HP DV6 is RM4999....
If mainly entertainment, can consider Dell Studio XPS 16 or Vaio EB18, 15.5'', i3 330M + ATi HD5650, FullHD + BDROM@RM3999
Gaming wise, either Asus N82Jv, 14'', i5 520M + Nvidia GT335M@RM3999, Lenovo Y460, 14'', i5 540M + ATi HD5650@RM3599, Vaio EA16, 14'', i5 520M + ATi HD5650@RM3999..

Hi

Im looking for a new laptop. Hope you can give me a few choices, probably 5 recoemendations, so i can narrow down my choices from thousand of laptops out there and do my research accordingly.

The following criteria is a must:

-Intel Pentium or Celeron, core 2 duo
-Battery life at least 4hrs and doesn't get hot easily. (My current dell inspiron get hot within 2hours of usage.)
-light weight, max 1.8kg (with battery)
-at least 12inch.

My budget is RM3k, of course i wouldn't complain, if it's lower than that.
Any brand is fine with me, as long as reasonably reputable ones.
DVD driver is not crucial, so if it doesn't have one, its fine.

As mentioned, please do give me a few, so i can do some research and comparison as well.

Thank you thank you....

Don't bother any pentium / celeron / core2duo procs.
Within 3k, u can get i-series laptop which is better than u mentioned.
Some suggestion for both of u:
Lenovo G460 @ RM2699

A52JK-SX169V 14" HD (GL, LED) @ RM2899

If not for games, better take integrated GPU, less heat and more battery life...
consider Asus A42F, i3 350M + GMA HD, freeDOS@RM2099
Same spec with Acer 4745G would be Asus A42Jr, i5 430M + ATi HD5470@RM2799 but it already phased out, so might be hard to find it...
closest is Asus A42Jk, i5 430M + ATi HD5145@RM2899, similar gaming performance but you lose the switchable GPU feature on Acer...
*
how is the battery life for asus a42F, asus 42jr, asus 42jk and acer 4745?
only asus A42Jr and Acer 4745G got switchable gpu right?

2. Wat is i-series" laptop? Isit something new?
