wanted to ask if you guys help check my form for DL and squats?
Searched the forum and didn't really find a thread for checking form (I think).. anyways! just two vids of my DL and squats.. do comment! thanks!
Form check is essential if you do not have a gym partner (like me), so if you're in doubt about your form, better seek help, post it up here. Better late than never.
i was about to ask Pedro how to unload the weights from front squat without making a scene. Chow
I do it the same way except that I lower the weight to the ground in one fluid movement, without jerking the elbows, but the thing is front squats start to get painful on the wrists as it gets heavier.
Am no expert but I'd say the weights need to be closer to your shins when you deadlift.

hurmmm....if 'control' the weights down kinda taxing on lowerback no?
If you want to have your form critiqued, you need to do them at meaningful weights. Form changes as the weight goes up. There is no need to alternate (cross?) your grip when DL'ing 40 kg. My first warm up set is heavier than that. The bar needs to be closer to the shins. Do not "jerk" the weight up. Grind it up. Think of a rope attached to a pulley, and you are slowly, consistently winding, "grinding" it up. Nyeeeeeekkkkk. Like that. Doesn't matter with 40 kg, but it does when multiples of that.
Do front squats in a power rack, man. Do only 3 reps per set.

I think you are bragging rather than being a critique. TS doesn't have the strength to pull more for the time being. If you are trying to make a boastful opener, I think you need to just sit back and work on the attitude. Chill, you were in his position not very long ago.

True. I hardly doing a 1x5 on 40kg last two weeks. Everyone have their starts. Btw, do you guys think that every reps of DL, the weight should touch the ground? Am wondering, cause I've been doing that and seeing others at the gym doesn't kinda confuse me.
Only barely touch, don't bounce the weight off the ground!
As soon as you feel its gonna touch its time to go up!
i always do my DL in totally deloading every reps as per kotm's coach mentioned.
anyway back in topic. just slowly build up your strength. form is more important than poundage. but what kotm mentioned got the point also, but not for your level. so just stick with the weight and work on the form

aye thanks for the comment.realised the bar needs to actually be in contact with my shin.so basically i shouldnt explode? yeah mixed grip is only if u rly cant lift that weight right? thx neways!
thanks for commenting guys! i really appreciate all of the comments! gotta work on better formmm.
bata: LOL I actually had trouble deloading once.so i just squat all the way down n let it fall ahahhaa.

It's obvious from the videos that he is not operating at anywhere near maximal strength. When operating at limit, the movement is slow. This guy just blasts through the reps. Perky as hell.
Which is why everyone needs to read the books the guy in my avatar wrote. He finds the initial loading in new trainees by loading the bar until the movement slows.
You also seem blind to the fact that I have added significant value in my post. That he's being too easy with himself. That the bar is too far away. That the DL is best done slow. That the front squat especially should be done in a cage. That the FS is best done with low reps. You ignored all this and accused me of being a boaster. What does this say about you?

haha chill la bro... just a statement ma. not everyone can do heavy weights wat. i also deadlift warmup with 100kg. haha... if 40kg is wat he could, then of coz, by all means, its good. maybe he just took that for form check references?

Getting him to go on maximal weights without proper guidance on form will get him in trouble. And why specifically 3 reps of FS ? FS needs to be done in a cage? lol.
