http://www.rockynewsnow.info/ - Its a modified version from NewsNow and concentrate solely for arsenal.. It also filtered out most crap, unreliable stuff from the blogosphere .. And best feature which still chuckled me, renamed some team/ sites to funny names .. that one you will have read yourself, it wont be much of a problem to know the original team anyway if you are an Arsenal's supporter for a while.

or follow good quality arsenal blogs which often have good insight and fan-written articles:

The Emotional Highbury and The Grand Ashburton Grove

Highbury 1913-2006

For the majority of their time in south-east London, Arsenal played at the Manor Ground in Plumstead, a three-year period at the nearby Invicta Ground between 1890 and 1893 excepted. The Manor Ground was initially just a field, but the club installed stands and terracing in time for their first Football League match in September 1893. They played their home games there for the next twenty years (with two exceptions in 189495), until the move to north London in 1913.

Arsenal Stadium, widely referred to as Highbury, was Arsenal's home from September 1913 until May 2006. The original stadium was designed by the renowned football architect Archibald Leitch, and had a design common to many football grounds in the UK at the time, with a single covered stand and three open-air banks of terracing. In the 1930s, the entire stadium was given a massive overhaul, with new Art Deco West and East stands constructed, opening in 1932 and 1936 respectively; in addition, the North Bank terrace had a roof added, which was later bombed during World War II and not restored until 1956.

At its peak, Highbury could hold over 60,000 spectators, and had a capacity of 57,000 until the early 1990s. The Taylor Report and Premier League regulations forced Arsenal to convert Highbury into an all-seater in time for the 199394 season, reducing the capacity to 38,419 seated spectators. This capacity had to be reduced further during Champions League matches to accommodate additional advertising hoardings, so much so that for two seasons (199899 and 199900) Arsenal played Champions League home matches at Wembley, which could house more than 70,000 spectators.

Final moments - the emotions run high in Highbury

Ashburton Grove 2007-present

Expansion of Highbury was restricted because the East Stand had been designated as a Grade II listed building and the other three stands were close to residential properties. These limitations have prevented the club from maximising the revenue that their domestic form could have brought in recent seasons. After considering various options, in 2000 Arsenal proposed building a new 60,000-seater stadium at Ashburton Grove, since renamed the Emirates Stadium, about 500 metres south-west of Highbury. The project was initially delayed by red tape and rising costs, but construction was completed in July 2006, in time for the start of the 200607 season. The stadium is named after its sponsors, the airline company Emirates, with whom the club signed the largest sponsorship deal in English football history, worth approximately 100 million; however some fans refer to the ground as Ashburton Grove, or the Grove, as they do not agree with corporate sponsorship of stadium names. The stadium will be officially known as Emirates Stadium until at least 2012, and the airline will be the club's shirt sponsor until the end of the 201314 season.

Dangerous! Man utd are very, very dangerous near the box. Thx god Gallas was at the right time.

Added on February 1, 2010, 12:33 amThat's weird. When Song was dribbling towards the goal, no one tried to intercept him. If that was diaby, he'd sure shoot a curl.

I rather have Mannone and Ramsey anytime.

And Arshavin he misses everything to do eh ?

I'm no manager really. And I'm no Beandy or Casnova or whatever.

But its plain for everyone to see what our problem is. We attack through the middle. We can't defend on the wings.

Look at how we tippy-tappy around the penalty box. Even a backup pair in Brown and Evans have got nothing to fear!

Arsenal doesnt produce clear cut chance maybe because there are no natural striker and the player is physically smaller. But West Brown pairing with Jonathan Evans i think Arsenal can score more goals in the 2nd half.

Denilson keep lost focus pass few matches with his jogging technique.

Expect someone to be sub in for him very soon already.

Now is either gung ho mode or play for draw.

Arshavin has been a selfish B*stard today. Blinded by the glory lights perhaps. Playing for himself rather than the team today IMO.

The turning point or points perhaps was Andrey not laying the ball off to other better positioned teammates in our early chances. Had one gone in it would have been a whole different ball game from then on.

We need more options up front... already a few times we tried to cross into the box but no one's there to attack the ball and try to put it into the net.

