Today I requested for the 3 replacement order for the 3 missing parcels from Amazon US. They placed the replacement order for me and charged my card accordingly and then created a refund to my credit card accordingly for the 3 replacement orders.

Wondering why I'm getting additional refund for the shipping charges. Email from them as below:

All,

I hope you guys dont mind my opinion on Amazon and their shipping mishaps.

For the past 1-2 months i've been reading this thread and i barely see anyone not commenting on Amazon's shipping.

The comments and complaint demoralized myself to purchase from Amazon.

Please advise if its rather safe or loss if i were to make a deal with Amazon. Please share your experiences while purchasing BLU-RAY..

I've ordered crate loads of stuff from Amazon. Camera stuff, car stuff, gadget stuff, blurays n all arrived nicely with no damage. Sumore Amazon takes care of it's customers. Any dispute with merchant, Amazon takes our side.

I've only had 1 prob so far. Merchant fella send me the wrong things. I dispute n he deny everything n dowanna talk anymore. I shot Amazon n email n promptly got a full refund. Best thing is, the barang that was sent, I get to keep. laugh.gif

Since you're the moderator, can i ask you if you could start a topic "The Official Bollywood Blu-ray Thread"? cause some suggested too.

I still assume , i can post happily in current The Official Blu-ray Thread..what's your thought?

Lage Raho Munna Bhai Blu-ray Review
The spirit of Gandhi lives (literally) in 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai.'

user posted image

First Words

Munna is in love.. With the voice of popular Radio Jockey Jhanvi. Life is beautiful for Munna - his "dadagri" business is flourishing, he listens besottedly to the radio for hours every day, he dreams of marrying Jhanvi…

There is just one "minor" problem..Jhanvi thinks Munna is a Professor of History..Poor Munna!
As he tries to sort out this "minor" entanglement, the most unusual thing occurs…

Video Transfer

Eros Entertainment gives us Lage Raho Munna Bhai with an above average if not extremely brilliant 1080p AVC encoded transfer. Colors are well saturated, but never rise to the level of knock your socks off splendor that a lot of Bollywood extravaganzas do. Detail is best in medium shots and close ups, where every little jot and tittle (not to mention hair) on various characters can be seen.

There is an overall softness to this effort which isn't too troublesome (and in fact I assume must be intentional), but don't get this BD expecting reference quality visuals. (I've included in my screencaptures the rather charming pre-feature PR hype about the "new" Blu- ray format that is on most of the Eros releases).

Audio Transfer

As mentioned above, Lage Raho Munna Bhai just barely qualifies as a Bollywood musical, but even with that disclaimer, one is disappointed to see a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 mix as the only soundtrack offering here. While it's fine for what it is, one can only imagine what a lossless track could have provided for the sonic experience of the film. I will say that this is a rather impressive track from the low frequency angle. Everything from the deafening "thunk" of tablas to the lower orchestral instruments is reproduced with subwoofer-vibrating efficacy.

The rest of the mix is certainly fine, with dialogue clear, and musical elements distortion free, but it's really rather lackluster, without a very inventive use of surrounds and surprisingly few foley effects to help the immersive qualities. This is certainly nowhere near reference quality for a BD, and a real disappointment for those who want their audio experience to be as high-def as the visual.

Supplements

Aside from Eros trailers, the only other supplement is a 28 minute SD interview with Govinda and Khan. Unfortunately it's in Hindi with no subtitle options, so I can't comment on what they're talking about.

Summary

Lage Raho Munna Bhai is a sweet and charming buddy comedy cum love story that also features an appealing sociopolitical element. If it will perhaps appeal to the worldwide audience a little less than to the Indian, it's nonetheless an enjoyable and actually edifying experience that helps bring Gandhi's philosophy alive in a modern day environment

By the way no need to worry about making purchase with amazon as their customer service is the best and willing to help us. As for myself I have got 1 package MIA and another 1 due already doh.gif . But once shooting an email to them their reply always put a smile back to me nod.gif

Amazon has the No.1 customer service in the world, hands down! All the problems you read or heard with regard to shipping are due on our side (that is our Customs, Pos Malaysia or KDN etc). 2 years ago when Tower.com used to deliver blu-rays to M'sia, I'm having a bad time with their customer service... it took them a week to reply my email while Amazon only took under 24 hours!! That's a world difference there, bro.... nod.gif

Sorry, I had throw it away lo. tongue.gif There is only 3 BDs in these 2 parcels, so I also not sure what is the packaging for BD greater than 2 BDs. For 1 BD only, the packaging almost similar to previous packaging except the paper used in packaging seem like thiner than previous packaging. For 2 BDs, the paper used in packaging also thiner but the BDs were arrange in side by side instead of like on top of another BD which adopted in previous packaging. So, for 2 BDs parcel, it look bigger and thiner (bigger than A4 size) than previous packaging. I am not sure whether this type of packaging is better than previos one or not? hmm.gif

Actually there's no complaint about Amazon itself. It's more bcos peasant like me can't afford those expensive delivery using uncle DHL. That's why ended up it's either ketam or Mr. Post got problem. Imagine my parcel released by ketam KLIA on 29 December 2009 and reached me only on 9 March 2010. How efficient is that? btw, I'm from Sarawak. Maybe that could be a reason but previously I used to receive in 3 weeks from dispatch date.

Goodness, i think i dont have that much patience in me for my items to reach me. I always like my item arrive in short period and on time. Of course it costs us little.

My supplier sends stock through DHL Express. Very reasonable charges and cheaper price than the previous supplier. The price tag on my sale items makes much impact.

I'm gonna get some sleep as i had to stay overnight at office. Catch up with all around 6-7pm.

Laters..
