The N900 when used with the stock headset is really loud, I don't think I can use it past 50-60%.

Do you listen to a lot of classical music or something?

not really a big drawback for me tho, can do a few tweaks on some settings. dont get me wrong i have been using this phone for about a month now, and i love it to death, but the biggest drawback for me on this phone is nokia themselves, they are about to launch meego any time soon and still no official news if the n900 will get this or not. its really unfair to just leave us n900 users out in the cold right after the launch of n900 and not have meego on it

you can wait for the up coming firmware update for that or you can download the USSD widget from the app manager.
but u need to activate the app catalogue first. what u need to do is once ur in app manager, tap on "application catalogues" then tap on "new" and enter these in

You can also install extra-decoders support then you can watch many other files type, including.... JENG JENG JENG... RMVB

I made comparison with the N97 Mini itself, same headset. N97 Mini is a lot louder, hehe

Even my N81, the internal speaker itself is loud already, and if we use SmartMovie, the volume seems can go even louder!

its unfair to compare like tis. n900 beats everything else. 1 thing bad u keep focus. can your n81 or n97 mini response so fast like n900? can it browse webpages like n900? can it be a fm transmitter like n900? does yours have infra?

I didn't say the N900 is not good or saying the other is better. Did you read previous post? Someone mentioned about soft speaker, so I just share comparison with other device which I've tested before.

It's not a comparison that shows which phone is better. It's not like I don't know how good the N900 is...

actually its just a general comment not specify to you. Because alot ppl NOT U they compare a phone n keep going on complain about 1 weakness on and on. If u read my previous post i did a comparison as well

Right now, it's Terminal/Console based for N900, nothing pretty, it's very very basic.

These are actually more for those hardcores or pros, or those that have additional N900 for testing.

I wonder if this is the reason for PR1.2 delays


According to the "experts", it's not possible to have big difference in mah unless the size of the battery is englarged, or unless they reduce some safety materials to add a little extra mah?
In maemo-talk forum, few have bought some claimed higher mah battery but after they check using batlevel app, actually the mah is even less than the original, and the charging level is not accurate.
Not sure how true.

You can try checking out MUGEN POWER batteries, which gives extra mah at the expense of bigger battery size, and it also provide you with a modified back cover to accomodate the battery size.

Some owners bought a spare battery, or you can opt for the Nokia DC-11. I'm using that and it's great, I prefer this over the spare battery as I don't have to off the phone and open the rear cover.
The DC-11 you can get from Nokia shop for RM199, or slightly cheaper outside. There's one lowyat seller selling for RM180. Inside DC-11, it comes with a 1500mah re-chargeable battery and is capable to fully charge a 950mah battery.

the question is what's the output for the 1500mah charger? If 500ma can faint le. If high output very fast to reach its full charge

Not really sure, have to check the manual. But usually, I plug it into my phone when it's about 40% and leave it for about 1 hour, it re-charges up to 80%++ or more, can't remember the exact time and %. And my phone is turned on GSM mode (2/2.5G, with IM connected - Skype, Fb Chat, Ovi Chat).

Nothing fancy, but it does the job and the it's slim, fit perfectly on the iPhone pouch. Oh, it can charge up to 2 phone at a single time (with 2 output charging cable, one micro USB and and another 2mm).

There's 3000mah aftermarket portable charger, but I think it's too big and bulky for me.

hi, sorry i just wanna ask about this phone. for example, symbian apps we can get those from .sis installers. but for this maemo 5, how do we get the apps? anyone has links to let me see their apps? btw, maemo5 and linux got wat connection? why is linux linked to this phone?