Man Utd only needed to crowd the center and we have lots of trouble cutting in from the wings.

And as far as I see for the first half, Man Utd players want the victory much more than us. What is going on with our players?

Sad to say- we are not losing to a strong MU side.
We got ourself to blame.

Of all ppl, i wonder how does Rooney got the ball on a stray MU defending kick? Com'on ppl, we are giving them far too much space.

man utd full squad play with 110% spirit but arsenal is only like half of the players play with that spirit.

I've always had the opinion that Denilson does not offer anything to the team.

Now he cost the team.

And Almunia... What can I say? If you look at our past successes, it has always been won on the back of great goalkeepers. One was a crazy German and the earlier one was a solid, moustached Englishman.

The formerly crazy-haired Spaniard is not the way to go... And neither is his backup.

Personally, I feel we have sufficient attacking options, we just need to focus on defence and mid field. Arshavin n rosicky can terrorize the front on counter attacking. If we rush 2nd half for all out attack, man utd will expect that already. C'mon Gunners, keep it cool and trust your captain. Set the rhythm instead of following man utd.

I think the first goal was not entirely Almunia fault. Other keepers might have done the same. Even if Almunia didn't touch the ball, PJS was there to score.

haih... the second goal was a naive play from Arsenal. I am speechless with that counter attack.

No subs is required. Just hope that Denilson learns his lesson smile.gif

Problem with all out attack is while we are busy passing the ball around their box looking for a way in, MU will just counter us like they did on the 2nd goal. Could easily get humiliated.

This time around nobody can defend Almunia no more

he lost concentration and looks like he don't get enough of sleep! It's not like the sun is shining so bright that it blocks his eye sights.

He don't even pay attention on opposition's position and clueless on the def whereabouts. It's like in practice match where he simply works alone and alone only. Disastrous

Otherwise, the team works well, but confidence is getting low when everyone is blaming each other for mistakes, ON THE PITCH!

Arshavin is capable of run with the ball himself, but the prob is, his teammate has a bigger chance in front of the goal and he should've pass them the ball, 4 times!

The team play better than Man Utd does but they simply not consistent enough! They get frustrated easily and looked rusty. Though Song picked up a yellow card, he performed better than any of his teammates on the pitch.

Fab should stop whining on the pitch after miss pass ball and just carry on with the game...

hope 2nd half we'll see a Almunia gets a dose of 'Wake Up' treatment from Wenger and the rest communicates better on the pitch! Go Gunners!

I guess that is karma. tongue.gif We used to score this kind of goals from Henry

Problem with all out attack is while we are busy passing the ball around their box looking for a way in, MU will just counter us like they did on the 2nd goal. Could easily get humiliated.
*
This has always been our style of play. Suddenly playing fast attack diminishes our passing flair. Counter attack is expected, but look at the 2nd goal. Gallas was all the way in front, leaving vermy to catch after park and rooney.

I am once again speechless with MU counter attack sad.gif

Do not blame those who have given up the match. It requires a lot to believe that we can still get something from the match.

My only hopes are that we stop MU from scoring again and we stop VDS from getting a clean sheet.

THAT'S IT!

lucky that i didn't have high hopes of arsenal winning the title this year since the beginning of the season...so not too disappointed la..

dunno about you guys, but those winning streaks doesn't actually impress me as i know the will be like *tikus* when they meet big guns...therefore when they lose like this im not disappointed at all..already expected after 3 seasons watching Arsenal play..haha

I do agree.... the season is still far from over.
However, it is our strength against strong opponent that will count.

yeah.. i am arsenal forever too.. but it is already 5 seasons without any silverware.. most of our players are international players.. so WTF?.. plating for 5 years without any silverware.. this is exactly why henry run away.. and it is not imposible that this will be the last season for fabregas as a gunner if this continues..

whatever, let's do a Man Utd this season. perform like crap against big teams but pawn all other small teams. there is still a chance.

but if that happens, these few weeks will be hell as an arsenal fan.

What a let off for Almunia! He spews out a ridiculous pass right to Nani and only a back-tracking Gallas prevents a fourth.

