Yes yes, your fallout character is a cloned supersoldier with a twin cloned brother who you killed but has a remaining appendage attached to a mastermind in the hopes of securing nanotechnologies killswitch to conquer the world via nanodrones embedded in private mercenaries worldwide while you try to stop the mastermind you are aided by a cybernetic pretty boy whose memories may have been false but its ok your opponents include trauma victims encased in robot suits modelled after japanese fetish animals and some bisexual vampire ok fine you killed them but your genetic father's body is still there somewhere so you retrieve him and resurrect him for some weird epic death scene and lets you wonder wtf oh yeah the cybernetic pretty boy de-cyborged himself so thats cool too

OK, calm down. I already admitted to liking their games, just that the comapny didn't last very long. ToEE was good too, actually. I still have a copy of that game and I'm thinking of installing that.
*
TOEE pales in comparison to Arcanum and VTMB. I also have a copy of the game locked away somewhere...

I'm disappointed that Mark Morgan is not composing the music for New Vegas. That said, no doubt the quality of dialogues in New Vegas will be significantly better than FO3 since Obsidian has better writers. Obsidian also hired a modder who is familiar with the Gamebryo engine to iron out any quirks (as you all know, the Gamebryo engine is as problematic as a Proton Waja).

Anyone remember those deathclaws shooting up like a rocket? One second it was coming for me and then, *foosh* it went straight up to the sky :s

<MASSIVE FACEPALM>

I do not understand why Malaysians seemed to vilify KoTOR 2 that much.
Yes, it didn't have a proper finale (Because the publishers rushed them to finish it)
Yes, it had a lot of hanging side quests (Same reason as above)

But it was so much better than the first game:
Kreia alone was well worth the price of admission (Never have I seen a more morally ambiguous character in an RPG done so well)
The ability to make almost everyone in your squad into a jedi/sith was beautifully done.
One of the first PC RPGs that actually gets morality right (Which up until Mass Effect, Bioware seemed to screw up as well)

KoTOR 2 may have been a lot of things, but it certainly wasn't that confusing (Especially early on).

NWN2 was also a pretty damned good RPG. (One of my favourite characters is that they actually nailed a Lawful Evil NPC perfectly)

I'm a massive Obsidian fanboy and I am happily awaiting the release of Alpha Protocol. biggrin.gif

Hehe, i still have KoTOR 2 in my PC, the last time i touched it was the time i started playing Stalker.
I do agree its moral (karma/reputation) function is perfect even Mass Effect doesn't have anything close to it, in KoTOR 2 the moral system actually makes use of the dialogs or events you encounter which i liked playing dark side most of the time by throwing people down the hole "sparta" style to solve conflict etc.

On the NWN2 , i gotta try it when i get a copy of it lol.

i hope they hired Hideo Kojima for Fallout 3. Then, we got plenty of amazing characters and twisted storyline. biggrin.gif
*
If Kojima is doing the story then its screwed unless its a full action genre Fallout, i don't mind if it comes with some real-time introduction cut-scenes. As long its not overdone then I'm fine with it.

Personally, Inon Zur did well in FO3 and Crysis on the music part but if Mark Morgan is back, it's better instead !
Dialogs are one of the let down in FO3, it brings TES : Oblivion into fallout 3, i try not to go into details as there is enough fights or disagreements on what happened to fallout, lol.
Gamebryo is like a old man in an young lady in disguise comparing to any flexible engines we have currently but wtf , they do need an in-house engine for their own games though. I wonder what will it be when they use third party engine like Cryengine 2/3 ? I bet it'll be full of OMFGWTFBBQSAUCEMYPCCANTRUN48709GTX250MINIMUMONMEDIUM.

Btw, gonna pick up where i left few years ago since the last time i've browse through NMA-fallout.com.
Anyway, i just hope not to get stuck in certain places like how it happens to me most of the time in oblivion or FO3.

Except when it didn't want to wipe out your hard drive every time you saved.

I kid, I kid... it was a rare exception.

Troika suffered the same fate as John Romero; Good designers, not enough technical know how.

wow, gonna google for that rare bug.

Sad eh, I always see troika had potential.

I'd rather have Hanz Zimmer compose music for my games.

What obsidian done so far, i can see  a few like NWN2 and some of its expansion which i never tried NWN2 personally (mostly because i've lost alot faith in PC-RPG, someone please enlighten me)
*

NWN2 was ok even though a bit buggy but it's expansion Mask Of The Betrayer has one of the best storyline i ever played thumbup.gif

As for Fallout New Vegas, it might actually be good. maybe there'll be Fallout Miami next tongue.gif

Maybe just for the combat portion.

I don't believe that is gonna work in the RPG portion of the game.

"Wait, I gotta speak to this NPC."

"Damn, we are going without you."

heck the ingame graphic looks so much like FO3 = =
i thought it would be much better looking since it's done by different developers

Actually i kinda hope they do have multiplayer mode or co-op mode in FO, at least allowing players who have their single mode scavenged or pre-supplied equipments into combat in MP.
Most of the time in fallout, i just finish the game 2 or 3 times and leave it there like there's not much revisiting reasons anymore but for the sake of remembering it. lol
Also DLC for SP games makes developers lazy and gives publisher more chances of making more money out of it.
This bogs the initial vanilla game down to plain boring game without DLC where back in the old times before DLC for SP exists, most games are well done and packed altogether instead of missing out stuffs for the DLC.

Like FO3, you're supposed to have the first two DLC included in the game itself instead of making it as a DLC plus the game is shitty enough with some problems.
DLC for Multiplayer mode however is a must have, it sure enhances the game play by providing more maps and items.

Well if you're judging from the game's object graphics, then its purely not the developers fault due to the fact in order to save time and resource they just need to re-use the previous game assets,
but if you're judging the design of the environments then its either the environment designer's fault for making something look so simillar (but heck, its a waste land, it will looks the same since its full of scrap metals),
if you're judging the graphics as a whole then you should look into what engine they're using and obviously they ain't using any other game engines than their own.

Knights of the Old Republic 2 (better than the first in my opinion).

Neverwinter Nights 2 (better than the first in my opinion, especially the first expansion. Didn't bother with the 3rd).

Oblivion (silly game)

Fallout 3 (silly game)

Fallout New Vegas (should be good laugh.gif )
