Do we NEED the calculator? Or just for assistance?

the last maths test still can use. I'm having one tomorrow. Convener say cannot use. Was like what the heck.

Or is it until year 4 also cannot use the silver one? If so I might as well go buy one myself.

For engineering foundation, there isn't any lab class right? So, do I still need to be in school on that time?

Crap, 570 ES cannot use ah??? OMG NOOO

570 Es is a DUAL LINE textbook display calculator wor.... it's not even capable of calculating symbolic algebra o-o

better ask ur lecturer to confirm abt the calculator
i doubt the students even use the other functions they have haha

usually lab classes starts 2 weeks after the sem starts or until further noticed, so yea probably not for now

For tomorrow's Eng Maths 2, confirm cannot use natural display. Convener made that clear last week thru several emails. I'm one of them who pester her about the ruling. Didn't work.

Told that to her also. Her last email to everyone was a link to the UK page regarding the ruling. One thing I boh song is that the UK page doesn't specifically say natural displays are not allowed, while in her first few emails she said natural display cannot use. Wonder if she's making up her own rule.

Does anyone know about this course? International Communications Studies with English Language and Literature.

If you complain about that, then the other side will surely to complain back that they survive without the natural display.

If you think it's a big issue, raise it to the Director of Studies. Prepare some solid reasons though.

Thing is, I've been using the lauyah Canon one (the one with orange on-off button, this model is very limiting, comparable to the 350 series of Casio) for my F1-F5. I 'upgraded' to the silvery 570ES in F6. So for situations like mine, I think it's very reasonable not be required to find and use the 570MS just for the test loh... But again, most ppl have the 570MS since like forever...

How does natural display alter calculation? o-o Alot of people in my class are using 570ES. This is going to be a major blow.

it seems displaying surds as it is instead of in decimals makes a difference, according to my friend.

Additionally its because the calculator can solve integration problems as well right?

Hrmm this week is the last week of the semester. Feels so fast. Come September I'm Year 2 liao... Still remember I worry about entertaining myself in campus. lolll

Okay. I just bought the internet package from SNS. The premium 384 kpbs for 48RM for one month. But I can't seem to get the WiFi reception from my room or in fact anywhere in my house. LOL, I remember the days I use 570MS to a point I would know the decimals for the popular surds, like 0.7071, 1.414, 0.577 etc.
Anyway, you are now a future engineer and we don't dwell on absolute values. Just use the correct one with reasonable decimals and you will hardly be penalised for that.


All 570 model can do integration, also solving simulatenous equation, root finding, matrices and complex numbers.
TBH, the best thing in the silver 570 is the matrices interface. Revamped and is really cool and easy to use.



Check with SNS. You are supposed to have it in your house, or you should ask for a refund.