Thats the only good thing about being a Gooner right now. I don't mind us not winning trophies but the same old same old Wenker stubborness is killing me. And the so-called "beautiful" game Arsenal plays is becoming too predictable already.

Shiiieeeeeet!

Denilson was involved in all 3 goals against us!

1) Nani skinned him alive in the penalty box
2) Not tracking Rooney
3) Giving the ball away when Gallas committed forward

Fair enough, it was a piece of brilliant skill by Nani, but it doesn't change the fact he was involved.

I wonder who is the one suggest Wenger to get Almunia from wherever?
He is like the only gk in top 4 that sucks hell.

Good job.Thank god TV played or else i am not sure whether is will the goal number came up in two digits.

I can't believe Arsenal need actually DEFENDERS to score a goal and nearly make another one or 2 for Arsenal with Gallas missing a 2 yards header by a little and TV header blocked by Evra.

Dear God,is there any light by the end of February?

+1, Almunia was terrible. Arshavin was more effective in the flank. It is very clear that we do not have enough forward.Other than rvp, I think only Bendtner can do the job in not that effective way. I doubt Eduardo and Vela can succeed in taht pos. They are more to flank striker.

This result coupled with the Villa result certainly didn't inject confidence in me to be optimistic against Chelsea (DROGBA again..) and Liverpool..Supporting Arsenal is like having a teasing partner nowadays, tease u till a certain extent then suddenly give u the cold shoulder..Nevertheless I will still support Arsenal for life and hope our squad could give us something to cheer for by the end of the season..

P.S Denilson for the past 3 matches,as much as I would like to resist the temptation to slam him could be summed up in one word-RUBBISH.Almunia also making some silly mistake constantly..last time pak cik Lehmann do few time oni got the boot,Almunia now also didnt get to eat the boot yet..

well, all i can say is don't breathe out yet. we have liverpool n chelsea coming right up. i'm looking forward to how the kids will bounce back from this... humiliating loss.

as much as i try to remain positive, i don't deny the fact that this is embarassing. living as an arsenal fan for these few weeks will be hard, esp with the incoming taunts from chelsea, liverpool and man utd fans. wenger... what's in your mind.

this team is a decent to challenge for the title.
but not to win the title.
i dont know about buying players or wateve.
but i blame the tactics and the mentality of the player themselves.
rooney's goal and parks goal can be prevented if our defend is discipline enough to to do their job.
if we are one goal down, we keep on pushing2 n pushing higher up. and exposed for counter attack.i've seen these many time in game against chelsea n man utd.
man utd isnt that good in the midfield, but their defend is decent n discipline enough to keep our non-striker attack at bay.
and the culprit for tonight match is arshavin for selfishness for the chances that he throw away.
and clichy is being pawned by nani.
and walcott being a by stander in the field.

i'm very frustrated with the lost because i expect a win at least at home game.
after 2 goals down, the players themselves is frustrated already.

to conclude, in big games, i blame the tactics which mean fault at AW side.
plus some other faults by players themselves.

i rest my case.

hopefully we can win against chelsea away ya.. har har har.

man.u deserve their win today...they want it more...their finishing more clinical...

no controversy today which is good...

we only have ourself to blame...

for me from now arshavin should not play as a striker..he's more useful as attacking winger...despite his determination, he doesnt have physical ability to shrug off defenders...

plus eboue should start at the right wing & allow nasri or rosicky in the middle... denilson should not be in the first team..

i've the feeling cesc have lost touch with his dead ball, corner, freekick & etc recently...

move on guys, next stamford bridge...we'll try from there...do another decent run..and hope for man.u & chelsea slip.... sweat.gif

Arsenal lost tonight, but I'm still behind the team 100%. I dunno why tonight so many damn pundits coming into the thread. All you guys can say is damn, sial, bodo, stupiak, etc. Typical....

I don't need to comment about Almunia and Denilson, enough goons said about that. I'd say Song and Vermaelen is motm for Arsenal. Solid defending and supplying added attacking force. I'd stand by comment as before...our attacking options are sufficient, its our defence is lacking. Enough said, its time to swallow the loss and look forward to the coming match. Another bleak Monday tomorrow.

