im not really sure, since i don't have C3... there is no documentation on what he done so we cannot confirm it yet.. it's also possible if he uses a better sub with lower impedance. it will quickly raise the bass output but will probably overheat the C3 amp when blasted.

but at least the good thing about C3 is that it is not muddy like say R501 when the bass is set to max in the console. what bass setting u using now?
*
bass setting i think 4, and treble 3.
for the bass, maxed but not soo muddy i think.

please note for Edifier speakers with EIDC (similar to auto-gain control), you cannot set the bass too much otherwise the EIDC circuitry will kick in and thinks that it causes distortion. this explains the soften volume (one-pass equalization sound) effect.

affected speakers are Edifier Components speakers (such as C3, C2, HCS2330, etc) and MP300 so far that I know.

since HCS2330 features EIDC I am pretty sure you can't set too much bass otherwise it will be normalized by EIDC and causes unpleasant sound effect.

vaizard, you can try adding +7dB to the 55hz and click auto-level (to prevent clipping) and check if you hear any wobble audio effect when you are listening to songs.

if the wobble sound effect appears, reduce the 55hz one level and click auto-level again. repeat until you have found there are no wobble sound effect.

to make it simple, wobble sound effect is the filter sound, when the sound is loud and being 'pushed' to be softer and delayed, creating unpleasant effect.

using edifier MP300+ (also with EIDC), i have no problem with adding +7dB to the 55hz.

hmm yes i do also have listen to ACS45.1 before but i think it has been damaged so i don't really know well. ADA885 the bass is not so loud, but is deep, that's why i like it. it really goes down to 27hz (depends on the room) which is important for me. now i keep the ADA885, just upgraded to megaworks 550.

hi, well as always, with foobar2000 EQ i only encourage to increase the 55hz slider only. and you must click auto-level. thing is, im not sure about DA5000Pro, whether it has EIDC like Edifier C3 or not. because if it has EIDC, im sorry but foobar2000 will not be able to add much bass.

typically, this is what i used:

but with different speakers and different room acoustic, i can use other settings too. if you want more punch, try to relocate the subwoofer. do note that different room have different sound feedback. i.e. small rooms with thick concrete wall will cause the bass to be over-boomy. in this case, it's not the speakers' fault.

Thanks nismo91,
I'll give it try the setting, info: DA 5000PRO don't have EIDC. I think I have to consider to minimize the wall reflection also as I have limited space for placing the big sub size in my room..

and one more thing: im not sure about DA5000Pro, but in my old Edifier R501, adding the bass does not equal to adding more boom.

instead, it just add more midbass which causes boomy and muddy bass, so i kept the bass at 5/9 (default). so i suggest you play with the bass settings while keep the foobar2000 at +10hz @ 55hz.

Great update,
I use your recommendation to minimize the super boomy bass from my stereo set (old tape recorder) combine with foobar2k, and it's work so well.. rclxms.gif
btw, my DA5000 PRO is now have much better bass quality, feel solid. It was actually haven't burned in since it was a new set..

haha glad you appreciate it... not all speakers are perfect, sometimes we have to do something about it.

dont worry about burning in... just listen to it with more bass (from foobar2000) and sooner or later you'll notice it sound much better than when you just bought it... hope you enjoy the speaker.. thumbup.gif

hi guys,
I'm using C3, so the bass can't be increase very high or the sound will sound weird sweat.gif , ie. the singer's voice become silent a little on each kick of the bass (at first i thought pc/mobo spoilt, then found out its caused by the EIDC).
Now just started using Real Bass Exciter DSP, anyone else tried this? nod.gif
