay, rm450 + diffuser rm20 + batteries
- Good bag wat kind of bag u nid? jz a small bag enuf to keep these stuffs u gonna buy? the free 1 is enuf, or u nid super large backpack which can fit laptop, large lenses, tripod, plenty other stuffs? think b4 u buy
- Dry box r u gonna always use your cam? like snap at least a pic everyday? unless u hardly use your cam n leave it aside for long period of time, i dun c u have to get a drybox now, wait till u know wat other lenses u gonna buy then only buy suitable size drybox
- UV filter = what do you suggest? Get wat Bad melatonin suggest, Hoya UV filter, those rm50-100 oso count as cap ayam oso, gives serious flare. Get Hoya or dun get any at all, coz the cheap filters oso cant help much in protecting your lens, n the kitlens is tougher than u think
- Lens cloth, brush, cleaning liquid Get Lenspen, rm28

*
C.P.U:Nissin Di466 flash head cant swivel left n right, so when shooting vertically u cant bounce flash, only direct flash

Bad melatonin:i think Lightroom is easier to use than CS
i jz lazy to do any PP most of the time, so nvr install those high end PP softwares tongue.gif

Zeist:diffuser is for flash, reduce the harshness of the flash n give softer light for nicer portrait
this is a must have if have external flash, very useful thumbup.gif

u mean the fake bag cant protect the cam frm wat?
bag can only protect the cam frm bumps n fall, but wont protect it frm fungus or dust
the problm of the grip rubber u said is most likely the person put too much or strong silica gel in it
the rubber will dry up cos all moisture is absorbed by the silica gel, thus harden n crack

dun use cam 1 or 2 days is fine, even not use it for a week is fine too
a month oso can but u r taking the risk
normally fungus grows when the cam is left untouched for few months in humid area
if kept in aircon room oso reduce the chance of getting fungus

thats the lenspen, but its the 1st time ive seen Nikon lenspen blink.gif

the technique u asked, issit pic of 'many' of u within it?
this is created by combining in photoshop softwares using multiple shots

tripod, depends, i only used less than 5 times
other than group shots, it is useful for landscape n long exposure shots
i suggest Benro, can check garage section, got forumers selling it

wravez:IMO, changing frm D5000 to D90 doesnt count as significant upgrade
u practically not upgrading in terms of performance, since D5000 n D90 uses the same sensor
u only get the AF motor which is aint much difference, the only cheap lens that utilise it is 50mm 1.8
u sell off D5000, pay extra to get D90, then pay for the 50mm 1.8, the $$$ i thk is enuf to buy 50mm 1.4G d
r u gonna buy other non motor lenses? such as fisheye or 85mm in d near future?
no then better keep D5000 n upgrade to D300s or D400 nxt time is more worth
n Nikon is gonna replace their lenses with AF-S sooner or later
jz my opinion icon_rolleyes.gif

I would say CLS, twin command dials and the high res screen is worth the upgrade smile.gif.
yawn.gif, me from Melaka too hehe.
*
well, its a matter of preference
i thk when we upgrade we shud be upgrading in terms of image performance
not upgrade jz for those convenient features smile.gif

general nic, If i wanna buy a 50mm f1.4 which 1 u recommend for d5000. I see the nikon is 1800 and the sigma is about 2200. Not much different also
*
depends on which u prefer, mini or muscular laugh.gif
i prefer Sigma bcos of the body build, n off cos the big fat size tongue.gif
but another important factor is 2 yrs warranty by Sigma thumbup.gif

QUOTE(maxh3h3 @ Apr 17 2010, 12:25 AM)
nikon G is rm1500 ++ only right?
sigmalux rm1700++

rm200 gap, i would bet on the sigmalux
they are very close in competition , both are good investment

thats just me
*
where got so cheap??
Nikon 50 1.4G price has been stuck at rm1800+ for quite a long time AFAIK
Sigmalux price always hover between 2k n 2.3k

QUOTE(bad melatonin @ Apr 17 2010, 12:39 AM)
