of course it does. once in a while we might want to indulge in food but i wonder which one is not that bad .
sometimes i do take snickers and 2-3 spoon of ice cream at night when i hungry but i wonder if its bad for my diet?

how about kentucky fried chicken?

by the way, im not the type of person who have time to prepare my own food so i look for alternatives.

this thread should be in Health&Fitness, not here...

TS, if you have time, try google carbs and fats...you'll be amaze on how good you're later to choose which food is good and which is bad...to list the bad food, it'll keep adding up...not to mention all the malay, chinese and indian delicacies and so on...

so instead of we give you the fish everytime you hungry, we should ask you to go get yourself the fishing rod...start with the stickies...

BTW, my answer would be similar to 4rings...carbs... biggrin.gif

i know some of the staple food which many dieters and body builders will take such as peanut butter, sandwiches , protein, chicken thigh , fruits , tuna fish etc but i just want to know if any of the forbidden food especially malaysian one can be turn into a diet food.

eg.

roti canai , tell the mamak not to cook with oil or just had 1 piece .
or
a scoop of ice cream
or
if a cup of milk is not as bad as we think.

I mean why not if those of you can share your secret recipe in the forbidden food so that all of us don't have to be bore by the bodybuilder food i mentioned above.

You can as long as you can exercise enough to burn the amount of calories you consume... you'd probably need to spend A LOT of time in the gym doing hardcore exercises... 5-6 hours should be enough rclxms.gif

It's alright to take peanut butter but opt for the low fat ones. And did you mean chicken breast instead of thigh?

As for what you mean - I think I get it but hard to give an explanation as how much one should take. Seriously speaking, 1 scoop of ice cream is harmless if you only take it one a month?

panda-man gave a good site: myfitnesspal.com to keep track of your daily food intake and how much calories it contains/ you consumed.

Yes, I'm surprised too at Milo. But I think the calories include extra milk/ sugar. I usually drink milo kosong so I don't think it'll yield that high though (unfortunately there's no calorie count for milo kosong so I have no idea).

Those are just estimations, some might not be accurate ^^; I tried going for 1,200 calories today and found myself starving between brunch. Had to drag my colleague out for lunch @ 12 sharp coz I was so hungry!

It's not end of the day yet but I only have another 252 calories to spare for dinner cry.gif it'll depend on what's cooking tonight~

myremi also provide a good site: calorieking where you can also check for calories.

thanks bata for such a wonderful site. if i dindn't ask, i think i will never know of this valuable site.

now at least i know some of the food calories and should just take half of it rather than skipping it as when we get really hungry, we really hunt down this food like a swine as we miss them for too long.

My longest may not be like some of you which is counting by the number of days but by hours due to working hours and hate cooking.

so i just like to thank those who helps me out here.

Holy schmoly! Hackwire,
Just freaking eat an apple/orange/pear/some sort of fruits when you're hungry at night, dude.

There's a research (as usual, i forgot where it is & too lazy to google now):
When food high in carbs/sugar and fats (& salt) are eaten together, a rat simply gorges the food whether it's hungry or not. It will even continue to eat despite being fed full a few moments ago. It's the same mechanism in humans.

All the above you mentioned: all contains high amounts of carbs and fats. There's no way to turn off that hunger once you take a spoon of that ice cream or chips.

I mean it's ok to go eat those snacks once a month during a party or something. But eating them every other night? You guys need to clean your taste palettes. nod.gif

-----------
Sweetpez:
Hungry?

Eat high fibrous fruits. Apples are good.
And drink water.

1 apple (big one) is more than enough to stuff you up. And you don't need to worry about calories in fruit. You could binge on apples and not gain weight that easily. (I seriously don't think it's even possible to binge on apples).

When you're born in a family of weirdos like mine, you'll see that can happen. Our record is 8 apples by my cousin (I think you've seen him. 6'3" guy). Apple gorging, pretty sick! OF course that was after some "herbs" lah.

i don't think i can eat like some of you guys can . Fruits are just for dessert for me. when come to food at the street, how can one say "Tak Nak" when everybody is fighting for table at the best restaurant.

i wish i can train myself to eat moderately .

Malaysian food really bad . probably will switch to more japanese food but so expensive . actually good quality food suppose to be cheaper but it turn out to be more expensive. wonder why our good food is tasteless without good sauce. japanese really good . no sauce or anything also the taste is already good.

both...trans fat and processed carbs...just keep it simple...need not to overlook those matters...as simple as that...pushing yourself to start a diet is more important...procastinate later is your enemy...

Woah man! 8 freaking apples at 1 go? How the heck he stuff all that down with all the fibre and water? At most I could do 2-3 when I'm hungry.
Your cousin? The Subang dude?

Lame.
I mean, it's ok if you cheat on some fatty street food once in a while. But then, takkan every time you go out, you need to eat something bad?

Hey, it's your choice.

There's no need to count calories. You can eat as much as you want without getting fat, just minus the carbs. Excessive dietary protein and fat can't be stored in the body. They will be excreted out. No point counting calories because it doesn't work. You need a calculator to count calories but there is no calculator inside our body. How do you expect our body to calculate calories without a calculator? Our body recognizes food as nutrients not calories. Macro nutrients such as protein and carbs are involved in stimulation of certain hormones which will trigger the storage of fat and utilization of fat as energy.

By eating the right ratio of macro nutrients will help you to lose fats, gain quality muscles or maintaining your ideal body fat levels.

But you can calculate them just in making sure you've reach your target for bulking etc, right? Because, like me, I thought I've eat a lot but when calculate the amount of calories its not even reach 2000. Am wondering, thanks. hmm.gif

is fat more the culprit than carb? I used to eat lots of oily food. i can do away with carbs but oily food is a little hard. perhaps , olive oil cooking is an option.

Look up acylation-stimulation protein.
If our body don't recognize calories, then where do we get the energy to live?

What I do?

My total caloric intake on a diet is about 2000 cals

Just fast through out the day and grind thru the hunger.
Unless I work out, then I break my fast prior to going to the gym I like milk so this is the one of the best solutions i've came up with.
400ML pre and 600 ML post workout - so 1 liter of HL white milk = 500 calories and 50 grams of protein.

After which I'll just have fun eating my hearts outs - i have 1500 calories to splurge, which is a lot of food actually unless you're going drinking.
