ah, its such a hard argument actually considering in malaysia to buy a game it costs rm160-180, whereas overseas in their currency its equivalent to rm40-50 if looking at it from dollar to dollar perspective.

how can we fight piracy like that right~ aiyo.

That's the problem with a lot of people here. Conditioned to compare the price using RM to USD. Although that's only half of the story. The other half is unscrupulous dealers: harga tak turun even after game no longer popular. Those are same dealers that carry *ahem* stuff. You still expect me to buy Metal Slug Anthology for Wii at RM199 even after 4 years of launch? Sorry, I rather turn to eBay. Too bad the average Malaysian does not trust/know how to use online shopping either.

well you cannot blame the dealers for not lowering the price. i mean after all they did pay for the game to have it in stock. so why sell it at a loss as people are still asking about it. as for online shopping, lots of people dont do online shopping because of trust. and even if you do trust the system, everyone hates the ketam that will hold your dvd/bd/game whatever. this i think is the biggest problem with people shopping online. i hate ordering stuff from overseas because of ketam.

My say:

Knowledge has no expensive or cheap price. I'd rather educate my children on the meaning of value than abuse the system just to avoid being called dumb. Besides, one who learns of true value is wiser than does who don't.

I prefer to buy the 'cheap' PS3 games if available. better that way than not play at all becoz got no money.

when student with 0 income - cannot afford, cos still student. buy pirated. use parents / PTPTN money.

graduated, first job with 1.5k income - cannot afford. claim money not enough.

subsequent jobs / promotions 3k to 8k income - cannot afford. claim game expensive.

and often these people who say no money, buy pirated, happen to be the people who have decent car, have console, computer with decent gaming specs, nice handphone, or whatever else, so on so forth.

is buying original dumb? NO - you want to play, you better pay. if the developers made a good game, you pay to play it. life is like that, you can't afford then don't feed the pirates, they're the ones hurting your beloved gaming industry.

its dumb to buy RETAIL BOX games at RETAIL PRICES!... i buy steam games at 80% discount.. i got GTA 4 for 7 USD = RM30 .. i get all the updates, latest patches and stuff.. which is much better gaming experience then playing the pirated version which hangs and lags + no updates!

Don't forget by the time you got your game every one else already finished the game. Technology is a race against time. I can just say "what for buy the latest PC when I can get a Pentium 2 for dirt cheap?"

Ketam normally won't simply tahan packages. Only exceptions they tahan is either game declared to cost more than RM500 (tahan for import duty only, must be extremely rare game to cost so much, or the seller screwing you by purposely declaring the game to cost a lot- did you argue with the seller?), your record become suspicious because you buy too many games too often (1 game a month usually no problem. Stack of 10 every week, however, different story) and if it comes in through express means (Usually through poslaju/parcel post less likely to kena tahan compared to through FedEX/DHL/UPS).

As for Metal Slug Anthology, idk if anyone is still asking for it except me. It's so old and people prefer the PSP version...
