Hi,

I'm about to get a unit for Vostro 3700 laptop, but I have some question about it...

When ordering, was it better to call the sale agent, so that maybe you'll get to 'bargain'? well... i just want to have that back-lit keyboard without i7... which i don't think it'll be possible...

I'm getting this laptop with 4GB of RAM, but I've done a little search online and it seems that even Win 7 Pro only support up to 3GB of RAM...

My question is, was it worth to get a 64-bit Win 7 Pro instead of 32-bit? If i were to get it in 32-bit Win 7 Pro with (2x2GB RAM), will the system actually still run in dual channel mode?

[Edited]
- If I were to call the sales agent for purchase, which contact number should I use? was it: 1800-88-8202
- If I were to made my purchase through sales agent by phone, do they have service even during at night? Since I'll be working during the day... (sorry, i know this sounds stupid... please don't kill me for this...)
- What's the difference of complete cover and 3 Yr Next Business Day On-site Service?

Thank You

I would suggest you call to order. You may opt for 3 years complete cover warranty for just RM119 (or RM116, can't remember the exact figure). That is provided you get the 3 years on-site warranty, if not you can't get the complete cover thingy.

these guys are getting me frustrated. i paid on thursday and the most ive gotten so far is an arrow pointing on the first box saying "order received".

i requested for call back which they did and bla bla said they will call again from sales team...noone called.

those who ordered online. what exactly are the procedures that you've gone through until it arrived at your doorstep?

Patience and persistence. I just patiently waited while bugging them with e-mails/phone calls and silly questions. As customers we have the right to be subtle in pestering them about our order process . Took them about ten to 14 days to arrive at my door steps, where I was expecting around 20-30 days delivery time. thumbup.gif

ok well its better to order through a dell customer sales rep. at least you have direct contact and can bug them in real time. smile.gif

update: they called me today and said that the v3700 series has to be imported from the U.S. and has to clear customs etc so thats why need to take so long O.O

Dear all sifus,

Some question from newbie smile.gif

I'm just figuring out the customization for Vostro 3700 with the following specs:

Operating System: Genuine Windows® 7 Professional 64bit (English)
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-720QM (1.6GHz base, up to 2.8GHz, 4C/8T, 6MB/L3)
Memory: 4GB (2X2G) DDR3-1066MHz SDRAM, 2 DIMM
Video Card: Vostro 3700 Nvidia® Geforce™ GT 330M, 1GB Graphics for Quad Core Processor
Hard Drive: 500GB Hard Drive, 7200 RPM

I'm planning to use it for Graphics Design (Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator), Video Editing (Adobe Premiere & After Effects), and Flash/Web Design, is it ok? Or i need to change (upgrade/downgrade) any specs above?
