Hi everyone!

Just to update you-all on my " TMnet blockbuster adventure"...

1) yesterday my line was upgraded to 4096 as promised, and my speedtests showed performance of 3.51mbs......

2) So, after hearing the advice from MFA333 and WZTECH in this forum, i called my installer technician and asked very very very nicely if he can get TM to increase my cap to 5120. Well, he did that first thing this morning (!!!), and my speed now is 4.38mbs! I offered to take him out for teh tarik but he declined... what a really2 nice guy! If everyone in the service industry is like him, then we can truly boast Malaysia as #1.... but unfortunately that is still a faraway dream ....

3) I will post the screen-shots of my speed-test results, as soon as somebody can teach me how to insert them into my next post (i'm not actually very good at this IT stuff....).

THANK YOU again to my good frens here, especially the two gentlemen i mentioned above.

Cheers!

I stay in JB and also kena the same thing...trouble is, the same tech/contractor that told me there is 4mb at my area after a few months say the opposite.  doh.gif

I went to TMpoint countless times but got cut out from this same lazy contractor. vmad.gif
I'm sure you guys know one time go to TM takes a hour for number to be called.

Here is what you need to do, follow this steps and hope that within a month you'll get it.

First: Make sure your area has 4mb line...by asking neighbors or check the modem attenuation or something like that.
The reseller you are about to contact also can help you check it out.
Next: Force a registration for a 4Mb line...once you force it, you will be entering a new zone...its called TM 2nd level...forget abt the 1st level TM staff that only barks, looks good but no action.
In order to force it you have to contact a reseller like ahcheap. I'm sure there are many other resellers in Lowyat forums too.
Lastly: Once registered, your pening it not over...you need the dslam (at the roadside or taman) to be configured (usually using a jumper wire) by a TM technician. Not that lazy contractor.
This simple last step is easy ...go to the TMpoint and complain that your 4mb is still not configured..they will put you to a TM task force make sure you get the 4Mb line and will call you up everyday until you are satisfied with the configurations....no need to go through that stupid lazy contractor cause its now a 2nd level TM technician responsibility.

Simple..just follow my steps...but make sure you do have 4Mb line at your area first blush.gif

But just to let you know...now I'm using 4mb line, it ain't sweet either...hahahaha
*
Yes, sometimes it's time consuming to ask TM's stuff to register for 4mb. So the solution is to check for 4mb availability in your area, then submit the registration. Technician will come to your area, check your line and cap for 4mb. Unless the port at your area is full, that is different story.
if someone interested, I will try my est to do upgrade/registration for you.

But I don't undertsand why by subscribing the blockbuster 4mpbs will also waive out the RM26 rental fee, I though we only get the free call to all TM fixed line within Malaysia???

Now, I have home phone and pay RM26 for the TM fixed line and I don't suscbribe streamyx for my home internet  nod.gif
*
Well, normally you will pay Streamyx+Phone rental, like the basic Streamyx package. However, with this B/B deal, the RM26 are waived and you'll enjoy free calls to all TM fix line nationwide and cheaper call rates to other operator.

i wanna ask about the block buster deal

if i have 1 MB at home and want to get 2 MB line they say we wont have to pay for the RM10 telephone bil right? and get free dect phone? right?

currentlly my bil average 130-140 per month (RM110 1 MB+called made on the month of the bil) so my question is what will happen to my bil then? still they will charge me the RM10 rent+5% service tax?? haiya help me !!
*
Did you subscribe to the RM10 package before? If yes, after you upgrade to BlockBuster deal the RM10 package will be deactivated. You will be automatically get free calls to all TM fix line nationwide, free dect phone, WiFi modem and RM0.10 per minute for calling other operator.

Thanks for the info, YCS.

unfortunately, that means i can only paste the latest speed test becos i only saved "screen-shots" of the previous tests at 1.0mbs and 4.0mbs (which showed 1.35 and 3.51 respectively).

The image below shows my new 4mb line which was re-cap to 5120 by the very nice people at TMnet........

This is a really great forum!

hi WTA333.

I stay in which is a secluded area & evidently is too far from TM exchange (& only got few ports for 4mb) which is why i had to wait 3+ years for 4mb-line to come in! Like i said before, maybe somebody moved/cancelled his line so suddenly TMpoint said got port for me!

based on what WZTECH said, maybe you try get technician come to your house test your line... if can support 4mbs, then TM has no excuse to delay... maybe they lost your application but they claim they're still processing!?!?!

The technician can also check the EXTERNAL wiring from the pole outside to ur house becos also possible the deteriorating wire cause bad signal.

I wish you good luck, my friend, & hope you get the new line ASAP!
Cheers!

If you upgrade to 2mb as stated on your previous post, than the RM10 package will automatically be deactivated upon successful activation of BlockBuster deal. If you still stay on your current package and want to discontinue the RM10 package, you have to go to TMPoint to cancel the RM10 package.

Those who registered BlockBuster Deals, did anyone of you get your DECT phone yet? I upgraded mine through online about 2 weeks ago but I have yet to receive any information regarding the DECT phone.

I heard that we can either wait for TM to courier it to us or collect at TM point though.

sorry to hear that, look like TM has changed its policy, some 'upgrade' customer, they will provide the free modem on the spot on TMPoint, but for Dect phone, only activated, they will courier to you.

The problem here is how long do we have to wait for the DECT phone? If TM is gonna have to ask all the phones im sure it'll take long before it gets to me.

Did you try to call 100 to enquire about the dect phone? I remember last time I subscribe the RM10 call package, waited for 2 months to collect my dect phone at TMPoint. So have to gayut with the normal phone first. that time they told me not enough dect phone to distribute to customers nationwide.

I did call 100 to check on this. She clarified saying that if it takes too long for me to get the phone, I better try my luck by going to nearest TM Point.
I might go there once it passes my billing cycle, which is on coming 25th April.. sweat.gif

Since, right now, even I were to have it i.e. DECT phone, I couldnt enjoy the sweet rate.. so there is no pressing reasons for me to go through hassle i.e. go to TMPoint during lunch hour (which is very hassle).. smile.gif

FYI, it`s almost one month since my Streamyx activation..
