You might want to take a look at the playback devices, which one is selected.

You will need boost your bass level via software, it's included in my X-fi software. Not very sure about other sound card though. The reason you dont feel any vibration is because the default bass is not high enough to trigger the vibration. Set your Kave bass equalizer to max, Rear,Center,Front at about 1/4 to 1/2 level, and crank your master volume knob as high as possible. If there's still no vibration, chances is that you need to boost your bass via software means (i.e:equalizer)

done.

@ mr doctor. Ive noticed using different media players help. Foobar didnt make is vibrate, but Media player classic did

edit: issue seems to be with the xonar d2 as they function fine on my onboard audio. Time to get a different audio card. ( and i just sold my creative pro xD)

Wait, this may be a stupid question, but have you tried turning up the Bass knob on your Creative Launcher, AND on your Kave remote?

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the unit is not broken.

As long as you can feel some shaking, it means it is working.

I used to have that same problem. I believe it is a setting problem. Keep looking for anything with Bass setting.

If you guys notice his screenshot, his Creative Launcher does NOT have the Bass and Treble knob. Tried changing the bass setting in your Control Panel?

I am determined to help you get it shaking, cause it's really fun when you are playing a game and it starts shaking.

thanks for the determination bro.

actually for the past 2 days, after some tweaking, i do feel the vibration (finally, thanks God! notworthy.gif ). but under normal volume ~40%, the vibration is pretty weak. sweet!

@30%, the vibration is almost can't be felt. after trying some .mp3 with high bass, yes, the vibration is felt perfectly! laugh.gif

this setting and vibration only can be felt when i use together with X-Fi USB 5.1 Surround external soundcard. if using default soundcard in my lappy - none, even @ 100%.

EDIT : in the nutshell - i don't think my Kave is faulty unit. its just my default soundcard with is too crappy. doh.gif sweat.gif

p/s : thanks for your recomendation to go for X-Fi USB 5.1 Surrounding. its worth every penny of it thumbup.gif

yup. its seems default soundcard between laptop and desktop is not the same afterall.

TS did all his review just using default soundcard on his mobo, but no problem regarding vibration or whatsoever.

Different breeds lah bro.

Those of us who really demands something out of our equipments just cannot live with integrated sound cards. Mine is really bad when compared to the X-Fi and the Xonar Essence.

It's like you have a RM 10K speakers and then you connect it direct to a DVD player without going through an amp. Where got sound?

But 40% is quite loud. I can't make it past 30%. Too loud. Don't want to go deaf. Try to play L4D2 with it if you have it. Damn fun when the Tank is chasing you and the headphone is vibrating to the stomps. Or when you blast the head off a zombie with a shotgun. Or when you charge a guy into a wall. Just awesome.

But I gotta say, if it wasn't for the product specialist from Roccat distributor in Malaysia that I called, I would have probably returned the headphone before it realized its full potential. So thank him too. I am sure he is reading this. tongue.gif

So did that media player tweak just work for movies? Or does it somehow have an impact in games?

So more questions -

My onboard sound is:

Realtek ALC 883 8 -Channel High-Definition Audio CODEC
Coaxial / Optical S/PDIF out ports at back I/O
Support Jack-Sensing, Enumeration, Multi-streaming

This good enough or should I aim to get an external?

I see kucingfight is selling various Creative cards, is it ok to get the lowest end one? Which would you guys recommend?

The best choice would be the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite PRO for RM330 from kucingfight wink.gif.