Almunia and Denilson kept on being picked for 1st eleven this season even after a number of shitty performances (example : see tonight). which beg me the question :

are both of them Wenger long lost sons? biggrin.gif

If compared to MU, we were lacked of penetration and directness in our attack.

MU attacks were very direct and they ran and passed ball towards our goal posts with one aim which was to score against us.

... and Rooney seemed to be in his top form and confidence. It wasn't easy to shake him off.

yeah if i'm using rational thinking it is the back 5 including Almunia the culprit to this lost. Sagna is not threatening, Gallas and Vermaelen i dunno what to say maybe the opposition is better in attacking and they take their chance. Clichy is slower than Nani? Our attacking suifficent but not effective. That's why at least buy a BIG, PHYSICAL STRIKER for proper cover.

Friend, Rooney's goal was from corner. Show me which team's CB doesn't go up for corner?

3rd goal was Gallas who went up. But you have to question Denilson's ability to hold up the ball.

my review bout the game

almunia-sux .
sagna-rarely touch the ball,so hurm no comment
vermalen-superb
gallas-1st half looks ok,then faded.
clichy-2nd half better
nasri-sux
rosicky-dunno bout u guys but i think his okay
fabregas-as usual,superb
walcott-got his speed back but not his form still not sharp yet
bendter-play a little,can;t comment
arsahvin-waste many chances but play quite well in the end.and his run and ball handling and control was good
song-not bad
denilson-wth.sux

the 1st goal, dunno looks a bit hard for almunia to stop
2nd goal, obviously denilson was the one to blame,he marking rooney then suddenly lost his speed.
3rd goal - arsenal nver learnt a leeson from that everton goal few weeks ago

wenger,u need to buy new players.striker, keeper

and i think wenger should give eboue some chances, put vermalen as defensive midfielder bcause his good in defence and also attack.
buy a new keeper.no way for fabianksi.

and stop giving crosses.only vermalen ,bendtener has good header, other was decent.

for man utd, they play rooney and nani upfront vs 4 arsenal defender already looks dangerous.

no win againts chelsea, can say bye2 to premier league
wenger just wasted a chance to win 1 cup this season-fa cup which was a bright chance to win it.only chelsea the only good team in fa cup

my optimism is gone.
coz these three matches after this will conclude our game this season.
i dont think they can bounce back after this defeat.
coz why? i can see from fabregas face that he is very dissapointed.

bangun2 dah 3-0... malas ah tgk game. so i cant comment on denilson. but al-mania mmg sakai. i don't think i've ever seen a consistent performance from that flapper. seriously, wenger, i'll buy your young player and building from the bottom idea, but get almunia off the team. he's not exactly young. tho one might argue that for a GK he is relatively young. but scoff that, get a keeper. above all else. raid fiorentina for sebastian frey.

haha, come on. The face you really shouldn't want to see now is denilson & almunia.

Arshavin did well today. If you observed, he took on man utd defenders.

How long have we seen our strikers do that since henry?

i dunno what rosicky doing there , sagna passes is terrible .actually cant blame on almunia when all the defender going up and lack of speed to run back when counter attack  smile.gif
*
rosicky not bad laa.dosen;t really lose ball, good handling, sagna dunno bcause he rarely touch a ball

almunia .ya can't blame him but when he misspassed the ball to nani,i feel his perforamance was really2 bad

now i hate denilson vry much.he can stop the 2nd goal.stupid.

the 3rd goal was quite similar to everton's pienaar goals.arsenal should have learnt.

and arsenal looks like not going to sign anyone.sux.campbell ?he is old already.

wenger wanted to get expereinced player but he get too old players, silvestre, campbell.what is this ?
i can feel fabregas will go .

its just like henry.when he said he stay at arsenal for life.in the end ..
arsenal should not sell toure,i think if toure stays,4 defender - sagna, clichy, gallas, toure.
vermalen can be defensive midfileder or attacking.he is good at both.

this youth policy is good...but dont over do it la...our average age is getting lower every year...we need to get some experience head in there....we can afford them....how can aston villa or spurs spend more than us...we charge one of the most expensive ticket...
*
Yep. Agreed on the don't over do it part.

The likes of Barca, the team we aspire to be, they know how to blend youth with world class talent.

