Nice thanks alot Nero, can you briefly explain what you did in the vBios?

Added on August 12, 2010, 4:19 pm@Nerodante80: bro, may i know is your powerplay working? and what did you actually tweaked to fix the GSOD? is it just enabling powerplay? btw, i'm checking Ziddy's V3 vBios

http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gamin...-powerplay.html

and his voltage is lower 1.05v for default clock and 0.9v for 200/500, i'm running his vbios, maybe that explains why my idle temp is higher than yours but my load temp stays below 80.

Added on August 12, 2010, 5:12 pmQuote from Ziddy

"First when you flash with ATi WinFlash and you get a fail notice. DO NOT RESTART YOUR COMPUTER. First flash it again with WinFlash with the default bios, until you get success. Then restart and either use DOS method or reflash with WinFlash."

does it mean that if i flashed the wrong vBIOS i have a chance to undo it by flashing back my stock vBIOS?

@nerodante80

If you don't mind to give me some guide on how to apply the IC7 easily on CPU and GPU. thx in advance.
*
I might be making a video guide with nerodante80 once my order of IC Diamond 7 comes from USA. Order placed today and I ordered two extra units. Any G73JH owners in KL who wants one can PM me and we can arrange something. However after reading the quote below I might just get Asus service center to apply it. Not sure yet but I will make the decision once I receive my items.

guys..if i buy the laptop from US...then i get a thermal paste..can i send it to the asus service centre to help me apply it?

QUOTE(evern @ Aug 12 2010, 01:00 AM)
Yes you can

Added on August 12, 2010, 9:38 am

I think GSOD has less to do with TIM re-paste, here's my guide to solve your GSOD

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry34776771

But if you ever need TIM re-paste just send it to ASUS they'll do it for you

Added on August 12, 2010, 1:57 pmUpdates on temp: last night i tried putting laptop on coolerpad coolermaster Notepal X2, idle/load at 62c/75c, clockspeed 750/1000, previously i get max 88c cos was putting laptop on top of pillow, well i guess it's good enough, i'm using Ziddy's V3 vBios from NBR and experiencing black SOD on Catalyst 10.7a, nerodante can you please share your vBios?
*
@evern, when you sent your unit in the Asus service center how long did it take for them to apply the TIM for you? Did you even get the chance to see them apply the TIM on your GPU?

If it's not original then it is the steam version. Uninstall the creative audio driver or disable Bass Boost in the creative settings. If you want to use Bass Boost, make sure to turn on CMSS-3D or steam will crash your laptop every time tongue.gif

Watch out in my signature for the IC Diamond 7 Carat. Only two for sale tongue.gif I'm planning to either get the service center to apply it or get my friend who is an E&E guy to help apply the TIM with nerodante80 if he is able to assist. If we are going to DIY, we will record the whole procedure and post it here to assist other owners who wants to attempt it in the future wink.gif

60 pounds because Ken declared the laptop value for USD 300. Convert to pounds multiply with 0.175 add services charge = 60 pounds.

Laptop in great conditions

Imagine if he declared the actual price mate, you will be buggered. He did that for me too but didn't do much good down here in Malaysia with the exemption we enjoy down here tongue.gif

No they won't but he declares it as PC repair and charges at USD 300 tongue.gif It is more believable if it was a repaired/refurbished work wink.gif

OMG, he is using the Force Mind Trick again, LMAO! laugh.gif

Use any flash drive but follow these steps EXACTLY:

1.) Plug in the flash drive to the bottom left USB port.

2.) Backup all data on the flash drive.

3.) Format the flash drive to FAT32 with default allocation. IMPORTANT! DO NOT MISS THIS STEP!

4.) Download the latest bios from Asus support site and extract the bios into the freshly formatted FAT32 flash drive.

5.) Reboot the system and once you see the Asus logo press F2 to enter your bios.

6.) Under the Bios go to advance and start Ezflash.

Optional Step: Some people advice to turn off all lights including the blue bar under the monitor to avoid losing your keyboard lights. I can't confirm it works or not but I turned my off just in case. I still have my KB lights after the flash to 211 tongue.gif

7.) In Ezflash you will see the bios in the right panel. Press enter twice and a screen will pop up requesting to update with Yes Or No. Press Enter for YES and pray like hell tongue.gif

8.) After successful flash laptop will shutdown.

9.) Enjoy your updated Laptop.

@Viperion: sorry bro i didn't get the chance to see them applying the TIM, i sent my laptop there primarily to change they keyboard and speakers, my keyboard have the space bar coming off and speakers have distortion, they took a day to fix them all including applying the TIM while i wasn't there and i went picking it up the next day.
