Good reviews from you guys. Its totally worthwhile dropping into Arsenal's thread a few hours after a game. reading crap from beandy, Cas88 and the likes are corroding to my brain. Yea, Denilson deserve to get the stick, but I'm with the rest of you....he deserve to be in the first team. I'll never forget his contributions last season, for a small sized, he sure can step up against bigger players.
This time around, he got some glaring mistakes that needs to be assessed. Once he realise that, he should improve and be a better player next season. C'mon guys, this guy has quality...don't expect everyone at Arsenal to work wonders week in week out each time. I just hope Denilson will again prove his critics wrong in the coming match. I still remember last season Eboue horrendous performance...after that match, everyone is calling Eboue's head and want nothing of him related to Arsenal, but see what he is doing now? Even Real Madrid is interested in him....geezz. Although......I honestly dunno what to say about Lukas. He lacks that GK aura to me....perhaps that boyish look of his. Anyways, Arsenal is going forward in stride....lets just hope the other top teams will drop points very soon. Apart from our remaining matches, I'm also keeping a close tab on Chelsea and Man Utd matches. Lets hope they jinx it tonite. |

QUOTE(mengdez @ Mar 17 2010, 08:02 AM) Concentrate or not, they still are morally down from the defeat. What makes it worse it that they lose to their ex-boss. Roman might call up CA for a 'special' meeting. For the time being, we should just concentrate on our coming match and maintain our winning streak. |

Like it or not, we're already in the last 8. Proves that we're better than that other 2 english team. That says for something about us this year. Facing Barcelona, we'll know what to anticipate. Because of the draw, Arsenal will be getting all the attention, and personally, I don't think Barcelona too keen to meet us too.

Tonight is a morale boost for Denilson and Almunia. Another clean sheet, another 2 extra point for goal difference. I can't believe it, Arsenal can score goals with 10 men....WHU totally blew two chances....the penalty and the extra men.
Can I say its Arsenal 10 against 12? |

Sergio Romero sounds sweet. Almunia is getting old, lukas isn't showing much improvement, Vito should still be kept as 2nd/3rd rate GK....its pretty obvious from the table stats that our goal conceded is a lot more compared to the other three teams. I think 8 mil is a decent price for an established GK.

Yea lor, old story oredi. Might as well debate about why vermaelen receiced straight red instead of yellow. But then again, its probably a blessing in disguise. Vermaelen needs the rest and the one match ban would only be against the lesser team. I still have hope that unker Sol and unker Silvestre can hold the fort. And if that won't do, we still have unker Almunia who is on form at the moment.

I don't quite share the same sentiment towards Ade as the rest of the Gunners fan. He is still one of my favourite football player and I do follow up on his progress time to time. I hope him all the best in his career, its just too bad he left Arsenal with a bad remark.

QUOTE(rickrick @ Mar 24 2010, 12:46 PM) And have who replacing him? At the moment, Arsenal has thin choice in the defensive area. Yes, Silvestre is waay past his prime, but its better risk putting him than a youngster. I have to see our young guns getting raped front, back and to the side by the experienced players. Its even riskier to dwell on that alternative during this very crucial part of the season. If anything, Arsene should evaluate overall performance of Silvestre and Sol after end of the season. In a different tone, I'm sure Rooney's injuries are genuine. Condolence to the England camp for having to risk their chances in the World Cup. Its no dispute that he is pivotal to the country just how messi is important to Argentina. Man Utd is also at wits end on how this would affect their chances of winning the remaining premiership games. However, I'm witholding my sympathies for them until after the season ends. We lost our talisman in Robbie Van Persie, yet manage to stay on course in the title chase. If Man Utd can do the same, I'll be the one congratulating them then. Until that happens, may the Best of the BEST win! |

Well, its not Arshavin alone who realise that next summer, there'll be a lot of movement in the transfer market....to name a few:
joe cole gianluigi buffon david villa david silva frank ribery torres So yea, I think its Arshavin way of pushing le boss to enter the market and join the shopping spree instead of hearing all those big names to pass through Arsenal and went to the other team. Frustrating to say the least. |

As much as I like David Villa, I don't think he will suit Gunner style. I'd love for Torres to join us though. But my wet dream would be torres, villa...then Gunners can be a France+Spain team.

QUOTE(boxsystem @ Mar 26 2010, 03:47 PM) Pay no heed to them laa. QUOTE(ivanau88 @ Mar 26 2010, 03:57 PM) I would love to see Henry return to Arsenal. Be that as it may, Henry might impede the development of young strikers coming into the first team. I don't see much problem for senior players to enter the Gunners fray in the defense/midfield department since there is less competition (not all though). We all know Arsene policy on our youngsters, and of course he would always prefer to give ample space for young talents to garner much experience, whats more with striker position being the more important ones. As I recall, Arsene's youngster policy started soon after Henry and the rest of the Invincibles disbanded. It would probably look bad for Arsene to go back and claim that he was wrong. Why? Do like what Campbell is doing. Provide experience just like what Scholes and Giggs doing. Good backup. With our record of injury table, Henry will be good. Going to New York means he wants to earn big money before he retired. He can learn managerial skills from AW. What our attacking force lack of is finishing. Henry can touch up our weakness. Finishing from Bendtner and Rvp and some other player are clearly not perfect enough. Freekick can be vastly improved. We need some big and tall striker in case NB and RVP is out. I doubt about Eduardo. He clearly needs time but nobody know how good will he be in the future. Maybe not good anymore Yes, everyone said that the youngster policy took very long to show some results, but it does PAY in the end. We are probably going to see it becoming worthwhile this year. Even so, I'm more enjoice if soon after Arsenal can follow suit Barcelona style of mixing the seniors and juniors in the team, thus having a perfect balance of skills with talents, experience with creativity, and maturity with passion. Nonetheless, if I do swallow my word and Henry does comes to the Emirates, it will surely be on a two/one year contract basis. |

Almunia...almunia, really zzz. Parry the ball for what, GK should be the one catching it. Notice in the early second half, a similar lob ball goes over Almunia but it hit the post instead. Had that one made the goal, it would have totally highlight almunia's bad decision. Come to think of it, a lot of goals almunia fail to save are lob balls over his head. Is his burly hair blocking his views?

QUOTE(aladdin @ Mar 28 2010, 01:21 AM) guys, accept the fact. Why Manu/chelski can keep banging goals but we can't? just because we got bunch of crappy players. Look at the table laa. Arsenal netted 74 goals while Man Utd 72, Chelsea 84. We earn that even without RVP, so that's saying alot about our scoring ability. What lacking is our defence ability....34 goals conceded compared to Man Utd 25 and Chelsea 29. |
