I hope they use elements from Van Buren.

The story was pretty interesting from what I've read previously.

Can some1 give me some directions as to where I can get my hands on a copy of KOTOR 2? I finished the 1st, but never got the chance to play KOTOR 2(no PC at that time)

I have seen in Australia before quite awhile back.

Maybe you can ask Cheese to buy it for you.

Why? They were once Black Isle. Josh Sawyer himself is heading this project. Remember he was the head of Fallout 3, codenamed: Van Buren years ago before Interplay shut them down and sold the licensing to Bethesda. This should be better than Bethesda's FO3, I think.

Edit: Oops, stupid post from me. This has been covered in the initial post, I just read it all.  tongue.gif

Flagship Studios, the creator of Hellgate: London, were also ex-staff if Blizzard. Look at how awesome and successful the game is now.

Yes, I know. Not every big name in the industry make it. Even Leonard Boyarsky failed before at Troika but I thought Obsidian has a decent track record.

Edit: I want to add that I enjoyed playing Troika games rclxms.gif

Ion Storm Austin, creator of Deus Ex, were also ex-staff of Looking Glass Studios. That game is awesome, so what's your point?

Don't judge a game before it's released.

There were a few hits that I expected them to suck but didn't.

Where is Ion Storm now?

Btw i prefer Bethesda to do it instead of Obsidian, since they are more experienced in making open world RPG games (name any other developer who does that). Besides, I prefer to have my NPCs not be confused on whether they are supposed to be good guys or bad guys

Quite irrelevant actually since they were actually around for 5 years (After producing 2 more big titles) and the studio was closed because Eidos wanted to remove the Ion Storm branding after Romero screwed it up. My point was, just because someone breaks away from a big company, doesn't mean their games would automatically suck (As you were implying)

Also, I think you're mixing up you being confused about an NPC's morality compass rather than the NPC's themselves. Even then, if well written, could be a great character.

He did not fail. This is blasphemy. This is madness...

Troika made Arcanum and Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines, both of which are spectacular even until today.

OK, calm down. I already admitted to liking their games, just that the comapny didn't last very long. ToEE was good too, actually. I still have a copy of that game and I'm thinking of installing that.

The one thing promising about FO3:NV is in its location "New Vegas", that alone opens up to ALOT of opportunities. One of my biggest gripe about FO3 was that, even though the map was large, there wasn't much to do or see other than quests and alot of shooting. What's the point in seeing a destroyed Washington DC or Town Hall or Lincoln Memorial? People from the states might relate to that but I don't see the point. Back in FO2, we had New Reno cluttered with its gambling spots, whores, boxing arenas, plus we had other interesting places like the chinatown town(cant remember the name) and NCR,the setting was very varied. In FO3 we had.....Megaton.

So ya, Obsidian already has a good start with the location alone, hope they have to production values to make it great, fingers crossed

Except when it didn't want to wipe out your hard drive every time you saved.

I kid, I kid... it was a rare exception.

Troika suffered the same fate as John Romero; Good designers, not enough technical know how.

Yes yes, your fallout character is a cloned supersoldier with a twin cloned brother who you killed but has a remaining appendage attached to a mastermind in the hopes of securing nanotechnologies killswitch to conquer the world via nanodrones embedded in private mercenaries worldwide while you try to stop the mastermind you are aided by a cybernetic pretty boy whose memories may have been false but its ok your opponents include trauma victims encased in robot suits modelled after japanese fetish animals and some bisexual vampire ok fine you killed them but your genetic father's body is still there somewhere so you retrieve him and resurrect him for some weird epic death scene and lets you wonder wtf oh yeah the cybernetic pretty boy de-cyborged himself so thats cool too