For every Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets they have a Keita or Toure.

For every Messi and Bojan, they have Ibra and Henry.

For every Puyol and Pique, they have a Marquez and Milito.

And they add on with a world class RB in Dani Alves and an experienced international in Abidal.

This is the type of policy we need. A blend of youth and world class players.

i agree that arshavin did well today.. just a lil selfish but his spirit is unquestionable.. the main farking culprits are denilson and manny .. they just don't farking deserve to be in the 1st XI squad until they improve themselves..

I seldom criticize our team and always behind them but tonight it makes me really hot.. i understand we can't win all the time but to lose a game like this .. well .. MOTFarkingM is definitely denilson..

Wow to be honest, the 2nd half was really intense when Walcott and Bendtner came in. They really changed the game.

Vermaelen and Fabregas really tried to change the game too, but got overwhelmed.

If Arsene really got his tactics right, it could have been a different game altogether.

I really have high hopes for Arsenal in this game. The start for us was a little shaky and there are several chances. And then, another own goal against us.After that,Almunia goes down the drain. After that goal, you can just see his face that he is not confident anymore.

Oh well, this is what we get for playing a AM as a striker.Arshavin can never play as a striker. Then again,we only have forwards, never a pure striker.

Alright, lets look up to the next game already. Its Chelsea right?

Im really worried, talks bout Fabregas leaving. :|

After this game, Fabregas would really consider on moving on.

Well, tonight's highlight was really the first 20 minute and the last 15 minute (inc e.t.) of the game. The ball was mostly up on their half and we had some chances to score, eg 2 attempts on goal by arshavin where he could have slid it to Nasri for a tap in, MAYBE. Almunia wasnt solid... as usual. Song was superb, he contributed on attacking while at the same time stopping the tempo of M.U. Vermaelean was superb, luckily got a deflection and went in. That goal gave us the confident to attack more and we could have gotten more goals in the end, but unsuccesful. Arshavin was trying to be a hero of the game by trying to take half chances. Denilson sucked, as usual. He did though try to start some attacks. Fab was fabolous. Gallas was solid, most of the time, but should have stayed back more. Clichy looks nervy in the game, lost to Nani couple of times. Sagna was alrite. Rosiscky did what okay as well. Nasri didnt get much of the ball, though he was usually in the right place at the right time, just that they didnt notice him.

All I can say is that the combination of Nani and Rooney was really... wow. Didnt expected anything from them but that was sure surprising.

if he be a DM,i think arsenal bit diiffeerent.

his shot is good, defence also good..
if he be a defender, then who is going to defence when he is going up.?
he likes to go upfront too.so i think he should be a midfielder, with alex song backing up.

it seems some of us here blame arshavin...

remember he plays out of position because he's usually attacking winger...

when he play as a stiker, his mentality will be "no one more advance than me"...so thats why he's been rather selfish & try to finish the movement himself even though there're some support from rosicky & nasri...his from clearly drop since he's filling RVP boots upfront...

Erm,do we even have a natural striker?

Natural striker for me is a striker that really just stays near the penalty box and be available when crosses or the through pass comes into the box.
NOT the type that goes out to the wing and stay on the wing.Even Bendtner is a forward, not a striker.

This is how Wenger see’s his players:

Fabregas – Small technical player with quick feet who can pass well.

Arshavin – Small technical player with quick feet who can pass well.

Denilson – Small technical player with quick feet who can pass well.

Nasri – Small technical player with quick feet who can pass well.

Walcott – Small technical player with quick feet who can pass well.

Ramsey – Small technical player with quick feet who can pass well.

Vela – Small technical player with quick feet who can pass well.

Wilshere – Small technical player with quick feet who can pass well.

See the pattern……wenger love them small....

But if we dont win a trophy next season, then I doubt Fabregas will be staying at Arsenal.

not next season...this summer he will be off to barca or real if we dont win anything...real already said they will do everything to get him....

signing off now. have work tomorrow. don't even know if i can sleep..haihzzz

before that, just want to say that the main reason we lost was due to our weakest link exposed and made crucial mistake more than their weakest link

and i think i'm gonna lost it if i see Denilson start against Chelsea

ciao Gooners. i'll be here again tomorrow when rationality come back to me for me to post with perspectivr

Definitely, can't rely on arsharvin to play striker role ALL the time. Too bad, RVP is ALWAYS out injured. Labelled as "Injury Prone", Arsharvin played terribly, had couple of chances, but missed them. Clichy was almost absent throughout the game.

