Added on September 29, 2010, 11:09 amas a matter of fact , i watch the first 45 minutes of the first episode late last night  and did not see any serious panning if at all . strangely , my Tv signal received as 1080p 50hz as differ to yours at 1080i 50hz

could it be that i sit 12ft away although i doubt so

go watch it again and let me know the scenes that are affected with panning that is so serious that you claim are unbearable to your eyes . although i am pretty tired last night but can't remember i needed to close my eyes

BTW , are you using the V20 or other models or was it the IFC thingy

i will check mine tonight but pls clarify if all the scenes you mentioned are from the first episode Empire of the Sun.

did you disabled IFC and re-check again . if only certain scenes are affected , i don't think it's the TV fault

IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE ANY PROFESSIONAL CALIBRATION , why don't you try to do a RESET and see if there's any difference . the way you describe , it  sounded like there's a serious problem

did you mean the scenes/objects are moving when they are not suppose to be

1080i/50 will have problems. I cannot recall how I reduced the errors. However, it will be there. It will seem like some tearing or juddering at the edges of objects and this is inherent in the V and VT series when it handles 50Hz stuff.

i am no expert in movie shooting but i think

scene 23.55 is the work of the cameraman or camera lens . the maker/director of these documantary have intended for these scene to shift in slight circle for the viewer to catch the spectacular waterfalls and rivers which is breathtaking . ofcourse your head will spin a little due to this slight '' special effect " but i don't think it did any harm to me at least . most importantly, i dont observed any juddering or flickering

scene 51.52 is the movement of the camera and the woods panel looks perfectly normal to me . again no juddering or flickering

scene 1:01.37 looks normal as any normal scene would be

lazy to follow through on the rest as i see nothing wrong which warrant user of the V20 to get worry about i mean , at least for me.

i would advise you ask your friends or relatives to check those scene you mentioned

due to panasonic plasma having problem rendering 50Hz signal, why people don't simply return their HDTV and ask for their money back

Bro, I would have complained in a sec if I really see the problem as you described it. The problem is I don't see it. There are occasional artefacts around the edges of TV while playing 50Hz material. This was pointed out to me by anfieldude, otherwise, I would not even have noticed it.

But nothing of the sort that causes nausea. I can't be complaining about something I don't see or experience.

I observed some hissing sound as well - suspected from the heat sinks, not really sure...anyone got any reply from Panasonic Technical Support ?? Thank you.
