Doing a quick run through some scenes of 2012 at the moment. Excellent audio track but I must admit it could've use a bit more kick in the lower ranges

QUOTE(sKyWiR3pT3lTd @ Mar 5 2010, 11:43 AM) Lord of the Rings Blu-ray Ditches Dolby, Goes 6.1 Hmmnn..New Line Cinema Warner Home Video has uploaded the final back cover picture for The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy, which comes out on Blu-ray in a month, and a significant change in the audio specs has taken place: while initially audio was listed as Dolby TrueHD 5.1, now it's DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1. Audio and subtitle information on the back cover of The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy. The replacement of one lossless codec by another is not too important, but some forum members had complained about the audio track being only 5.1, as the DVDs had DTS-ES 6.1 tracks. Those concerns are now addressed. The other, less welcome, change is the loss of several subtitled languages as the only subtitle tracks listed now are English for the deaf and hard of hearing and Spanish Why not go de full hog n 7.1.. same like T2 - skynet ed , all over again.. Oso de SD version only had 6.1 in de Ext Ed.. dont tink it was avlbl in de T E.. QUOTE(arremie @ Mar 5 2010, 11:45 AM) Studio milkin fans again.. Same sentiments as u..Why bother wf TE This post has been edited by dirtrun: Mar 5 2010, 02:12 PM |

QUOTE(sKyWiR3pT3lTd @ Mar 5 2010, 01:41 PM) I have extended version on DVD. Simply say once you see the extended version you would never want to watch theatrical version any longer. So much additional and meaningful scenes that will make you understand the whole story better. |

Probably i'll try the dvd version first before expecting the blu-ray (if it does release with extended version) |

On LOTR..
Since its a re release of an oldie but goodie.. I see no reason to pick de weaker TE version as de first HD cp if not to milk us fans.. N for most fans who have got de SD EE version.. its almost tantamount to going one step back if gettin de TE bd, dont u think? But of cos for those who hvnt seen LOTR yet then ya.. its fine to get tis ed .. Dwn side I see is u'll upgrd to de EE bd when it cums out.. D |

QUOTE(maskedchan @ Mar 5 2010, 05:06 PM) errm ..... actually they're referred to as steelbook, not steelbox. anyway, there are currently 3 known versions which have been announced: (1) amazon.de has each of the 3 movies in separate steelbooks with different cover art for each (2) best buy has a sticker-style steelbook version (3) futureshop has a proper imprinted steelbook version there could be more versions down the road, but as of now, i know of only these 3.