Guess we're missing adebayor who has just scored for man city? Just give Bendtner a chance against Chelsea. Arsharvin should play wide.

Why we aren't getting Chamakh or Villa YET: http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/w...ought-until-now

I watched half-time and that's it, get out from the mamak restaurant to have some fresh air away from the huge presence of annoying MU fans...Sitting for half-time is already sucha a nuisance, I wonder if i goes on for full match. IMO, I don't think we played that bad and the first goal is purely luck. And from then on we were badly in need for levelling that's why the counter-attacking happens and they get the 2nd. Pretty predictable game, eh? So need to watch further? I don't think so...Let's move on. yawn.gif

So it will be a 5 points over 4 games. If the team can win as many as possible. We are still there

not to mention bigger clubs are snatching arsenal young guns away from them. i wont be surprised if cesc leaves in a season or two. there's nothing keeping players in Arsenal as they are in current big clubs full of history, potential, and money.

first two goals can be avoided. denilson simply was jogging.
look at vermaelen running, thats a sharp contrast.
iirc against stoke he was like this, aston villa he was giving a lot away too.
kinda surprised he started the game and also the second half.

haih.. my internet died on me after 30 minutes then lazy to go out. saw the weak clearance from Almunia resulting in another OG! fark.. i hate it when i'm rite... i predicted he would score another. then my fren sms.... then goal... then goal... all MU. shite....

AW should really take a look at Almunia.

dissappointing.. yes, can't say we didn't have the chances. there were 4 clear cut chances in the 1st 1/2 hour alone. just we didn't take em...

another 3 points dropped. massive task next week at SB.

btw, how bad was denilson? huhuhu

Denilson had been doing that all season long. let's just take the last 3 matches

Stoke - jogging alongside Sidibe before the latter provide a cross for their 2nd goal
Villa - on a high number of times, giving the ball away and could not complete a 5 yard passes
MU - giving them 2 goals for; goal #2 jogging again to come back defending their counter attack which resulted in him losing Rooney and goal #2 for having a poor awareness and first touch

i am frightened to even think what he will give to Chelsea next

Denilson was really bad in the game with not much contribution.Thankfully Wenger notice about that instead of sub out another better player.

Sagna was taken off for Eboue who is suppose to prevent the counter attack but end up pretty much of a failure too.

Walcott did well this time surprisingly to even had a header on target but obviously he is not Vermaelen or Bendtner in scoring goals. He also did beat Evra in a few occassion of pace fighting.

Arshavin will be the most dissapointing guy ever. Each time he misses he know he is at fault and he tried to be less selfish 2nd half but arsenal were already 3-0 down.

IMO:

Flop of the match:

1) Denilson - well crafted jog technique tongue.gif
2) Arshavin - selfishness juz brought u & ur team to nowhere..still remember when he go for all
glory during 4-2 vs bolton doh.gif shakehead.gif
3) Almunia - chelsea had cech(czech int.), united had VDS(dutch int.), pool had reina(2nd gk for spain),
city had Given(Ireland int & most inform GK in epl), while we have the gk who nvr has int caps on his name
as our 1st choice GK. Let alone int caps...he still doesn't know which country he gonna represent doh.gif
Also dat blunder clearance are quite a joke for supposedly Arsenal 1st GK. (I missed Mad Jens)

Top of the match:

1) Cesc - show some class & fighting spirit throughout the match. Too bad getting frustrated too many times by his
teammates (mostly arshavin due to his selfishness).
2) Vermy & Gallas - If wasn't for them it could've been 5 @ 6 in almunia's net
3) Song - a clear battlers/ball winner in our squad. Oso make some crucial tackle against rooney & carrick. I wonder if
he didn't start and denilson playing his role. doh.gif

1st goal, he was the one who missed the tackle after Nani got pass Clichy and Nasri. Nani was skillful no doubt, but still, Denilson was involved.

