Hi Wolve. Welcome to the V20 family. I'm no sifu, but from my own research, this is what I did if it's of any help to you.

(1)btw, i did not run the video but rather copied the EA break-in slides onto my SD-card (or usb thumbdrive) and played it off the built-in slideshow on the TV. That way, I didnt have to bother running my blu-ray/dvd player running for 100 hours too.

The only gripe I have with the 50U is that it is not a Neo-PDP panel ie it is not as bright as the 50V and the PQ is a bit washed out especially in a bright environment.

on the tv's remote, press the "SD Card" button, select "Photo" and press the "Red" button to play slideshow. alternatively, u can press the "Viera Tools" button, select "Photo" and press the "Red" button. it will loop continuously until you press any button on the remote.

was on the same boat as you. been considering the 50U or the 50V after reading good reviews about them both. but my wife will surely kill me if i buy an RM6k tv (the cheapest 50V i found in penang for RM5999).
but i find it imperative to have the anti-reflection coating in a plasma screen for daytime viewing. IMO the AR coating is well worth the premium.

searched from other makes and got offered the 50" Samsung C6500 for RM4.5k. had a side by side shootout against the 50U and 50V. in the end went with the samsung for RM1.5k less. a worthy choice IMO if you're looking for something under RM5k. better performer compared to the 50U.
try to look at the C6500 before you bring home the 50U. a seriusly underrated model.

It is ok. Just make sure you set a lower contrast and also check back occasionally to make sure the slides are still running and not stuck.

Does that mean you've gotten yourself a Panny? Which model?

Bro, this is based on your experience or hearsay? I'm not a fan of Sammy either but yesterday demo changed my opinion a bit. I demoed the PS63C7000 for 2 hours at 9 feet and can say the 3D is as good as panny (I demoed Panasonic VT20 50 inch an hour earlier at Harvey N). And also, the Samsung 2D->3D conversion is really a Pana 3D killer. And the shop offered me RM12.3K for the TV. You think you'd spend 23K for 65inch pana or 12K for sammy 63inch which in terms of features has more than the Pana? Some more pana gives 2 years std warranty and this shop offered 5 years for the sammy. If only I have the cash.... well....

If awaken from standby and put into standby from remote, no clicking sound. If hard power button, then yes there is a click sound.

Dear All brothers

Just bought my first "slim" TV replacing my 10 year old 29" CRT.

I bought the following
1. Panasonic 42" Plasma V series
2. Panasonic Home Theater ZT 2 (Wireless)
3. Panasonic Bluray BD45

There is a point to do so... not all the ppl can afford a 50" TV (including me) So the point here it to get which ever suits our pocket. Talk about waiting, my personal experience for waiting is 'suffer'. The price of the big plasma esp. Pana will not differ to much if you are planning to wait for a year or two and the end of the day one might get dissapointed because the model might just get obselete. Talk about 29" to 42", why no difference? Size oredi bigger, viewing angle oredi different, pixel also different and finally price also different la.. just my 2 cents peasant's opinion. So, no need to worry if your Widescreen TV is smaller than others.. just be happy for what we afford to get. 

Sometimes it's not about the size, it's the enjoyment and satisfaction Agree about the waiting part - the price for Panasonic plasma tvs won't differ much after a year or less, but you do save some hundreds of dollars on your dream model

Saw a good offer at lowyat panasonic fair today. Rm5999 for 50in 3d full hd plasma!

i went to lowyat yesterday. spent 15 minutes at the fair. didn't see any 3D deals that you were talking about. RM4399 is for the P50U20K. which is selling for below RM3.5k outside.
they were playing miami vice if i remember correctly. and true to my memory, the P50U is damn reflective. then sent my wife to IKEA and spent an hour at harvey norman ikano watching P42V20K, P50V20K, P50U20K, PS42C430, PS42C450, PS50C450 and PC50C6500 side by side.

just reassuring myself that i made a wise decision to go with the anti-reflection coating.
and spent 20 minutes in the demo room hearing the HN salesman talking crap about their Pioneer LX72 with Infinity speakers. they were playing me Ip Man BD china ciplak DVD (whatever that means) that are said to be 90% near BD quality. yeah like i don't have the bd at home.

2 of my friends bought the 50U(2010 model) and the screen have very poor anti-reflective coating. I have the 2009 model which I bought at Rm5500 and I can say that although I pay more than this year U model, my screen anti-reflective coating is so much better than the 2010 U model. 

I won't recommend the U model after watching it in my friends house.  Even a moderate dim room looks very reflective.  Need complete dark room to enjoy...bad.

i dunno about others, but i rate c6500 below v20

Guys, comparing P50U and Samsung PS50C550, which is a better buy?

as I've read, 50U is very reflective, I'm not sure about the 50X20, I think since 50X not mentioned much on reflectiveness, it should be less reflective, u should get it if it's true~

As my unit will only be delivered to my house this Sunday, I'd like to ask the sifu's here if there's anything that I need to watch out during the early stage. I'm a bit concern of the potential burn mark though as my family be watching Astro SD mainly for the time being before I subscribe to Astro Beyond and getting Blu-Ray at a later time.
