I'm now comparing the effect of using the ram improvement apps like Killme and Ramblow and Memory Up...
1. Killme > can use to kill selected background apps during startup only... 2. Ramblow > can use to kill selected background apps during startup and also can kill selected apps in scheduled time after startup.. 3. Memory up > only able to clear java midlet memory used... if search through the net this apps appear to be a hoax (which mean tipu orang punya) after i've tested all these ram tools, now i decided to uninstall all... i'm not sure how much it do help in term on system speed enhancement (since it only kill the background apps to release the ram) but my logic go like what i'm experience is that the system react slower during initial reopening those need apps... also sometimes the apps that been kill actually are the required process for some nokia apps like the nokia messaging, email server, frameserver and some like nimbuzz background services... this make me thinking if we killing these soo call background process to regain the ram.. will it have "any" effect on those apps that rely on these background processes or not??? now for the gathered info regarding the use of these ram tools: 1. using killme i can simply gain up to ~60Mb free ram after startup, and decrease later on with some default apps load up like the calendar, clock, message... then will stable around ~50Mb (of coz not all apps been reloaded back like the email or numbuzz)... 2. using Ramblow i can gain up to ~62Mb free ram after startup, of coz due to the schedule apps killing method the ram will keep fructuated between 46Mb~61Mb... 3. using the memory up is totally waste of time... nice gui but nothing gain back in term of free ram... 4. and now without any ram tools install... my ram stay at ~51Mb after startup and then decreasing to ~44Mb after about 2 days usage... but something i've discover is less lag during incoming call, incoming message, menu access, loading contacts, apps startup, also most important things is less minimynimo hickup... so i will continue to observe the phone without any ram tools for a moment to check the stability... hope these info will be usefull for reference... some minimynimo hickup that i've seeing: 1. the phone sometimes failed to call out although the network bar is full... 2. the wifi easily got disconnected although the modem is close in range... 3. during end of call sometimes the phone will stuck abit then response back... 4. when receiving incoming call, there no sound from the other side for about 5 secs then halo halo abit then only can talk... hin hin |

QUOTE(ckdenion @ Feb 7 2010, 11:50 PM) most of the .ttf (true type fonts) can be use and below the steps to get it loaded during startup:1. select those needed fonts the net or from ur windows fonts. 2. access ur sd mem using mass storage. 3. copy those fonts into the e:\resource\fonts\ folder. (manual create the "fonts" folder if it's not exist in the e:\resource folder) 4. restart the phone tada!!! |

QUOTE(konbawa @ Feb 8 2010, 12:08 AM) hello hello cannot work with v40 lah... Added on February 8, 2010, 12:39 amCRITICAL CORRECTION!!! For anyone who use below guide to install the Orange Tornado HS for the v40 unhack tube!! http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1303434/+2120 Post#2136 DO NOT COPY FONTS "S60ZDIGI.TTF" INTO THE E:\RESOURCE\FONTS\ FOLDER!!! Remove this font from the e:\resource\fonts folder to prevent the phone from hang during startup (phone will hang on restart but will able to boot from cold boot where remove the battery for more then 3 mins then reboot) I've discover this after checking on the original firmware fonts when the S60ZDIGI.TTF is included within the firmware (Z drive) and if we have the same font copy into the e:\resource\fonts folder then it will coz conflict during startup and making the phone hang at the NOKIA word....