2nd goal, he had at least 20 metres head start against Rooney, but contrast Rooney's lung-busting sprint into the box and Denilson's jog, you'll see the difference in heart and determination.

3rd goal, Gallas broke out from defence and someone on the wings had the ball (can't remember who). That person made a simple pass to Denilson, who took a touch to heavy on the midfield line. Gave the ball away, Man U break 3 vs 1 (Clichy).

His best contribution was when AW substituted him and we scored a goal.

QUOTE
Arsène Wenger has a very good reason for not buying a striker during the transfer window - the players who have caught his eye have not been available.

The Arsenal manager has been linked with a string of forwards ever since he suggested he would enter the market in the wake of Robin Van Persie’s long-term injury.

Sol Campbell made a shock return to the Club in January but the predicted striker signing has not yet materialised. That has been a source of frustration to those who feel Arsenal need reinforcements to push for the title, but Wenger has had his hands tied by circumstances.

“It is not only about wanting to buy, it is to find better players than what you have available and we haven’t until now. It is as simple as that,” he said.

“You always want to add a [Cristiano] Ronaldo if you can, but is he available and where is he?

“Marouane Chamakh is not available because he is playing with Bordeaux and Bordeaux don't want to release him. David Villa as well, Valencia don't want to let him go.”

Nicklas Bendtner’s return from a long-term groin problem has at least bumped up the number of striking options available to Wenger as Arsenal challenge for honours at home and in Europe in the coming months.

And in the absence of a new recruit, the Frenchman will trust his current squad to provide the requisite quality.

“I believe as well the extra push can come within the Club and the easy solution is always to look outside,” said Wenger.

“When you look deeply at what is happening to us, we have the best attack in the League; we scored more goals than anybody else. That means at least if you can do that for the first 20 or 21 games, why not in the other 18?”

Yep.. I can't believe i'm saying his... i miss Diaby's presence at midfield. At least with him around, Cesc is free to roam and Song can stay back and help out.

from yesterday, it's obvious that we need a better keeper. Almunia is a decent keeper but not game changing keeper. yep.. we all miss Mad Jens now... huhuhuhuhu

This game won't determine where the title will go nor Arsenal will exit the cup race.

So show some beliefs, or at least try to have one
*
That's right. I believe that the other teams will still drop points from now till the end of the season. So it's not really over yet. 5 points is not too big a gap. Top 4 is only 4 matches....it's what happens with the others that will matter in the end. Makes the draws at Upton Park and home against Everton more telling. With those 4 points we could've been just a point apart from the top.

for me arshavin, fabregas, song, gallas n vermalen delivered 100%.the others esp. denilson n almunia, u all know rite?for me denilson cant perform in big game rite now.he's still not ready.but he's definitely got talent.if u guys doesnt know,he's used to be captain for brazil for under 21,19,17.almunia?SELL HIM!!!!
*
For a Brazilian he has extremely poor first touch. Never seem to be able to really control a ball unless it's rolled slowly to him. No longer a novice. It's time for him to either shape up or ship out. The contrast with Alex Song's improvement could not be more different.

Is always difficult to play with top teams like man utd, but is so painful to watch they play with 110% and half of our squad still struggling.

Our attacking option are too limited, only attack from center, they always defend the center, our cross is 90% not danger one.

Playing with Chelsea next with this performance and momentum, i dun really see any chance to grab points.

The only good thing we have now is we still have some advantage on 3rd or 4th spot >"<

the shit i am talking? if you can't differentiate the difference between criticizing the players performances and name-calling our players and managers then too bad la. i said there is nothing wrong with criticizing the performances, but name calling our players and managers is obviously crossing the line like some 'Gooners' did in here recently

and i'd like to think that most of us in here have no problem with criticizing the team and will not call anyone glory hunter just for because you criticize the team. i mean i criticize the team all the time and nobody call me glory hunter as far as i can recall

for disclaimer, i have no problem with people suggesting changing the manager and present it (the proposal of changing our boss) properly. in fact i admired people having strong opinion on this matters as it shows you care about the club

so you said you do not know how long your belief going to last. i'd take it that the belief is equal to the belief to Arsene Wenger as a manager. if yes, then just said so and state why. the question of 'is Arsene Wenger the man to take us forward' is a yes/no question and i have no problem if some answer in here is a 'NO'

you get what wenger means ?

