By checking my new phone number, I got some results from http://sams.tm.net.my/MarketingCenter/search.asp. It shows that a TM technician is coming to my place noon tomorrow for installation. Why I wasn't told about the appointment?

Some issues here:
1. The installer did not come as stated in the appointment and the status changes to MISS APPT from NEW.
2. My new phone line becomes dead at 1pm.
3. I called 100 to report dead phone line, and they gave me the installer's number. I made a new appointment with the installer but he told me he would not come as the phone line is dead. I was told to make a report on the dead phone line and wait for the phone line to come alive before anything else.

Phone line dead problem:
Two TM technicians came to solve this problem yesterday at around 5pm. I told them it's a new phone line and they were like and said, new phone line should be problem free. Then they said they have to refer back to the original installer as they don't know what's wrong. Then I called the original phone line installer and eventually they came today at around 10am to solve this problem.

Then I called the Streamyx Installer as now the phone line is back online, he came at around 12pm and done the configuration. However, there is a minor issue, he couldn't get the TM people to answer the phone for the change to 4MB. Now I am stuck with 2MB. He told me to call him again if it stays at 2MB the next 2 days.

I finally managed apply today at Kedai Telekom Putajaya. Applied for 4Mbps but they said have to install the phone line first.
The bad news is I have to wait for 2 to 3 weeks. Contradicts what EZ broadband said which is 5 days.
Have to stick with Celcom for another month

im using combo 4mbps rm160 permonth, if convert to this plan do i need to pay the line rental as well?

Its been a month and they've yet to send the cordless phone over, they really are that efficient.

Update 4/7/2010

I am still stuck with a 2MB Streamyx connection. I called the streamyx installer yesterday night at 9pm, and he told me he's going to work on it first thing next morning. Fine.

At 6pm today, when I came home, I checked the DSL status, it is still 2048kbps. I called him again, he sounded quite surprise. And after a few return calls from him, I suspected maybe he did upgrade the line after all..... it's just that he upgraded my OLD telephone line! I checked and BINGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I still havent received the DectPhone also after 2 months, i complained to TMPoint and they said someone that appointed to deliver that phone will call me but until now still no news.. huhu

This morning when I woke up, I checked the DSL status of my new line, it's upgraded to 5119kbps... cool. Then I did a speedtest at speedtest.net, ~1200kbps... Strange, I call the Streamyx Installer again, he said oooo let me check..... Fine...

Then, in the afternoon, I checked again.... still DSL status shows 5119kbps.. but same speedtest result... then I remembered I configured QOS on my tomato based WRT54GL router before.....oh.... it's my BAD. Once I reconfigured it correctly, BOOM.............4MB SPEED HERE I COME! Then I called the Streamyx Installer to thank him

Now, the next thing to do is to terminate my old wrongly capped 5mb telephone line and old streamyx account. Then I'll ask my Electrician to redo the wiring for me.

Yeah, cause the ctupid tmpoint customer service told me about the hassle of changing owner's name for Phone Line and Streamyx account! Don't get me started on this, read about it here.

Went to terminate old phone line + old streamyx account at Bayan Baru TMpoint. Done. Also I wrote down my name for Unifi VIP5. Apparently, Unifi is now available in Bayan Baru!

is there any quota apply in BB deal? like i can only dl 10GB per month, after that my dl speed will reduce until next month...

I applied for Unifi last week ever since i was i founded out that my area is ready to do installation.but yesterday i cancelled it yesterday to upgrade my current streamyx to 4mbps.

Now awaiting for the upgrade registration to be processed.I wonder if my torrenting speed will be improved.

There is no cap on streamyx, I have enjoyed the download for more than 2 months, so far so good, the speed is good

i cancelled converting to unifi due to the capping issues.i really want to see downloading at full 4mbps speed!

Finally got the phone installed. Have to wait another week for the BB. Hope it's 4Mbps.

TM tele marketing called me yesterday to offer for 2 meg line at RM 130.
I said yes initially, then I call back the rep and said no because I foresee some complication, the phone line is under my dad's name, he's paying for the phone. (I'm guessing they have to change the phone line ownership to my name, the rep didn't mentioned anything about this.)

I am happy where I am right now 1Mbit line @ max 172kbps download.

But the 4 meg line looks really tempting at just RM140, I might go to TM point to see if 4 meg available at my area. See how it goes.
