Hi there..i just get my car just about 1 month ago..today just done my 1k service..and i got some question need some of ur help here...well i was surprise about the bill i got today..the engine oil for my car is Petronas Syntium 800..i wondering why its so expensive..it cost RM97 for 4L...im not sure about the grade of this oil..but its 15w50..really too thick..and this lube is semi syn or mineral oil?i heard my friend say if u use thick engine oil..ur engine will be very dirty inside..so im abit noob here...is it a good lube after all?i really dun have trust in Petronas product..sorry if i say something wrong..i not mean to flame or bashing something here..sorry im abit noob about this...

The price is standard if u service at Proton SC, so u are not conned. Ur oil is semi-syn...

Thick oil can give more protection, and it won't make engine 'dirty'...but in terns of car pickup, u will feel a little bit heavy compare to those 10w40 oil.

Petronas is main sponsor of Mercedes GP F1 team, do u still think this brand is so bad? What made u so bad impression on this brand? Out there alot of others 'unknown' brand oil actually very good in quality, so buy the oil that suit the engine but not the brand.

my tips to prevent those stupid guys from scratching ur car:

dont wash ur car.let it look dirty.if u make it too shiny (new paint) then it will attract those stupid people.

Thanks for ur info..but i think semi syn oil is not better enough...but is fully syn..the price is RM180 for Petronas Syntium 1000..the grade is same like 800..15w50..i really duno how...tis is my 1st car...and i wan it to get the best for it..but..my pocket sure will heavily damage if use Syntium 1000 =.="

today just do my car service 1k at proton edar sec 13...

around RM80++ and labor (Free)

but car is still new , does maintainance need? as they ask whether wan maintaince the car o not

From ppl feedback, our BLM not suitable to use full syn oil, else the tapper sound is noticeable (i also don't know how the tapper sound was), if want full syn, maybe after u no longer service at Proton SC, because 180 is alot expensive than outside, not worth it.

Yes, when I asked a different SA he said that the company didn't update their website becoz they stop selling it oredi. Honestly for the advertised price of 39k (basic, manual) it is a good deal to get 1.6+DOHC at that price. It might even give better FC than 1.3. I don't understand why they stopped selling it.

Maybe due to marketing strategy. 1.6 Saga uses same engine as Persona, try to think if they mass pro 1.6 Saga at RM39k only, then Persona sales will be affected.

Same like Persona and Waja, they both should use the same engine, but end up with Waja wif more powerful CPS while Persona only IAFM. (older car use more powerful engine then new design car).

Not market strategies matter for 1.6 Saga BLM Saga 1.6 assembled only available on b.line & manual cos only for taxi. They release to end user cos of the left over stock. They stop selling after all stock cleared.

my SA say my road tax n insurance not yet process.. hope he is not lying...

Finally, I got my car today after pushing them every day for 9 days. I kind of pity the SA for that, grateful that he pulled every string he could find. If he's reading this, thanks!

Sohailili, yes my insurance/road tax oredi hangus for 12 days when I received the car. I'm seeing the SA again next week to see if I can get some compensation. One thing at a time. For now, I'm just happy I got the car.

Btw mine is M-line manual, black.

Comparing with Wira, when my BLM manual goes 80km/h on 5th gear, engine is 2500 rpm.

For Wira 1.5 manual, at same speed/gear, engine is only 1800-2000 rpm.

Ok different engine & gear ratios, understood, but it also means BLM engine must turn 20-30% faster to achieve same speed as Wira. Its like a jogger with short legs have to run harder to keep up with the jogger with long legs. Might this be why FC is not as good as ppl expect, compared to Wira/Iswara?

What modifications have you done to improve FC, and do they work?

Or would you like to share about what modification *doesn't* work? (I heard those fuel line magnets are a waste of money, dunno true or not.)

Yesterday i service my car at 1k...the engine oil is 4L...i thought got some left coz most of the car does left some..but saga got no left?the proton foreman say tis engine need 4L of engine oil its it true?

No choice, Campro is high rev engine + body weight heavier than Wira and Iswara, so they have to shorten the gear ratios for better pickup.

for better FC, dun rev ur engine more than 3k rpm on 1-4th gear.

Damn! you're one lucky guy there. mine burn for like 10 days plus also.. last tuesday should be sending my car here already.. now they dont even know where's my car.. they say monday will allocate for me.. hope i can get it on monday or else ill burning my money again~
