It's just hype really. When teams face Barca they are so afraid of them that they tend to drop too deep and give space for Barca to impose their game.

If you get your tactics right they are beatable even at the Nou Camp. When Madrid played there we did everything right and should have won the game but our finishing let us down so there's no reason why Arsenal need to think this tie is beyond them.

hopefully we will get it right next week
at least try to play our game, otherwise if we bring this performance there it is only fair to say that we will be in deep trouble.

This is what my Manchester United friend said : He's (Fabregas) a good player. Disagrees that he stepped up today as a good captain. He shud know more than that to continue playing. Same goes for Rooney when he played 90 mins against Egypt half fit. You can talk about heart all day, but sometimes you need more common sense than heart when ppl count on you to win the EPL, CL and WC.

"Until the penalty, I was feeling quite good".
- Fabregas, Goal.com
Good player but selfish, Foolish captain.

...What are your thoughts?
*
Rubbish. It's easy for those sitting in the comfort of your lounge room saying that Fabs should have done this done that. He's the captain, he's a professional footballer, it's his job to play for the team whenever possible. And to deny him the opportunity to play in one of the most-anticipated matches this season is simply a selfish notion. If anything, Fabs should be praised for his fighting spirit and he gave us a lifeline.

Some may say Arsene blew our chances due to the injuries we picked up, but bear in mind that Barca lost 2 first choice central defenders too. It's tough luck, but if it should be done it will be done. It's not easy to come back from 0-2 to one of the best teams in the world, and our players deserve every bit of credit.

I don't understand the pessimism here; it's a draw FFS and not like we lost 10-0 at home. A solitary goal will get us through in Nou Camp, and this team has shown us too many times this season that we can come back from adversity. Those who have no faith can go fly kite.

In my personal view, i don't think Arsenal will survive in Nou Camp..
Do u remember Stuttgart?? They excellent at home, which ended 1-1..but at Nou Camp, Barca trash them like rubbish 4-0..

In my opinion, Barca clearly showed what they are capable of this morning. Their passing was crisp and their movement was superb, especially by their fullback. Basically they're at their best with the way they played. Arsenal...we absorbed most of their attacks pretty effectively minus the 2 goals. BUT, the silver lining in this morning's match is that we now know what are they capable of and im sure Wenger will think of a way to counter this threat. Quite rightly said, Barca's attacking is widely known to be the best but they clearly showed their defending can be quite suicidal and if we can absorb the pressure in Nou Camp and tire them out and take them at the break, we still stand a chance. Barca is beatable in Nou Camp, providing if we don't make individual mistakes.

Also, i think the first 20 mins, we were a little overawed by Barca. Its like we gave them too much respect and the younger players were a little afraid to take them on but as the match went on, we found the rhythm and of coz it helped a little as they were physically worn out after the hour as they were closing us down like hell early on.

As for the lost of Fabregas and Gallas, i think life just goes on. We played fine without them and if im not mistaken i read a stats somewhere that we won like 6 out of the 7 games that Cesc was out earlier this year. Rosicky will come in and i hope Arshavin will be fit enough to play.

I agree.. Arsenal really lost control of the game & most likely they can't survive in the 2nd leg.

At least pundits admit when they are wrong and do get it right once in a while. your predictions however sux. You even dare to suggest Arsenal to be like Chelsea and Man Utd....oh and which you quoted "not arrogant, simply better". Which Chelsea are we talking about here....*cough!*beaten 2-1 at Stamford...!*cough!* and which Man Utd you mean....*cough!*lost 2-1 injury time...!*cough!*. whistling.gif
