Usage is not a problem, just that the plan is asking us to pay upfront everything. 2 years advance, iphone price etc.

That's how EPP works. You're billing your CC so that you can pay in instalment.

Otherwise, pay for 6 months upfront+iphone. The remaining by monthly DiGi bill. No CC involved.
*
Better pay the 6mth+ iphone... 2k ... no headaches

unless u want to charge full amount 2 years into CC... hahaha crazy... how come not deduct monthly?

Well, if you don't exceed the quota, you're only paying RM88.

You charge full amount into CC but it comes in 0% instalment. So you are paying monthly to your bank. Lol..

I personally would opt to pay for 6 months upfront.

your cc bill won't reflect the full amount (RM3k+).
they only deduct the available credit from your total credit limit.
(let say u have RM10k credit limit, they will deduct RM3k+ from that amount and will show that your available credit is RM6k+)

the bank will charge you monthly on your bill.

just spoke t digi customer care, its non sense, for the EPP plans using credit card, u must pre-pay for 2 year in advance, total coming up toRM3k ++ then settle monthly with your credit card. What a plan.

Another failure iphone contact retailer.
*
this is how it works on Maxis as well. you pay the total and you clear the installment plan with your credit card company. the good part abt maxis is, you only pay the lump sum of the phone and the first few months bill. whereas digi charges you for the whole contract term.

88 IS minimum usage per month. if you exceed then you pay more. which Telco isn't like this? it's the same for Maxis as well. the free goodies in Digi is the internet data. even if you exceed 1GB quota, you won't get charged. whereas maxis will charge u an arm and leg.

even if u take the 6 months plan ... u are till tied with the contract for 24 months

yes idigi2 n 3 is cheaper than maxis slightly but... u have to come out RM4584 and RM6490
ur credit card got so left this much limit then ok la..

but i feel maxis still have the flexibility...

calculate u paid Idigi1 after u advance 6 months plus phone .. u still have to pay monthly RM88 x 18months

1 more question.. im from melaka ... does melaka have digi 3G turbo service? if they will upgrade... when only will have it? after 2 years of the contract? pls confirm biggrin.gif

so, my summary after reading all these (using iphone 3gs 16gb, idigi 88 as example):

1. cash/credit card
-what you pay now: the phone price + 6 months of idigi plan = RM2,144
-what you need to pay every month: first 6 months no need pay anything if you use within quota, then on 7th month until 24th month need to pay rm88/month

2. EPP 24
-what you pay now: RM159 with the 5 bank's credit card and sign up for direct debit to allow digi to get rm159/month from your bank for 24 months
-what you need to pay every month: digi will deduct rm159/month from your bank for 24months

3. EPP 24+12
-what you pay now: RM106 with the 5 bank's credit card and sign up for direct debit to allow digi to get rm106/month from your bank for 36 months
-what you need to pay every month: digi will deduct rm106/month from your bank for 36months

At the end of the day, you will pay:

Plan 1
(RM2,144 + RM88 x 5% tax x 18months) = RM3807.20

Plan 2
RM159 x 24 = RM3,816

Plan 3
RM106 x 36 = RM3,816

Is this correct ?

Yeaps definitely, just splurge out the 2k+ for the 6mth + iphone. Then after that just pay monthly fee for the remaining 16mths. biggrin.gif

this is what we want smile.gif for them to compete with one another, in the end it's us consumers who benefit.

so hopefully when Maxis responds to this package, digi will then counter again......then hopefully we have M1 like package smile.gif
