Cant wait for ur calibration result darenlks!.

Even if ur picture setting doesnt match most of us, it easier to change the setting from urs instead of starting from scratch.

I'm thinking of choosing between 47ZV600E and Panasonic TH-P50V20 where both have very good comments from forumers. hence can anyone recommend which one to buy ? I'm neutral to whether it is LCD or Plasma TV.

oo found out the screen tearing in uncharted is caused by the game not the tv...

@sting ray

it depends what you use the Tv for... and its less hassle to own a lcd tv but suffer from more motion blur compared to plasma

hi marky, I intend to use it mainly for Astro Byond (currently just normal Astro) and later plan to buy a media player to play MKV files. can you explain why it is less "hassle" to have a LCD tv ? with clear scan 200 will it still have motion blur problem if compared to Plasma tv ?

I honestly don't see how buying a LCD is less hassle than plasma. All TV has become idiot boxes literally.

To sting ray, plasma technology is different when it comes to displaying images. Basically it doesn't suffer any tearing or motion blur at all, almost like watching the real thing. Best for live concerts and sports.

The Toshiba clear scan 200 is just an "effect", in truth its still 100hz. Heck I can even see the difference after comparing it in Dark Knight numerous times.

I belive what marky meant is that you need to do some maintenance work for the first 200 hours to the plasma tv usage like snow wash the screen to prevent the possibility of burn-in as commented by some of the plasma tv owners (don't shoot me on this as this was what I read from the forum tongue.gif )

All LCD tv can't escape the motion blur thingy due to its technology limitation, the question is whether the set is able to minimise it to be least noticeable. If it is bearable to you then it's good because you have more choice to choose from, otherwise, plasma is the only way to go as it has the lead in this area.

Another thing is whether you prefer vivid and bright PQ or natural PQ, this would determine your choice between LCD and plasma. Hope this helps wink.gif

Yes, no matter how, LCD still displayed lagging even it's 200hz. Unavoidable. Plasma would be the better choice if your main concern are motion blur or lagging. Plasma have none of this effect. if so minimal. I displayed only LCD at my store and definately motion blur is there while watching fast moving action movies. The recent one Avatar.

thanks to all for the advice and it seems like Plasma is a better choice. but what about the features of the ZV600E series like Meta Brain Premium and 14 bit video processing ?

hi darenlks, I prefer natural PQ and hence I think it should be Plasma right ?

I think the burn in has been minimize after all these long years, but its still good caution to not let the burn in effect too long (cause by when a logo or word stuck on the screen due to pro long exposure, like channel logo)

Just pass by a pioneer display show casing celine dion concert, still the best display imho.

Meta Brain Premium is its processor's name. ZV's PQ has solid and very accurate color display because of this 14 bit video processing. It does very good job in displaying HD material content and always give me a wow factor. In terms of Astro's SD channel, it's average for me given that it is the SD source but no pixelation based on my observation.

Best is to compared both with your own eyes apart from getting some feedbacks in the forum. Your eyes should be able to tell you which type of PQ you prefer while having some knowledge on the pros and cons between LCD and plasma. It's your call to decide and not mine wink.gif

Yeh...so far pioneer Kuro is the only plasma tv which caught my attention for its PQ but unfortunately I don't have deep pocket like those elites tongue.gif
