What you have seen is the Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD). Most of the time this is caused by hardware like RAM or harddisk. If this is happening very frequently, you can actually boot into the Dell Diagnostic to test all the hardware components of your laptop.Read this page: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/glo...02EE16785D39C5C |

Hi,
I just got my laptop today and was excited with it. I've format it to Win7 Pro that comes with Dell, since it was WinXP originally. I've install all the driver required by the system (there's a 'tick' on the driver i need to install using Dell Driver CD) However, when i check the Device Manager, there's still 1 'Unknown Device'... any idea? Driver I've installed: R253450 - Wireless R253452 - Bluetooth R253422 - Chip Set R253425 - CPU R253436 - Graphics Card R253443 - Card Reader R253454 - Network R253457 - Finger Print R253705 - Chip Set Engine R260682 - TouchPad |

Hey, I noticed the speaker of the vostro 3700 is abit too soft at times, any idea to pump it a little bit louder? Is there any settings or firmware to fix this or its the limitation of the hardware itself?

I first found it soft until I adjusted that and now the volume is quite acceptable now. |

QUOTE(ladybird7 @ Jun 9 2010, 11:52 PM) Hi, There is 1 device called 'ST Micro Accelerometer' which is the free-fall sensor used to protect your harddisk. Is it this one?I just got my laptop today and was excited with it. I've format it to Win7 Pro that comes with Dell, since it was WinXP originally. any v3400 users here? i have a cousin who's interested in this model, but after reading this article:
http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?...ell+vostro+3400 one part highlights that the screen lid is made from thin plastics which bends under small pressure. quite big issue to be honest then i found this article: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Dell-V...ok.30323.0.html its a review for the v3500, but i think should be similar, since its from the same v3000 family. this one says that the screen lid is solidly built from aluminium, which i think is the case, since from dell website's pix the lid looks like brushed metal similar to the acer 4820tg... anyways i'm hoping any v3000 user can comment on their screen lids? is it weak? this should be even more noticeable on a 17.3" screen. v3400 is looking like the best model for my cousin's price range and needs (plus now only add rm1 for red colour upgrade!!! thanks for ur info guys! |

I have no problem with 17' screen. But as far as the article mentioned, you might as well take v3500 as your second option, i suggest.
