I went universal during the "2nd" Grand Opening day on saturday.. it was a blast..

initially thought gonna be jammed packed with everyone else (the grand opening was announced after my trip was planned and tickets purchased). But rides was quite fast.. longest queue was Jurassic park ride which took 1 hour 20 mins.. Made a mistake there.. When we went in the morning, the queue was 15 mins but decided to sit later cos of the possibility of getting wet.. went back there in the afternoon and the ride queue was 1 hour plus.. no choice but to wait..

BSG was great.. human side is so so only compared to cylon.. i think i went on cylon side about 6 times.. Try get the front seat.. it's terrifying.

Our average queue time was around 10-15 mins on the grand opening day.. Managed to go around the park 3 times the whole day we were there. It's real small park.

if you want to go on rides, i'd suggest that you just take a small compact cam. It's a big hassle to keep running to the storage area to keep and take things.. Keep it as light as possible..

Have fun in USS! One suggestion if you're hungry: Try the brownie and ice cream at the Far Far Away area- it's amazing. Plus, the cafe/fast food restaurant there is not too crowded, so whenever you're tired, you can hang out at the place with your friends, eat some food and desserts, then continue! The cafe is also air conditioned so it's good for cooling yourself down if you're perspiring alot! Their $2 soft serve ice cream is great quality ice cream too. smile.gif

The rides like the Mummy are really good too- try to go on a day that is not too crowded for eg a weekday would be good to go to USS. It is possible to go on the Mummy and the BSG rides many many times in a single day!

Have fun and enjoy yourself!

Most rides got temporary lockers right next to them. FYI, the locker is FOC for certain period. If the queue is too long, then you might be charged as well. I think the details are stated on the USS website itself.

I do encounter an Indian family tried to retrieve their temporary locker but unable to do so due to exceeding the period. They got to pay for the charges before they are able to retrieve their belongings. Thus, my advice is to take some money with you. Small denomination like SGD 2 note and SGD 1 coin.

I just checked if you buy in advance 5 days through the website using Mastercard, you are entitled to 20% discount.

https://reservations.rwsentosa.com/default....00000&pc=AUSSMA

I'm going on a weekend on 10 Sep which so happen to clash with their sch holiday doh.gif

any suggestion which ride I should aim for at the start to prevent the long queue? how long it takes to tour whole USS on a weekend?

I just went to USS last weekend and it's a blast, i went there on Saturday so there's a lot of people and end up spending a lot of time queing....

First....Be early....I arrive at USS at 9.45am and there's already people queieng at the entrance...The gate only open at 10am....So once i'm already inside, I can see there's already a queue to take pictures with Kung Fu Panda.....

Skipping the photo session, I went to Shrek 4D first, no queueing cause it is till early....I never watch 3D movie before but this 4D movie is fantastic.... The falling spiders looked real and heard a lot of people screaming during this part...and yeah not to forget the donkey sneezing effect....euwww..... thumbup.gif

Next I went to Revenge Of Mummy roller coaster....No long queue here as I queue at the single rider lane....In less than 3 minutes I done already

Next, Battlestar Galactica.....I tried Human first and it took almost 1 hour before I able to get my turn...I think I start queing around 11am....Too bad there is no single rider lane here and i have to paid $3 to open up the locker....So I suggest you better try BSG first because the waiting time will be horrible during noon until 3 or 4pm.... Did not manage to try Cyclone already cause the waiting time suck and am hungry already...

I did not play any game after lunch, only watched special effect performances like WaterWorld (entertaing thumbup.gif ), Light, Action, Camera from Steven Spielberg (Recommended too thumbup.gif ) and watch Monster Rock at Pantages (it's like High School Musical singing and dancing but replace the casts with Franskeistein, Dracula, Mummies, Werewolf etc) .....These 3 shows are recommended.... Please refer to the schedule performance where you can get it from the entrance or any shop at USS so you would not miss the shows....Oh yeah, the Steven Spielberg show are available all time so don't worry if you missed them....

Finally i manage to try Amber rock climbing ($5) at Jurassic Park before going back to hotel at 5pm....I did not stayed till night because i went there with my colleagues (company trip)....So I only manage to try 3 games before lunch and watch 3 performance after lunch and rock climbing including the camwhoring session.... All these from 10am to 5pm....

I missed out Rapid Adventure, Jurassic Park, because at 1pm the waiting time is 2 hours...I did not realize there is a single rider lane here... What a waste....

I also did not manage to snap photos with Kung Fu Panda and Manrylin Monroe cause the queue is too long cry.gif
There is no queue if you want to snap photo with scary guard at the Revenge of Mummy or weird colourful looking people at Sci Fi City....

So in my opinion if you want to fully utilize your time at USS, go to BSG and Shrek 4D first.....And if you are alone, go for single rider lane at Rapid Adventure and Revenge of Mummy...I was seperated from the group so I was able to move fast and tried quite a lot of game by myself....Incase it's raining in the evening, then you can move on to see performance at the sheltered area....If you are into taking pictures with Shrek or Madagascar characters, do quickly catch them cause they will not be at the same spot the whole time.... I think you need to spend your time from morning till 7pm to try all games, luckily my company paid the ticket so did not feel the pain for missing out certain games there...

My workmates are planning to go to USS sometime this year. I'm hoping to go there during the weekdays where there are lesser people. Do you guys have any ideas which day of the week is the least visitors? I think having to queue for an hour or more doesn't seem to bode well with my friends. They're adrenaline junkie so patience aren't really their thing, you know?

Bump for an excellent thread!

Think any weekday should be less (most likely Tue, Wed and Thurs are least). Make sure don't clash with the Singapore/Malaysia school holiday should be ok

Just came back last weekend, the place is crowded. Bought the entrance ticket using MasterCard entitle us a 20% discount.

The queue is terrible, some rides might takes you 3-4 hours. But if you got the time to kill from 10am till 9pm. Express ticket is a NO. The park is small, but pack with rides. Have fun everyone, I DO.

Need some advice here, do you think I should have dinner at USS or eat outside (which mean all the hotels around there). USS should be much cheaper right? How's the choice like?

As I plan to stay until after the Crane show at 9pm, so I need to have my dinner around Sentosa.

And also what time is the last transport back from Sentosa to Harbourfront as I'm not staying there don't want to miss the transport back (and i don't want to walk either)

ADD :

http://www.sentosa.com.sg/en/getting-to-ar...ing-to-sentosa/

The bus has stop service? Can anyone confirm this. Means I have to go using either Sentosa Express or by foot since cable car is too expensive.

Your advice are much appreciated. Thanks.
