Update info from a reliable source,

The current lancer will not be a Waja replacement model but a whole different lineup. Its a model between Waja and Perdana. The car will have 1.8 and 2.0 engine from Mitsu. From my estimates, the price will start at 70k - 90k. The first batch is a direct cbu from Japan with only minor changes to the bumpers and badge as localisation of parts will roughly take 1 year. Will be out by July 2010. So to any of you guys who want a cheaper lancer, buy the first batch. This car is only for the Malaysian market.

Also look out for the Geneva motor show. Its gonna be big from Proton. The rest of the juicy details are confidential......

Sure or not. From what I know proton operates entirely using local products since the launch of waja. I doubt they would incorporate foreign cars and rebrand it local. If yes, it would be test units for replicating the tech.

BTW, Gema same as forte?

Sheesh.

Who also can say reliable source lah...

I can also say my "reliable" source said that the WRM will be powered by a CamPro CPS Turbocharged. And will only be CBU units.

wow, that means they're killing their own campro. Good for the consumer, bad for their own R&D. I'm eager for a CVT. Hope they roll out the same transmission as the lancer.

Hahahahha...up to you guys to believe or not.....

CAMpro Turbo is currently being tested around Protons Test track facility......will not be used for lancer project as the lancer project is purely a rebadging.....turbo engine will be used for an upcoming 1.6 model.....can't mention for which replacement model.....but you guys can probably guess.....Turbo for Exora still under consideration...
