I watched half-time and that's it, get out from the mamak restaurant to have some fresh air away from the huge presence of annoying MU fans...Sitting for half-time is already sucha a nuisance, I wonder if i goes on for full match. IMO, I don't think we played that bad and the first goal is purely luck. And from then on we were badly in need for levelling that's why the counter-attacking happens and they get the 2nd. Pretty predictable game, eh? So need to watch further? I don't think so...Let's move on.

QUOTE(super messi @ Feb 1 2010, 09:59 AM) why give denilson more chances to start a game when he doesnt bring anything to our game....we are better off with ramsey....at least his work rate is really high....i miss diaby(i never imagine i gonna say this)....will diaby be back for the chelsea game?? Yeah..I always felt that the most talismanic player for Arsenal is Diaby not Cesc. |

QUOTE(whoopa @ Feb 2 2010, 11:18 PM) so you all are ok if you get thrashed in stamford bridge jsut as long you guys play beautiful football? I still believe in there aint such thing as play beautifully and lose...If we play beautifully, creatively and have the stamina to perform to that level, we can beat anyone on the league. The last two match, it has not been beautiful for Arsenal. |

QUOTE(whoopa @ Feb 3 2010, 04:39 PM) Last match against MU arsenal did get forward and attacked and just lacking the finishing touch. the reluctance to adjust the playing style is the downfall. you said no such thing beautifully and lose but is there such thing as playing ugly and lose? no right. end of the day you need 3 pts and not 10 pts for style. would you reckon playing fluid passing will win chelsea? barca failed to beat chelsea last year they only got thru with an away goal and drogba busy rolling on the floor. What is there so beautiful about that match? Our fluid passing is just mediocre in our usual standard...And I didn't mentioned fluid passing alone will win Arsenal anything, it gotta be creativity. And I don't watch Barcelona either. |

QUOTE(kimhoong @ Feb 4 2010, 01:01 AM) I think most people has mistaken the meaning of "beautiful game". Not just that, we lack creativity and defensive too...It's not like those days, when u have Henry/Hleb/Vieira/Eboue/Diaby, all of these players are the ones who made some solo runs for the sake of defenders to fall back on their own and cover their own ass. These days, we have like 4,5,6 players passing around the midfield and 1 or 2 of them might be our vital defenders. That's where all the counter-attacks happened. It's not that I know-it-all but personally, I think the beautiful game should contain both physical and mental attributes. No doubt, the way Arsenal has been playing is considered high technically and you can "see" the movement of the ball and passes are all "nice to watch" but like beauty pageants, it requires "inner attributes" to shine. What's lacking in Arsenal way is the "drive" to score. The drive I meant here are on both tactically, we should be driven to score - and mentally, the players should be motivated and strong enough (mentally) to play against bigger players, teams. It's really frustrating to see our attacks are ended up in a 'Y' shape. We starts our attack through the middle, then instead of bringing it further through the middle to score (or at least shoot to score), what we have is the ball will be played on the sides Another bright youngster in his "revolution" age? He was alone during the accident. It's either a pure accident or the boy is disturbed. |

sigh...Another bad week. Didn't watch the game tho.
I don't agree ppl saying 4-3-3 is not a good formation for Arsenal. I always reckon that if Arsenal score the very 1st goal, it will always gets more exciting and you can see all kinds of fancy things goin on...If we play defensively, how long can we hold on to the opponent rain of attacks? It is better for us to do 4-3-3 focusing on drawing the 1st blood rather than holding on...like we're having a bunch of stone golems on the field.
