Hello everyone,

I know this is not the right place, but I seriously need advises.

Playing PS3 on LCD monitor, say 21.5 inch FULL HD LCD, without HDMI but with DVI (HDCP), use HDMI to DVI converter, will the image quality be degraded?

Thanks!!

No, HDMI is essentially DVI-D with Audio passthrough. Both of them are digital connections so there will be no image degrading of any kind.

Hay guys,

I just bought a HDMI>DVI cable today and a 3.5mm jack to RF cable, hoping to be able to plug both my P2350 LCD and my Altec Lansing speaker to my PS3. However, the 3.5mm jack to RF cable is a wrong one (inub). So I need something that looks like user posted image. Anyone have any idea whereabout in Lowyat plaza hv this or anyone on LYN that sells this?

Hello everyone,

I have 2 questions.

Q1.I'm using Dell S2209W, and planning to get myself a PS3. Since S2209W doesn't have HDMI, I would need to use the HDMI->DVI method. But I'm not sure which of the following options to choose. Please icon_question.gif

Method 1

Method 2

Would like to know which method provides the best image quality, and how much it would cost to buy the converter/adapter.

Q2. Since Dell S2209W doesn't have audio in/out, I need to use the AV cable method.

I'm using the following speaker (picture below)
user posted image

As you can see there is an "Aux In" hole there..

Is this what I need to do?
user posted image
Plug the Dual RCA-to-stereo adapter(picture above) into speaker's "Aux In", and finally the other end's RED and WHITE plugged with the AV cable from PS3..

Am I correct? Please icon_question.gif

Thanks ! notworthy.gif

I already got myself a free HDMI cable from Sony Style, would like to know if method 1 or 2 has any image quality difference, and which method is cheaper...

Before I got my HDTV, I used a converter to connect it to my 2407WFP. No problems experienced and no image difference. nod.gif
