This actually from something I read elsewhere, when buying a cooler, it is better to get one that is one size bigger. For example 15" is supported on NC1000 however you are better off with the NC2000 as the NC1000 'true wind-flow area' will not be able to cover the whole body of the laptop.

If you checked, for most coolers the mesh is about 1-2cm from the edge of the cooler and that means only the inner part is covered. It is okay if the laptop is smaller than the cooler itself however in the case of 15" on NC1000, it either will fit just right or go off the edge making less area covered by the wind-flow, which in return, less cooling efficiency. On the NC2000 however, it fits nicely in mesh area.

Thanks so much for your pics. Now, I have a better vision on how it will looks like if I put a 14'' laptop on it. Anyway, do you think 14'' laptop fit this cooler? hmm.gif

Besides that, why do you "cello tape" your speakers?

Looking at the dimensions......the ZM-NC2000 is still wider than my laptop by about 1 cm at both sides..Will definitely fit a 14" smile.gif

Errr...about the cellophane tape... laugh.gif There are dust getting stucked in the "holes"...once it's stuck, cannot get it out anymore.....2 spots of dust already entered and i can't get them out anymore sad.gif So if you're not using external speakers, just cover the hole-in my case i just cello tape it tongue.gif

So you think ZM-NC2000 is not too big for 14'' laptop? As for the speakers, I do agree with you. I have seen before my friend's compaq laptop also have the same "dusty" speakers problem and can't get it out anymore even he used the "gel" cleaner (green colour one) ...

It's ideal to have a cooler larger than your laptop, but it still can functions effectively even if the zalman cooler is smaller than your lappy if you really lack budget...
I'm using Zalman NC-1000 on my Benq S57 (15.6 inch)

With Zalman

Without Zalman

See the min and max temp..

yup...gaming... tongue.gif ..to see how high the temperature can go and how much temperature zalman can decrease at full load..
Snap shot taken after the gaming session...it would be more effective if it's in aircond room...
