hmmm kucingfight and miahahaha told us before that this Vostro is N signal instead of G. wow.... the pics inside web site u posted is from US. the Vostro 3300 got backlit keyboard

u repartition it? so did u repartition the main drive? if u did that, like kind of wasted for the security software.
*
Yes, I will repartition it into C: and D:. I don't like to put all my files in the same drive as the OS. Whenever I feel that my OS is getting slower and slower after using it for 2-3 years, I will clear my C: and reinstall the OS again. This way I don't have to spend time to backup all the files in 'My Documents' folder.

I don't understand what did you mean by 'wasted for the security software' hmm.gif .

The price is RM2720. When I ordered it, they had a promotion to give discount of RM120 for any order over RM2600. A rare promotion biggrin.gif.

hmmm i refuse to answer becoz i'm not pro enuff explain to u. hmmm actually G and N is the base on the area. wat i mean is for example G signal Wireless Router is juz 100meter area (if ur notebook away from router 101m then u won't get the wireless connection). and N signal which is the best and it will be 150 - 200m area. so u no need to worry didn't get ur wireless connection have u have a N signal wireless card.

it's juz an example to do explanation for u.

Now I know what your concern is, because when we reformat our C:, the volume serial number will change and you afraid that Trend Micro can't be activated again right?
When I received my unit, the Trend Micro is not activated yet. Until now I did not activate it because my favourite is Norton, not Trend Micro.
I don't know about other units out there. Maybe some other owner can confirm this?

My unit's harddisk (320GB) has 3 partitions by default.
The first one is a Dell Diagnostic partition (40MB) which contains a set of 'TEST' tools to test every component in your laptop. See this link: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/glo...02EE16785D39C5C.
The second partition is a RECOVERY partition (15GB) which I still don't know what is it and how to make use of it.
The third one is the remaining space (280GB) and is the C:

What I plan to do is to divide the C: partition into half: 140GB each so I will have C: and D:. The allocation of space is based on my own usage pattern. I do software programming, so I need to install Visual Studio, documentations and a lot of other programs.
C: will contains all the Program Files.
D: will contains all my projects, databases, virtual machines and other data files. Basically I don't put my important files into C:

Ya lah, like kucing said, no need to reformat. Just download a partition manager software to split it.

Reformat is just purely my own habit. You don't have to follow.
