Maybe you can try to search from OHS in HK/China .... sometimes it is cheaper but you have to wait around 10 days for shipping.

Aiyo ..... a heli fanatic guy like you also saying feeling is fading ..... why I am not daring? tongue.gif
But ah ....... the way u said really make me feel like you are dating with a girl and want to dump the girl now .... huahahahahhahaha

almost anything can go with almost any motors ... u just have to do the calculations and power output vs the cost
u have to match the props to the motor and vice versa ... then if u wanna gila laju .. be prepared to spend on ESC and batts
my funjet goes around 180-190kmh on 3S .. estimate around 220-230kmh on 4S .. but makan batt and ESC like hell .. even my 100a ESC now oso not enuff to WOT the funjet on 4S full time .. just occasional burst only

But if we have the foam one the plane can tahan overspeed or not?
Hehehehe, not so sure if my cessna will split apart in the air or not if I rembit him ........

Have you full throttle your cessna last time? Because I did that in sim with cessna too and it is damn fun to rembit the plane and passing in front of me ..... but then the landing part is the painful process .... have to cutting the throttle slower and slower ...... to make a smooth landing ... still not mastering the landing skill yet

foam planes are not that dissimilar to balsa planes
the wing profile and quality of material and construction will play a major part in how fast your plane can go
the cessna is not a go fast plane but it is reasonably fast to a certain extent
more than enuff for a beginner

if u got lots of $$$ and willing to pay for fully composite planes then sure u can go fast .. but composite is heavy .. u will need lots of horsepower to fly it

No matter what, I still can't get my plane maiden ....
Some parts are missing in the box when it reached me ..... don't know when I can get it back from the seller .... sighhhhhhhhhhh

Tried to get from OHS but either too far (in europe) or no stock ...... damn unlucky

normally i just buy the kit ... no electronics nothing
but best to buy from LHS instead of OHS coz u have to check the plane and make sure and the stuff like push rods pin horns etc are all there .. and oso to make sure the plane is not damaged

u have to identify the model ... then identify what is damaged
only then can u look for replacement parts if available
normally those 3.5 channel stuff does not have spare parts unless u know the supplier/distributor coz not worth it to repair the electronics most of the time
the damaged parts may cost u half your heli ...

Qiw, should we actually try not to use rudder too much for plane? i.e. make a turn using aileron in order to keep altitude easily ....

Also, is that possible to take off or touch down on a football field with my plane better than on a harder surface?

it all depends on the plane ... some planes turns well with rudder and some dont
soft surfaces like grass are easier to land on but u are exposed to your wheels tangling with grass ... this can make your plane flip over
hard surfaces are much smoother but requires more skill ... not very forgiving if u do not know how to land properly

Then based on your opinion, what would be the best touch down run way for this EPO cessna? Field or hard surface?

field or tarmac oso ok one la once u know how to land
of coz dont choose field with super long grass laaaa .. hahahaha

ailerons are used for banking .. rudder/yaw for turning the head
but when u turn the head the difference in lift on both sides of the wing will create a bank as well but at a slower rate compared to ailerons

Yeap, as in the sim when I use rudder I have to control my aileron to make the plane balance and turn nicely.
Doing turn without rudder but with aileron then I have to take a big turn ....

Hopefully what I've learned in the sim can be used on my foamie ....

Aiyo, my plane's ESC very hard to find the manual.
Just now I pushed the throttle stick fully up and then connect the battery, then I heard beep-beep a few times, follow by beep-beep-beep a few times and so on. It looks like it is in programming mode but just don't know what the beeping represents.

That's a G&C Hobby 30A ESC so is that programming sequence common across ESC?

most of the ESCs that comes with the kits programmed ok one liau laa
u just need to set the throttle range
MAX THROTTLE ... PLUG IN BATT
listen for the 1ST BEEP sound it makes ... then LOWER TO MINIMUM THROTTLE ... u have just set your throttle range
thats the MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO with any new ESC or changing radio or radio system

The ESC sounds interesting as it has a lot of tones ...... at least 7 or 8 different tone I have heard, there may be more but I am lazy to listen since I don't know what the tone represents.

Thought to set the brake mode on as well and not just calibrating the throttle range.

Aiyo, my missing part still no news ... have to call the shop already.
