I'm now comparing the effect of using the ram improvement apps like Killme and Ramblow and Memory Up...
1. Killme > can use to kill selected background apps during startup only... 2. Ramblow > can use to kill selected background apps during startup and also can kill selected apps in scheduled time after startup.. 3. Memory up > only able to clear java midlet memory used... if search through the net this apps appear to be a hoax (which mean tipu orang punya) after i've tested all these ram tools, now i decided to uninstall all... i'm not sure how much it do help in term on system speed enhancement (since it only kill the background apps to release the ram) but my logic go like what i'm experience is that the system react slower during initial reopening those need apps... also sometimes the apps that been kill actually are the required process for some nokia apps like the nokia messaging, email server, frameserver and some like nimbuzz background services... this make me thinking if we killing these soo call background process to regain the ram.. will it have "any" effect on those apps that rely on these background processes or not??? now for the gathered info regarding the use of these ram tools: 1. using killme i can simply gain up to ~60Mb free ram after startup, and decrease later on with some default apps load up like the calendar, clock, message... then will stable around ~50Mb (of coz not all apps been reloaded back like the email or numbuzz)... 2. using Ramblow i can gain up to ~62Mb free ram after startup, of coz due to the schedule apps killing method the ram will keep fructuated between 46Mb~61Mb... 3. using the memory up is totally waste of time... nice gui but nothing gain back in term of free ram... 4. and now without any ram tools install... my ram stay at ~51Mb after startup and then decreasing to ~44Mb after about 2 days usage... but something i've discover is less lag during incoming call, incoming message, menu access, loading contacts, apps startup, also most important things is less minimynimo hickup... so i will continue to observe the phone without any ram tools for a moment to check the stability... hope these info will be usefull for reference... some minimynimo hickup that i've seeing: 1. the phone sometimes failed to call out although the network bar is full... 2. the wifi easily got disconnected although the modem is close in range... 3. during end of call sometimes the phone will stuck abit then response back... 4. when receiving incoming call, there no sound from the other side for about 5 secs then halo halo abit then only can talk... hin hin |

QUOTE(ckdenion @ Feb 7 2010, 11:50 PM) most of the .ttf (true type fonts) can be use and below the steps to get it loaded during startup:1. select those needed fonts the net or from ur windows fonts. 2. access ur sd mem using mass storage. 3. copy those fonts into the e:\resource\fonts\ folder. (manual create the "fonts" folder if it's not exist in the e:\resource folder) 4. restart the phone tada!!! |

QUOTE(konbawa @ Feb 8 2010, 12:08 AM) hello hello cannot work with v40 lah... Added on February 8, 2010, 12:39 amCRITICAL CORRECTION!!! For anyone who use below guide to install the Orange Tornado HS for the v40 unhack tube!! http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1303434/+2120 Post#2136 DO NOT COPY FONTS "S60ZDIGI.TTF" INTO THE E:\RESOURCE\FONTS\ FOLDER!!! Remove this font from the e:\resource\fonts folder to prevent the phone from hang during startup (phone will hang on restart but will able to boot from cold boot where remove the battery for more then 3 mins then reboot) I've discover this after checking on the original firmware fonts when the S60ZDIGI.TTF is included within the firmware (Z drive) and if we have the same font copy into the e:\resource\fonts folder then it will coz conflict during startup and making the phone hang at the NOKIA word.... QUOTE(PrinceCaspien @ Feb 8 2010, 02:21 PM) mine per lock less than 10kb so my bill always shows 10sen so it's safe to say 10sen per lock to everyone..... for maxis hotlink i can CONFIRMED below is what happen during the a-gps:i check my unbill, 10sen lock for the pass 20 days almost 80 times...... Digi minimum 10kb...even 3 kb will charge 10sen.... That day got watch youtube through digi line and got shocked of the charges, 3mb=RM36++, luckily did not watch the whole video clip or else kena RM50++... 1. every single success 3G internet connection will be charge 2 sens 2. every a-gps fix will need 3kb-8kb of data transfer (i not sure why but this is the range i've been observe) 3. if u lost satelite signal during traveling (under the tree, lots of building, or kling klang) the gps apps will accuired again for a-gps data. 4. so u better disable the a-gps once u get the fix (no point to download anymore data if the satelite signal just lost in between because those data wont do any good for u to get back the location fix, not sure why those gps software soo dumb) 5. if calculated then it mean any gps startup and a-gps location fix will cost u 5sens - 10sens PER FIX... |

QUOTE(rognales @ Feb 8 2010, 02:52 PM) hehe... some hickup... if u during navigating and driving then suddently satelite lost signal >>> "POPUP ASKING FOR ACCESS"very dangerous loh... not including it "might" causing hang kei.... last time i do advise this method then i notice the danger of using the device when driving... so now i will get the location fixed > disable a-gps > disable route error prompt > routing > navigating... |

QUOTE(ckdenion @ Feb 8 2010, 04:34 PM) how to change font? yes.. create the E:\Resource\Fontsi tried d method in 1st page...still not working... erm...i cant find d resource folder in mass storage n i manually created one...like tat can? then copy those "prefered" fonts into that folder and reboot... beware of the fonts files u put in as if happen conflict the phone will hang at startup... if that happen just un-plug the battery and wait for >3mins then restart, if still can't then just un-plug the sd card and restart. |

QUOTE(ckdenion @ Feb 8 2010, 05:29 PM) tried... then have no idea liao... i'm not sure where those newly install fonts will showing it self because i use this method to resolve my Orange Tornado HS issue... still cant i create everthing in my desktop this time wif d font rename to s60tsb.ttf then copy to my mass memory restarted phone still same outcome isit d hackable v40 thingy? hvnt hack my firmware if still can't try to use the Font Router... that way u mostly able to use the new font as Top Priority... After u sign and install the FontRouter just copy your font into E:\Data\Fonts folder (create it if it's not there)... the way FontRouter work is, it will read through the E:\Data\Fonts folder and load priority base on alphabelt order (exp. will load aaaa.ttf before bbbb.ttf) and only 1 font will be load... QUOTE(PrinceCaspien @ Feb 9 2010, 11:45 AM) few games yah, format your memory card and hard reset your phone and i guarantee you can last more than 1.5 days, if cannot that's mean your batt is spoilt. how long the battery can last depend totally on the usage..i'm on 75% brightness and it's giving me 1.5 days.... If you are on v40 firmware did you unlock the phone when you charging, you unlock while connecting to bluetooth handsfree? screen will continue to light up and drain the battery without your knowledge. i'm on 75% and can last 1.5 days woh.... 25% how to see things woh, it's just like you install aircond in your room and you setting the temperature to 30 degree celcius.... with the extra 40mA saving i t will last longer for exp ur 1.5 day will be 2 days... |

QUOTE(Xploit Machine @ Feb 9 2010, 03:22 PM) Nokia Editor wow Nokia Editor - Cook Your Own Firmware Nokia Editor is a great tool that you can use to extract the ROFS2 from firmware files and then edit it. After you have made your modifications you can simple repack it and flash the firmware file to your phone, allowing you to have modifications such as fonts and pre installed applications, even after a hard reset or format! http://www.1filesharing.com/download/1EWOM6E8/Nokia Editor.rar now u have option to touch ure Z drive, drag drop edit and flash ! then sure later someone will flash in the Ovi Map too... then tada!! our tube C: easily up to >80Mb free |
