LOL to bolded words.. you need i7 quad/extreme or core 2 quad/extreme for HD intensive playback... sweat.gif [although i5 is okay]

well.. for your budget.. the best is Acer 4745G , i5 430M + ATI HD5470/GMA HD]

I thought the Acer brand has a reputation for poor (slow) performance in comparison with other brands at the same pricepoint, no?

My 2cts is that Dell is value for money. (btw I don't work for Dell)

If this few is what you have decided, go for the Aspire 5741g-524g50 - rm 2,999 or Acer Aspire 4745G-432G50 - Rm 2,699, it also comes down with the screen size 14" or 15.6". I think ur better off with the 15.6" for gaming though.

ya only these few.
i was thinking to buy Acer Aspire 4745G-432G50.
cuz it is cheaper.
but the ram is kinda low.
and it costs like rm200 to add 4gb ram(2gb x 2)/(4GB ram 1 slot).
so the total is like rm 2899...
almost the same price as Acer Aspire 5471-524G50
the only main difference is is the processor, Graphic card and RAM.

Think u will be better off with Aspire 5741g-524g50 , as u can upgrade the ram to a max of 8gb compared to Acer Aspire 4745G-432G50 max is 4gb. And as u said the price diff after u upgrade the ram is similar.
Why not pay the price for a better processor, better gpu and RAM.