he wants to sign players that he wants but they are not available or they are in a bigger clubs ... example, everyone wants ronaldo but he is so high in wages and real madrid wont sell him ...

sign players is not buy vege ... wages, skill can adapt to the team or not matter a lot ...

some people said huntelaar but can they guarantee he wont be a flop in emirates ? if he really is a flop after join gunners then hard to sell already and gunners still need pay him high wages weekly ...

Someone remember my dream of RVP getting better ahead of the schedule ? It really coming true after all !

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...y.html?ITO=1490

"Robin Van Persie could be ready to play in seven weeks, a month ahead of schedule."

We need RvP back as soon as possible. But seeing him out for weeks i doubt he be straight on form already.

Next week line up will be interesting.Hope Diaby can take over Denilson place and starting Bendtner up front against 2 tall CB rather than Arshavin.

Once again,i believe Ashley Cole and Drogba is the main threat.

Anyway Stamford Bridge next , and there is where we start to get our winning streak .

I get your point. With our financial strength, it doesn't mean we have to go and get players like Ronaldo or Villa due to high weekly wages. There's always loan option , at least to have some decent back up experienced players. Midfield especially.
And if you don't take the chance, you'll never know whether a player will be a flop or a decent one. Adaptability, skills, etc etc could be judge by observing, but that doesn't mean that the player would not flourish.

There's always believe in every Arsenal supporter no matter how worst we would criticize due to frustration. Let not us fight over this with different of opinions. There's nothing wrong of sharing views of match analysis of each opponent that we faced. There's alot to be said.

Yesterday's game was quite a bad one for us. United outplayed us in term of tactics. Some of our players doesn't have the mentality of winning. Look at Denilson, i can't believe he just gave up half way. We need a real boost against Chelsea at SB. We need to be resilient.

*Victory through Harmony*

Sorry guys.. AGAIN my prediction was right!
Reasons for the lost:
1. Rooney on top form
2. Nani showed his class
3. Fab is not suitable as a captain
4. Beautiful game play DOESN'T guarantees trophies or 3 points for every match
5. Most importantly, KIDS CAN'T WIN CUPS!

Next prediction:
Chelsea 4 - Arsenal 0 (Goals: Drogba -3, Anelka - 1)

Nothing personal, it's all about the game!

Well, what can I say.. we were never good enuff to challenge Man U. At least not now.

Our game has become soooooooooo predictable. We no longer score from fast breaks anymore.. at least not as frequent as before. We always overdo our movements. We always overpass. Beautiful game ? Ours ? U've got to be kidding me..... Well, we've had glimpses of our beautiful, fast moving, efficient passing of old.. but not now. Now we overpass.. 30-40 passes.. then intercepted.. 30-40 passes..dunno whether want to shoot or what... decisions, decisions.

I dun really know what our objectives anymore. We are in the process of rebuilding.. maybe. So ? Which one's better ? Winning the FA Cup/Carling cup or 4th in the league ? I'd rather have some trophies to show than just placings in the league. Mr Wenger... U've gotta get Ur priorities right. Rebuild all U want... but by the end of it, we must have something to show. With the way we're playing now, do we stand any chance of winning the Champions League ? We can't even beat our own big 3...

Oh well, whatever.. nevermind...

Highly doubt No. 3

Among all the players in the match, Fabregas is one of the most committed player; someone who live up the expectation of a captain to me.

Everything has two sides of stories, positives and negatives. It depends on how much % we concentrate on them.

Hehehe...that is why Jose Mourinho is not a suitable Manager for Arsenal..cuz he play 3-points ugly game...but in the end of the 90 minutes usually fans will forgive him for his un-style play but hail him for the 3-points....

Looking forward for our game...but Chelsea against Hull first before Arsenal...i think.... icon_rolleyes.gif

we were not sharp enough, did not take our chances properly
anyhow tough luck, i can see Arshavin was very effective on the left on the 1st half, he can take on anyone if given the space..
